RotMG Moving While Confused Guide by Grakkus
Okay so you decided you may want to get a better handle on navigating while confused, well there are 3 ways to do so: 1. You are tired of dieing form running towards something you are trying to get away from. 2. You want to be a bamf at navigating while confused, making the wine cellar easier, crystals easier etc. Or 3. You are looking for a quick fix that will help you move in a general direction while confused so that you can get some shots in, dodge better, etc.
I have separated out each section accordingly, go to that section for a small tutorial on the navigation.
The “a” key has the function of the “s” key so if you are just looking to back out of a fight real quick like say maybe a crystal, press the key that you use to mmove your character left (ussually the a key for most people, it is the default), and you will back out right away.
Expert navigation, this will not come easily.
Here is the map out of what confused does. For writing purposes I am using the default keys for navigation. If you are looking to become an expert at navigating while confused, you can change your controls to exactly what they are when you are confused, and then once you get the handle of the new controls and are able to go kill some gods, etc without losing total control, you should be able to navigate while confused pretty well.
“a” – normally moves your characters left, whilst confused, it moves your character down.
“w” – normally moves your characters up, whilst confused, it moves your character right.
“s” – normally moves your characters down, whilst confused, it moves your character left.
“d” – normally moves your characters right, whilst confused, it moves your character up.
“q” – normally rotates the screen left around your character. While you are confused it rotates the screen right.
“e” – normally rotates the screen right around your character. While you are confused it rotates the screen left.

This is the quick navigation guide, the point of this is to be able to roughly choose which direction to go fairly easily while confused with absolutely no effort put in. The trick to this is to move in diaganals, and to not rotate the screen. Rotating the screen makes a chaotic spin in the wrong direction if you arent very good with the controls, but pressing 2 of the buttons at once, example: “w” and “d” would normally move you up(for the w) and right(for the d). But while confused it moves you up(for the d) and right(for the w). So moving in a diagonal to the top right is the same 2 keys while confused as when not confused. This same trick works for the a and the s key, moving you towards the bottom left. BUT the other 2 diaganol directions are switched around. So, moving in diaganols is significantly easier than trying to move in a single direction.
This tutorial was made relatively quick, and in the spur of the moment for the good of the community. If you have any other tips that should be added to this, then please post a comment. Thanks!Other Realm of the Mad God (RotMG) Articles
