Dawn of the Dragons Player Types Guide

Dawn of the Dragons Player Types Guide by Angelus

Type

Energy Based:

OK well this is the most common in these sorts of games, the energy based person most puts all his STAT-points into energy, energy is the life force of growing your character and to advance further you need to be able to increase this. As quests get harder, having lots of energy is essential, but being an ‘Energy Based player’ you’ll have as well weaknesses from doing so. You will have less defence and attack and only what your equipment has will be added onto PVP fights.

Advantages

. Leveling up is easier.
. Quests are completed faster
. Completion of area’s are done quicker
. STAT-points come faster to put into other area’s quicker eventually.

Disadvantages

. Low attack skill (You’ll only get points from weapon or special attribute)
. Low defence skill (You’ll only get points from weapon or special attribute)
. You will be very weak when it comes to PVP (As of 13/05/10, I’m not sure how you’ll be in wars/skirmishes as it has not been released in the BETA yet)
. Lowish health, so you need to be careful

Skill point distribution for [Energy Based] users:

At level 100 you will have 495 STAT-points accumulated so far (Not account any crafting) so here is how I think you should be distributing those skills through out the levels:

1 – 20: All Energy **(100 energy)**
20 – 40: 80 Energy, 20 Health **(160 Energy – 200 Health)**
40 – 60: 60 Energy, 40 Health **(220 Energy – 400 Health)**
60 – 80: 80 Energy, 20 Defence **(300 Energy – 400 Health – 20 Defence)**
80 – 100: 60 Energy, 40 Defence **(360 Energy – 400 Health – 60 Defence)**

** Is your TOTAL amount you’ll have after spent all STAT-points

Other variants on this build:

Other Builds Recommended for Energy based:- FULL ENERGY

Of course there are also other modifications which can slightly change the [ENERGY BASED] build which can be changing the amount of Defence, Health and Attack and Energy. Play around and get the best one that suits you.

Final say on this build:

This build is suited for those who enjoy the whole “Dude, look at my level” people, you’ll be a high level but when it comes to attacking people via the PVP function, you will 90% of the time mostly LOSE. I cannot stress that enough, so pick this build if you want to be a high level and not really much else. The build helps you stay alive with the defence and the health bonus but like I said. This is a level show off.

Attack Based:

The Attack build is one that can take sometime but when you have a decent build with this you become a powerful player, as this is the BETA stages of this guide, it will be updated in future updates of the game. The purpose of an Attack build is so that when it comes to PVP and Skirmishes/wars, you end out 90% of the time on top of your opponent seeing that ‘Victory’ banner below.

Advantages

. PVP and other battles which require attack STAT will be your best feature
. You will win 90% of your battles (Dependant on level, equipment and build)
. Eventually you’ll be a force that when attack you’ll be feared and very important in guilds

Disadvantages

. Low defence skill (You’ll only get points from weapon or special attribute)
. Lower levelling speed, not great, speed but it could be worse.
. You have to use 2x points on Stamina which sucks.

Skill point distribution for [Attack Based] users:

At level 100 you will have 495 STAT-points accumulated so far (Not accounting any crafting) so here is how I think you should be distributing those skills through out the levels:

1 – 20: All Energy **(100 energy)**
20 – 40: 80 Attack, 20 Stamina **(100 Energy – 80 attack – 13 Stamina)**
40 – 60: 60 Attack, 20 Stamina 20 Health *(100 Energy – 140 Attack – 23 Stamina – 200 Health)**
60 – 80: 66 Attack, 20 Energy 14 Stamina *(120 Energy – 186 attack – 30 Stamina – 200 Health)**
80 – 100: 60 Attack, 20 Stamina, 20 Health *(120 Energy – 266 Attack – 40 Stamina – 300 Health)**

** Is your TOTAL amount you’ll have after spent.

Other variants on this build:

This build focuses on attack but has other areas of strength too, like energy which gives you the ability to advance in levels at a moderate rate. Feel free to play around with the STAT-points to give you the best build for your self.

For example, a higher attack and lower energy, stamina and health. You’ll advance slower and have less people to hit but you’ll be stronger. Just depends on how focused and patient you can be.

Of course there are also other modifications which can slightly change the [ATTACK] build which can be changing the amount of Attack, Health and Energy. Play around and get the best one that suits you.

Final say on this build:

I recommend this build for the long run, it is what you want to have in the future (As far as I can tell through BETA stages). You have great Attack power, ok Energy, enough Health and Stamina to use that Attack power, so its a good build. It just needs to be messed around with to be suited to your level of choice.

Defence Based:

The Defence Build is much like the Attack Build in a way, but you’ll have more energy and more defence. you won’t be attacking people much but you can survive through anything! Most people won’t be able to touch you in PVP but you’ll have to sacrifice attack skill.

Advantages

. Get your Defence skill high enough and no one will even damage you.
. Great defence, Nice health, great for someone who just wants to level and not fight.
. Level decently, quicker than the Attack build due to no Stamina waste

Disadvantages

. You won’t use PVP much because of no Attack points
. You’ll level slower than energy based but Faster than Attack based

Skill point distribution for [Defence Based] users:

At level 100 you will have 495 STAT-points accumulated so far (Not accounting any crafting) so here is how I think you should be distributing those skills through out the levels:

1 – 20: All Energy **(100 energy)**
20 – 40: 80 Defence, 20 energy **(120 Energy – 80 Defence)**
40 – 60: 60 Defence 20 Health 20 Energy **(140 Energy – 140 Attack – 200 Health)**
60 – 80: 80 Defence, 20 Energy *(160 Energy – 220 Defence – 200 Health)**
80 – 100: 60 Defence, 20 Energy, 20 Health **(180 Energy – 280 Defence – 300 Health)**

** Is your TOTAL amount you’ll have after spent all STAT-points.

Other variants on this build:

Other ways are changing the amount of defence and Energy you put in, I think this build could be done quite well on a 50/50 energy/defence combo,

Of course there are also other modifications which can slightly change the [DEFENCE BASED] build which can be changing the amount of Defence, Health and Energy. Play around and get the best one that suits you.

Final say on this build:

As DOTD is only in BETA, I can’t really say effective this build would be, it looks quite sound if you only want to level up, quest and protect your self from people in PVP. I’ll update when I know more!

ALL-Rounder

The all-rounder build doesn’t normally stand out… You have moderate amounts of everything, you progress ok, you have ok Attack/Defence/Stamina, amd you’ll do fairly ok in PVP. For anyone who is new to this sort of game I recommend playing this build on a first character to get the idea of the game mechanics.

Advantages

. Ok skills in all areas

Disadvantages

. You won’t excel in anything

Skill point distribution for [All-Round Based] users:

At level 100 you will have 495 STAT-points accumulated so far (Not accounting any crafting) so here is how I think you should be distributing those skills through out the levels:

1 – 20: All Energy **(100 energy)**
20 – 40: 1 Energy, 25 Defence, 25 Attack, 24 Stamina, 25 Health **(100 Energy 25 Defence, 25 Attack, 12 Stamina, 125 Health)**
40 – 60: 1 Energy, 25 Defence, 25 Attack, 24 Stamina, 25 Healthy **(100 Energy 50 Defence, 50 Attack, 24 Stamina, 150 Health)**
60 – 80: 1 Energy, 25 Defence, 25 Attack, 24 Stamina, 25 Health ***(100 Energy 75 Defence, 75 Attack, 36 Stamina, 175 Health)*
80 – 100: 1 Energy, 25 Defence, 25 Attack, 24 Stamina, 25 Health **(100 Energy 100 Defence, 100 Attack, 48 Stamina, 200 Health)**

** Is your TOTAL amount you’ll have after spent all STAT-points.

Other variants on this build:

Well not really much to say, you’re average if you do this, you don’t excel on anything but you’re still ok at everything. Like I said earlier, I recommend this for players whom are new and inexperienced to these sorts of games. After you have the feel, create a new player, play on that and pick something more ‘stand out’.

Of course there are also other modifications which can slightly change the [ALL-ROUND BASED] build which can be changing the amount of Attack Defence, Health and Energy and Stamina. Play around and get the best one that suits you.

Final say on this build:

Basic, basic, basic, for newbies who wanna’ learn how to play… Just play this for a while and get the hang of it.
