DK Online Sorceress Emtlant Bosses Guide

DK Online Sorceress Emtlant Bosses Guide by shoptrader20

Basically this is a guide from a sorceress’ viewpoint on Emtlant Bosses or bosses that drop Emtlant vouchers, sorted by their level. It is a simple breakdown of what you should do if you want to fight these bosses. I will update this post with screenshots of boss’ spawn points and some of the missing stats when i log in again.

Note: I will not make a guide for Ledise/Raden bosses because

1. I’m level 42, so I cannot give an accurate suggestion for strategies
2. There aren’t many bosses for low levels. Raden bosses are mostly in temple, which, except for Inaferus (due to her stuns), can all be soloed by using the pet and physical attacking.

Expected skill sets
The key to challenging bosses is to have a good sword (yes sword!) and staff, summon with mastery and mettle level 3 and fireball level 3. Call lightning (of any level) and Haste level 1 is also recommended. Always remember that where possible, use your sword to melee for better dps. The faster you kill, the safer you are, because you can never know when the boss might suddenly kill your pet faster than you can heal it. DO NOT EVER CAST EARTHBIND ON A BOSS AS YOU WILL GET AGGRO. If you are advised to party with a Shadowmage (SM), make sure the SM has aspect buffs, and group heal (it is able to heal your pet)

Your pet is the key
Your pet is your tank. If you are soloing, the worst situation is to lose your pet, either by depleting its health, losing the summon mettle due to time out, or its remaining time. ALWAYS ensure you have at least 10 minutes on your time bar (1/3 of time bar) or any safer time limit you would like. Resummon and rebuff where necessary.

How to lure a boss
Although it is not necessary, it is recommended to first configure your pet commands in the configuration option. For example in my case, i put Pet attack = alt +1, pet defend = alt +2, etc. To lure a boss, make sure you are in a range that your pet wont warp back to you (happens if you are too far from the boss). Command the pet to attack the boss. Once you see a ! appearing from the boss, command the pet to defend so that it runs back to you. If you were fighting a slow boss, make sure to repeatedly do it so that they don’t stop chasing halfway. Always lure a boss to a safe area with no mobs or non-aggroing mobs when you are soloing a boss.

What to do if you lose your pet
Always note the danger sign: if your pet has 1k or less hp, start running. Don’t pray for your pet to dodge the next hit, it can determine a life or death situation. Always switch to Defender buff immediately when you start running. Also, remember to take note if you have your haste on, it’s your most important getaway skill from most bosses.

Using this guide
Remember this is just a guide made from my opinion. You may attempt to break grounds by doing something unexpected or totally different from this guide. Note that whenever I wrote Sorc/melee, it means to use your sword and physically attack. Likewise where I wrote Sorc/ranged, it means you have to stay at a distance and use your staff and cast fireball/whirlwind (if you have). If it’s written Sorc/(weapon)/stun, it means that you have to cast call lightning as frequently as possible due to boss’ difficulty.

Orc Base Bosses

Basto
Alias: Orc Vice-Chief
Level 35
HP: 47540
MP: 28524
Note: Unstunnable
Drops: Basto’s Ring

Strategy:
Solo mode – At least level 35 sorc/melee
Party – At least level 30 sorc/melee + SM, or level 35 sorc with any class
This boss is a straightforward boss. The only annoying part is that there tends to be lots of mobs gathered around the area. You only need to pull it to a safe zone and start meleeing to kill him fast. Heal whenever your pet is nearing half life and you should be fine. If you are a level 30 sorc, it can be a bit tricky, so make sure you have a SM buffing def/evasion and occasionally healing the pet when need be. My favourite area to pull to is towards the water areas, as there are usually less mobs.

Murai
Alias: Orc Great Chief
Level 35
HP: 50170
MP: 30102
Note: Unstunnable
Drops: Murai’s Sword (Broadsword)

Strategy:
Solo mode – At least level 40 sorc/melee (slightly difficult)
Party – At least level 35 sorc/melee + SM and/or with any class
Murai can sometimes be tricky. He may suddenly hit your pet with unnerving accuracy, or he may miss for many rounds. However, he is easier to pull out than Basto as there are less mobs inside the base

Pantera Bosses

Sural
Alias: Pantera Healer
Level 36
HP: 52800
MP: 31680
Note: Has a burn DOT AOE/unstunnable
Drops: Sural’s Staff

Strategy:
Solo mode – At least level 40 sorc/ranged
Party – At least level 35 sorc/ranged + any RANGED class OR at least level 35 sorc/ranged + SM and/or any class

Sural is an easy boss with reasonable HP. The only difficulty is her aoe burn, which is alarmingly painful, so you have to always stay at ranged.

(i know this is a bad example because I was meleeing it XD)

Ventus
Alias: Pantera Arch Khan
Level 36
HP: 55530
MP: 33318
Note: Has a stun AOE/unstunnable
Drops: Ventus’ Broadsword

Strategy:
Solo mode – At least level 40 sorc/ranged
Party – At least level 35 sorc/ranged + any RANGED class OR at least level 35 sorc/ranged + SM and/or any class

Same strategy and pretty much the same difficulty as Sural. You should always pray that it uses its AOE, because it never stuns the elemental. This is pretty straightforward and you only have to use ranged dps to win.

Desert Bosses

Antless
Alias: Ant Queen
Level 38
HP: 63948
MP: 38364
Note: has a stun AOE and VERY HIGH BURN DOT AOE/unstunnable
Drops: Antless’ Earring

Strategy:
Solo mode – At least level 35 sorc/ranged
Party – At least level 35 sorc/ranged + any RANGED class OR at least level 35 sorc/ranged + SM and/or any class

Just like all aoe bosses, the strategy is to stay way back and hit it at range. This one is easy because you only have to run all the way to back of her spawn area, since no mobs ever spawn in her… nest. The other good thing is she only has one spawn point, so you can never miss her unless someone got there before you. Make sure you won’t get hit by the burn aoe because it can kill you in one move (30 seconds of about 400 damage DOT @@)

Cortheus
Alias: Scorpion King
Level 38
HP: 63940
MP: 38364
Note: has a stun AOE/unstunnable
Drops: Cortheus’ Earring

Strategy:
Solo mode – At least level 40 sorc/ranged
Party – At least level 35 sorc/ranged + any RANGED class OR at least level 35 sorc/ranged + SM and/or any class

Very similar to Antless, except that it tends to spawn among a crowd of elite mobs, so I recommend having a level 40 sorc so that the pet has more hp to survive the boss as you kite around or cc any incoming mobs.

Zeek

Strategy:
Solo mode – At least level 35 sorc/melee/stun
Party – At least level 30 sorc/melee/stun + SM, or level 35 sorc with any class

Zeek usually spawns around yellow named mobs, so you can freely hit it without fear of getting the aggro of any nearby mobs. The reason there’s no note on this boss is because he totally does NOTHING other than physical attack. You may also stun him when things are not looking good, just to catch you some precious time to heal your pet.

Leko
Drops: Leko’s Armor OR Leko’s Robe

Strategy:
Solo mode – At least level 35 sorc/melee/stun
Party – At least level 30 sorc/melee/stun + SM, or level 35 sorc with any class

Similar to Zeek, except he is in an area filled with red mobs, so be careful of mob aggros. It’s usually better to pull him to the valley between Leko and Berr’s camps so that there are less mob around to interfere your duel.

Berr
Note: moves VERY SLOWLY
Drops: Berr’s Gloves OR Berr’s Robe Gloves

Strategy:
Solo mode – At least level 35 sorc/melee/stun
Party – At least level 30 sorc/melee/stun + SM, or level 35 sorc with any class

EXACTLY like Leko, this boss can be fought directly without any problems after you pulled him to a safe area. Make sure to repeatedly pull him because he moves so slowly that he may sometimes give up the chase when your pet has fled too far.

Lake Of Illusion Bosses

Karoo
No alias
Level 40
HP: 75920
MP: 45552
Note: has FAST attack speed
Drops: Karoo’s Boots OR Karoo’s Robe Boots

Strategy:
Solo mode – At least level 40 sorc/melee/stun (not recommended)
Party – At least level 40 sorc with SM and/or any class

This boss has the fastest attack speed among all bosses. It is therefore not recommended to solo, because there’s a very high likelihood that the boss will outdps your heal. However, with a party, this boss is actually pretty easy since it does not have aoe or any outstanding skills. Use stuns frequently to pause his attacks momentarily.

Antares
Alias: Froak Ruler
Level 40
HP: 79078
MP: 47442

Strategy:
Solo mode – At least level 40 sorc/melee/stun
Party – At least level 40 sorc with SM and/or any class

Antares doesn’t have any unique abilities, but he is usually located near many red mobs. A good place to pull him to is to the very edge of the map near the cliffs where mobs rarely venture into.

Bonesaw
Alias: Froak Ruler
Level 40
HP: 79495
MP: 46497
Note: has aoe stun
Drops: Plutan’s Necklace

Strategy:
Solo mode – At least level 40 sorc/ranged/stun (not recommended)
Party – At least level 40 sorc with SM and/or any class

This boss is usually near its Froaks subordinates (red mobs), so it can be difficult to challenge him on solo since his hp is pretty high and in the time taken to kill him, you may end up aggroing a nearby red mob. Go with a party to clear this boss faster and safely.

Mandryl
Alias: Froak Ruler
HP: 80645
MP: 48387
Drops: Mandryl’s Necklace

Strategy:
Solo mode – At least level 40 sorc/melee/stun
Party – At least level 40 sorc with SM and/or any class

Among the 3 brothers (aka Antares, Mandryl, Plutan/Bonesaw), Mandryl is the easiest boss to deal with even with its high hp, as it does not have any unique abilities and you can easily pull it to the npc camp nearby where mobs generally don’t tread on. You only have to look out for the red mobs nearby. Other than that, this should be no problem.

Cursed Cemetery Bosses

Vena
No alias
Level 41
HP: 82220
MP: 49332
Drops: Vena’s Helmet OR Vena’s Hood

Strategy:
Solo mode – At least level 40 sorc/melee/stun
Party – At least 2 level 35 sorc/melee/stun, or level 40 sorc with any class

Despite its weak attack, Vena’s high hp forces you to make sure your pet’s health stays at a safe zone, otherwise things may go bad when her attacks consecutively hit. ALWAYS use call lightning whenever you have the chance to stop her bit by bit so that you can maintain the pet’s hp. The good part about this boss is that there’s plenty of safe zones to pull the boss to.

Nake
No alias
Level 41
HP: 84390
MP: 50635
Drops: Nake’s Shield

Strategy:
Solo mode – At least level 40 sorc/melee/stun
Party – At least 2 level 35 sorc/melee/stun, or level 40 sorc with any class

The strategy is pretty much like Vena, because they behave exactly the same. Beware of the elite mobs that spawn around his area.

Xarthox
Alias: Lich King
Level 41
HP: 86566
MP: 51939
Note: has AOE stun/unstunnable
Drop: ???

Strategy:
Solo mode – At least level 40 sorc/ranged (not recommended)
Party – At least level 40 sorc with SM and/or any class

Although the boss CAN be soloed, he has a high regen rate, which would take up too much time, during which a mob can easily come to you and start attacking you. Therefore I do not recommend soloing this boss. This boss has a pretty strong AOE stun, so if you were partying melee attackers, make sure a SM is available to back them up. I’ve yet to loot ANYTHING from this boss despite 4 attempts, so I cannot reveal what exactly does this boss drop besides vouchers.

Thanks for reading this guide, and if there are any discrepancies, please feel free to post a reply to this thread. I will update some of the missing boss stats and screenshots when I’m free tomorrow.

Hello, I am shoptrader20 aka SkyRaker in game in DK Online back then, the former creator of this guide and the sorceress guide. I didn’t expect people to port the old DKO guides in here, so many thanks for this and bringing back memories. I understand DKO is just re-released on Steam, so I may go back there and try things out and maybe re-create new guides
