Destiny Bounty Complete Guide by Dudebot121256

Overcharge

Kill two enemies with one shot using a fusion rifle, 20 times.
The easiest way to do this is to load up The Dark Within on Old Russia, Earth. Once you reach the factory area, you will be charged by 3-4 sets of thralls. Kill them and let yourself die, rinse and repeat as necessary.

  • Overcharge can be done in the dark beyond without killing yourself. As long as you don’t kill the acolytes outside the door, the thralls will keep coming in groups of 4.
  • Alternately, overcharge is significantly easier to get at the “We’ve woken the Hive” doors in The Dark Beyond on the Moon. You can rack up 50% of the bounty on each wave. 60 seconds in and out.

Face Yours Fears

Kill 3 devil walkers.
To accomplish this, you must land the killing blow to the devil walker. To easily do this, navigate your way to the Rocketyard, Old Russia during Patrol Cosmosdrone. Play your way through the factory area just like in The Devil’s Lair until you reach where the Devil Walker spawns in. One will be waiting so kill it. Once it dies, go back to orbit and repeat twice more.

  • After you blow off one of the legs (especially when it is low on health) and it is down and exposed…use a sniper rifle to finish it off. Good sniper should hit for 1200+ damage per shot.
  • You do not need to land the killing blow on walkers, me and my friends all got credit as long as we were close enough when the walker died.

{No Parley}/Fallen Leaders

{Kill 10 Fallen Ultras} or Majors.
This can be accomplished easily by navigating to the Divide on Old Russia, Earth. A ship will bring in a new Fallen ultra every 30-60 seconds.

  • The easiest way is to play the mission where you go onboard the kell to kill Draksis… There are more than 10 majors on this mission so if you speedrun it – you should get your kills.
  • For fallen leaders I just did the loot cave. That big guy that rolls out counts as one and it has a decent spawn rate.
  • My method for the fallen leaders, gonna copypaste from my post a few days ago: Venus Patrol, Ishtar Cliffs: Right when you get in, there’s about a 150m square area with 4-5 spawn points of Fallen. If you see them fighting Vex, that’s as far as you want to go. You can do a few rounds. There’s a Captain, Reaver Vandals, Reaver Dregs, Reaver Shanks who will have respawned by the time you get back to them. All of them count for Majors, and all but the Cap give you 20 of the tears or seeds or whatever the kill XP was called. If you don’t know how to get there, go down-right from where you spawn on patrol, past the first set of Fallen, towards the next (not the ones on the cliff), straight past them, until you get to that room with the Servitor, turn left on the road before that room, and just follow the path, half a min later you’re at the Cliffs. Takes maybe 3 min to get there, 5 min to complete bounty.
  • The easiest way to do ‘Kill 10 Fallen Majors’, in my opinion, is to load up Patrol Cosmodrome, and scoot to the Forgotten Shore. Follow the right wall to the back of this area, near the big broken ship, and you’ll find a cave which spawns a Reaver Vandal and a Shank. Kill him, drive a short distance away, and he should pop out again. Easy.
  • There is a great spot where a ton of yellow Fallen enemies spawn in three different areas on Venus. There are some Vex as well in the area, but there’s a swamp/watery spot where at least one yellow (usually a yellow Dreg, sometimes multiple yellow Shanks or Vandals) will spawn, an area against a rocky cliff where two yellows (Vandals) will spawn, and another place where a yellow captain will get dropped off by a ship. This is by far the best non-mission place for yellow Fallen in my opinion. I wish I knew the exact name of the area off the top of my head, but it’s right before the spot where you fight the Vex Cyclops for the first time.

Exalted Hive

Kill 10 Hive Majors/Ultras (not yet listed above):
Load Patrol Cosmodrome and go straight to the little shack on your left where the closest beacon spawns. Down the stairs in the tunnel is a room with 3 majors. After you kill them go up the stairs and come back down and they will respawn. So fast. Also some tips for patrol missions: Pay attention to the icons. I prefer the kill/collect missions myself because I can usually kill faster than I can travel halfway across the map to scan something. Also don’t be afraid to just orbit and respawn if you’ve finished all the close missions and don’t want to go too far.

  • Killing 10 hive ultras isnt here? It’s easiest done on cosmodrome. First area go underground to where the two acolytes and the knight spawn, they are all lvl 18 ultras. kill them and go all the way back upstairs and back down again, they respawn immediately, when no other players are present.
  • For the Exalted Hive Kill bounty, the easiest way I’ve found to do it is to do the Shrine of Onyx (WE’VE WOKEN THE HIVE) mission on Level 9. Four exalted Hive will appear every time the door opens. Kill three of them, let the survivors finish you off, rinse repeat. Bonus points as it’s a small way to farm at the same time.

Extermination Protocol

Defeat 200 Fallen with headshots.
This can be easily done using any of the new farming methods.

  • Alternately, for the 200 Fallen headshots, I’d recommend going Patrol Venus, going left upon spawning, and farming headshots before going inside the Ember Caves. When you first arrive, there is a small group of 3 Randalls. Continuing straight, there are 3 Gregs and a Randall (at this point there should be Fallen above you on the platform shooting down at you). Head right towards the streams and boulders for 2 Gregs, 3 Randalls, and 2 Skanks. Keep walking up the hill towards the platform (under a little bridge) for another 3 Gregs and 2 Randalls. Lastly, upon entering the Ember Caves (this was a good loot spawn before the patch) there is a yellow-bar Captain, 3 Randalls, and a Skank. Head back to the first 3 Randalls in the middle of the ‘park’ and restart. You can do these small mobs in any order you would like, but the order I posted allows the spawns to cycle at a continuous rate. Levels are low-ish, and there are a ton of Spirit Bloom and chest spawns. The SB stick out like a sore thumb. Also, although believed to be randomized, I normally get 2 ‘Pyramid’ patrol missions out of a local 3 that can be completed within this park. That makes for ~20 Fallen within a minute. I know there are newer ‘loot cave’ spawn traps, but this method there is never any waiting or mindless staring. Different strokes / different folks.
  • I just farm the Devil’s Lair Strike. The part in the beginning where they come in waves makes for lots of easy headshots as they come toward you. Finish that part, then either complete the Strike (there’s plenty more Fallen throughout the Walker and Sepiks fights) or go to Orbit and do the waves again.

Relic Harvest – Mars

Collect 200 Olympic Tears on Mars.
Tears can be collected by killing any enemy on Mars. Regular enemies give you one tear, each major or ultra gives you 20 tears. A good way to collect a bunch is by doing the Dust Palace Strike on Mars.

  • For the Olympus Tears, I prefer the first mission on Mars, ‘The Exclusion Zone’, set to any level of heroic. You can get it done in less than ten minutes with all the major Cabal that spawn.
  • For Olympus tears, ether, impact shards, or anything like that, any heroic mode strike will net a ton of yellow enemies who reward 20-25 of the item each, allowing you to speedrun any mission and complete the bounty.
  • My personal method for farming relics on Mars is to locate the area where the Vex and Cabal are engaged in a firefight. You’ll know you’ve found the right group if there is one Minotaur surrounded by five-six goblins, and a random assortment of Cabal opposing them. This area is ahead and to the right of where you initially spawn on Mars. I usually go here because it seems that while you mop up one group, the other will usually spawn, and will alternate like so indefinitely. Just make sure to get far enough away from the other group’s spawn area.
  • Just do the first mars mission on hard. The second wave of enemies you fight is basicly 5-6 or whatever yellow mobs, who drop 25 tears each. Done in like 2 minutes.

Relic Harvest – Cosmodrome

Collect 200 ether seeds from enemies on Earth.

  1. Relic Harvest – Cosmodrone
  2. Go to story mission 2 Restoration
  3. Kill Riksis (worth 50 sensor mites) back to orbit without killing lesser mobs
  4. Re-enter at Riksis fight
  5. Repeat killing Riksis 4 times
  6. Mission complete elapse time 1:15 (if initial setup is require 2:30)
  7. Repeat 5 times for No Parley bounty killing Riksis and Major Vandel (elapse time 4:15) > (requires setting on level 8 or higher Heroic)

Body Dropper

Kill 100 enemies without dying.
Again, self-explanatory, simply kill 100 enemies without dying. It’s easy if you load up Patrol Cosmodrome on Old Russia, Earth and simply run the circuit of nearby enemies.

  • My favorite way to complete “Body Dropper” Is to go to the shipyard in Old Russia (Forget exactly what it’s called) and Hop up on the very top of the structure that contains the second Transmitter that the fallen are guarding. It’s not the quickest way to complete it, and I ended up using a lot of Special Ammo Synthisizers, but it was enjoyable nonetheless. I think I ended up there for about an hour and a half, I completed the bounty petty fast, the rest of the time I spent just waving at all the level 3’s and 4’s as they came in to scan the transmitters and help them out when they got in a tight spot. And participate in public events from that spot. And annoyingly dance with people that are halfway across the map. Good times.

Patrol Cosmodrome/Moon/Venus/Mars

Complete 6 Patrol missions in the [above area].
Simply load up Patrol mission for whatever planet you’re doing. Keep going through the little beacons and completely the missions until the bounty completes.

Tip: VIP missions are worth 25 vanguard rep while the others are worth 10.

Unstoppable

Earn 9000 Experience without dying. (Does not include Bounty XP reward.)

Vex Minds

Kill 10 Vex Majors or Ultras.

  • For “Vex Minds” I found the best area to get this done is the Winter’s Run strike. When you are opening the door at the bottom of the hill/in front of the massive ship there are waves of Vex enemies, the first has 3 Axis Minotaurs, the second has a bunch number of Ultra/Major Hobgoblins and the last wave has 2 Ultra/Major Hydras. I believe there was enough to get it done in a single run.

Walking Tall

Complete any Strike without dying.

The quest structure of the Bounty may differ from player to player; in some cases, the player can find “A Recalcitrant Gun” directly from the loot chests in the first phase of the tasks. Therefore, the structure is so far confirmed as follows:

Additional Notes

  • Scourge of Winter story mission where you defeat Draksis has 9 Fallen Majors. On the way there will be a captain at the entrance to the cave making 10. Or you could run circles around Ember Caves, that captain respawns with surprising frequency. Both of those methods should net you 200 Ether from Fallen, 200 Venus items and the headshots, 100 no die, and lots of exp towards 9000exp no die, along with 10 Fallen Majors. Similarly The Worlds Grave level on the Moon works in a similar fashion but for Hive.
  • Just a note, completing the weekly nightfall strike will give you a week long buff that increases exp and rep gains by 25%.
  • When you do a story mission for a bounty where you have to kill a certain enemy, do not finish the mission and go back to the orbit. The next time you do it you will spawn at the last checkpoint, so you can kill it faster next time.
  • For Fallen Walkers, if you are standing close to the person who deals the killing blow you will get credit. It is based of the whole proximity to team mates thing, not the mob. Just hug dicks if you are doing it in a group and you’ll save bucket loads of time.
  • Don’t know if it was mentioned but many of these bounties can be combo’d. For example – Relic harvest + patrols + 100 enemies without dying + 30 melee kills without dying can all be completed while knocking out the patrols.
  • My favorite spot for bounties is that first cave when you go the left route on Venus. I can spend an hour there and finish about 4 bounties as well as collect a shit ton of spirit bloom. It’s good for killing 100 fallen, 10 fallen ultras/majors, fallen headshots, and fusion rifle quests. Just keep circling around the cave and kill the enemies as you go. There’s a ton of weak fallen enemies to down quickly + the fallen major respond everytime you make that short route (less than a minute). Another + is that there’s sometimes a world event walker right in that spot so you can do a few of those as well. No need to go to orbit and you can knock out 3-4 bounties in one area. Also I prefer killing the Devils walker by going to him in the cosmodrome patrol. You can totally sparrow all the way to him. No need to fight the waves of fallen/hive like you do on the actual strike and he’s waaaay easier. As a 27 I can solo him in about three minutes. Hope this helps :)
