Game Start: 24 Feb 2009

1) Tacky Glue Trap vs. High Tension Spring. Tacky Glue Trap will be a better choice because the 40% Accuracy bonus will help you attract mouse. Don’t worry about it if you have chosen High Tension Spring already, you will change your trap in no time.
I started my game with the High Tension Spring and the extra power and luck really comes in handy when higher level mice visited my basic trap

2) Stay in Town of Gnawnia using Cheddar Cheese until you are Apprentice, don’t bother going to Meadow and using other cheese. You will save up gold fast this way.
I started using Marble Cheese once I upgraded to the Mouse Mary O’Nette and it works great!

3) Buy Wooden Base with Target as soon as you can afford it. The addition 20% Accuracy bonus will boost your attraction rate.
Definitely buy the Wooden Base with Target ASAP

4) 500 Pound Spiked Crusher vs. Mouse Mary O’Nette. Mouse Mary O’Nette will be a better choice because it is simply more powerful, attract better and luckier. If you are using 500 Pound Spiked Crusher already, don’t buy Mouse Mary O’Nette, save your gold for a better one.
As stated, I am using Marble Cheese with the Mouse Mary O’Nette + Target Base at Gnawnia instead of the recommended Cheddar since the attraction bonus from the High Tension Spring was lost

5) Once you are Apprentice. Stock up Marble Cheese and travel to Harbour. You can either use your left overs Cheddar at Harbour then swtich to Marble or you can sell it to buy more Marble. Stay hunting there until you reach Journeyman.
I travelled as soon as i could to Harbour, bought the Mouse Trebuchet, and switched to Swiss Cheese

6) Buy Stone Base as soon as you can afford it. Although this upgrade you will lose 20% Accuracy bonus, the power increase makes it a worthy upgrade.
I bought the Stone Base for it’s extra power only when i travelled to Harbour as the mouse there are more vicious. The attraction boost from the Target base was more important in the town of gnawnia. Swiss Cheese works wonders here.

7) Mouse Trebuchet vs. Mouse Rocketine. Mouse Trebuchet will be a better choice despite that it is less powerful. It is a more balanced trap overall and it is cheaper. If you are already using Mouse Rocketine, stick with it until you can buy better.
i bought the mouse trebuchet and it works fine, the extra 50 power from the rocketine isn’t worth the setbacks at all.

8) Travel to Mountain once you are Journeyman, hunt with Marble until you have Swiss Army Mouse Trap and Explosive Base (Exp). You should consider changing your bait to Swiss Cheese after the upgrades if you still don’t have the Laboratory Map Piece from a Ninja mouse. Or you can simply try your luck with Marble and save the gold for your next trap.
I changed to Swiss Cheese as soon as I got to Harbour as an apprentice, 3 ninja mice and 4 pirate mice in a day, works really well i’d say.

(10th March 09) Upgraded to Swiss Army Mouse Trap while still an Apprentice at 40%, got a Polar Base from the Mousehunt birthday giveaway so i’m skipping the explosive base. Still using Swiss Cheese to great success at Harbour.

(11th March) Bought the Party Hat from Ronza as i’m getting the Mouse Deathbot next to upgrade to Partybot (someone asked me if the partybot could be sold, the answer is no).

(15th March) Reached Journeyman and should have travelled immediately to the Mountains. I stayed behind in Harbour with friends.

(18th March) Travelled to the Mountains with friends, still using swiss cheese with swiss army trap with polar base. caught a zombie mouse on the second horn and caught a ninja with the laboratory map in the same day, quite lucky i’d admit

9) NVMRC Forcefield Trap (FF) vs. Mouse DeathBot (DB). FF will be a better choice. Slighty less powerful, but it is the luckiest trap you can buy now. Sometimes it seems like luck is all you need to catch a powerful mouse.
I would have bought the Forcefield but since Ronza was around to sell the Party Hat, the DeathBot has become a better choice. Combining the deathbot and party hat gives you the PartyBot (luck:25) which is better than the Forcefield which is better than the Mouse Deathbot

10) If you have the reach Master already and still don’t have the map piece, you should really consider changing your bait to Swiss or even Brie if you are desperate although not recommended.
I switched to Swiss a long long time ago, i recommend doing that as it speeds up your leveling up a whole lot by attracting more mice.

(24th March) Bought the Partybot and am currently testing the effectiveness of it with Brie cheese at the Mountains. I’m also trying to reach Master as fast as I can with Brie as gold is not an issue anymore! Presently a 70% Journeyman.

(26th March) Have been catching a mouse Every single horn call and trap check since using the Partybot and Brie Cheese. Incredible.

(28th March) Reached Master. Starting to feel the pinch of using Brie cheese. It isn’t much improvement over the Swiss cheese i realise, but i’m hoping the increased attraction rate will help me get a rare mouse. Should move to the Laboratory immediately but once again, i’m staying behind at the Mountains with friends.

11) Travel to Laboratory when you reached Master and have the map. Use Swiss as your initial bait. It is very important to stock up as many cheese as possible before you goto Lab because the travel cost is very expensive. Stay hunting at Lab until you have both the Key to Digby from a Dwarf mouse and Tattered Mousoleum Cloth from a Zombie mouse.

(1st April) Travelled to Laboratory and hunted with the partybot with brie cheese.

(2nd April) Collected 10 radioactive blue curd potions and looted the key and map.

12) While you are hunting in Lab, it is time to stock up SuperBrie+ (SB) so you can convert them to Radioactive Blue (RB) later. There are many ways to obtain SB, the easiest way is to donate, other then that, you can do buy some and win some on the fourm. BUT DON’T BEG! No one like begger!

13) Once you have obtained the key and the cloth, stay in lab untill you have at least 15 potions, if you plan to stay in Mousoleum (Moz) for awhile, you should stock up more potions, maybe around 30 or even more. Before you travel to Moz, buy a shadow trap from Town of Digby.

(2nd April) Travelled to the Mousoleum and started hunting with the partybot and radioactive blue cheese. not having very good results so far, been pillaged by 4 vampires and 3 lycans.

(3rd April) Seems my luck has improved, caught a Lycan Mouse this morning with the Shredded Furoma Map Piece!

(3rd April) Caught a Monster Mouse at midnight! on the 87th piece of radioactive blue used at the mousoleum. The partybot really works better than the portals.

14) Sinister Portal (Sin) vs. Ambrosial Portal (Amb). This is very debatable, but my choice will be Sin because in Moz, I don’t have any trouble attracting mouse, but I have a really hard time catching them and power is what you need to catch them. Both very similiar, doesn’t really matter what you choose.

15) Try to stay as long as you can in Moz, convert your SB to RB one potion at a time, keep looking for SB until you get your Lycan mouse with Shredded Furoma Map Piece.

16) Once you have your map piece from Moz, you can either stay in Moz until you reach Grandmaster. Or if you hate looking for SB on the forum, you should use up all your SB then move to lab until you are Grandmaster.

Travel to the Training Grounds once you’re a Grandmaster and Buy the Zugzwang’s Last Move trap!
(21st April) Moved to the Training Grounds and am using the Zugzwang’s Last Move trap with Polar Base. Attraction and catch rates are abysmal.. Only caught one Samurai and one Archer mouse in 20 horn calls.
(23rd April) Looted the Ticket to the Burroughs Bazaar from an Archer Mouse and immediately travelled to the Bazaar to repair my Furoma Map. After sending the order for the repair I travelled to the Laboratory to loot potions. Gained the golden shield which added 7 to my luck, causing a significant increase in potion drops.
(24th April) Collected my Furoma map and am now hunting at the Dojo.
(24th April) Been on a token looting streak, token count is now 5 Token of the Cheese Belt, 2 Token of the Cheese Claw and 5 Token of the Cheese Fang. Currently at 34% Grandmaster.
(25th April) A good run at the Dojo

Bought the Obelisk of Slumber trap upon arrival at the Catacombs. Am now waiting for 12 pieces of Scrap metal before I can craft the final Arcane Capturing Rod Of Never Yielding Mystery (ACRONYM) trap.
