For anyone interested in taking up the month-or-more-long grind for Legendary-rank equipment, I’ve decided to type up a quick info and reference guide to help others along in their decisions in the place to grind. Just to be clear, this guide is about the original and regular Ancient Dungeons.

When at the proper level, each of the Ancient Dungeons has a daily/limited quest available where you need to accumulate quest drops plus material drops. You can grab more of the quest drops before completing the quest, enough to complete 4 days worth. For example: 12 Corrupt Bloods needed, you can gather up to 48. Running the dungeons on a higher difficulty (Hard is recommended at most because the HP jumps up so much on Ultimate) increases the quest item drop rate, but it’s generally not guaranteed. Treasure Hunter’s Potions help this along, though.

Completing the daily will yield one material/quest item you need to get one of the equipment pieces. Depending on what equipment you want, they will cost 30, 40, or 50 of that item, per equipment piece. It’s quite a grind if you want a full set of something, but in pretty much all cases it’s cheaper and more reliable than trying to get an equivalent Epic. Stat-wise, Legendaries have slightly higher stats than Uniques of the same level, about 2-3 levels higher.

Legendary Equipment

Here’s the list of equipment you can get: (all listed with superior special stats if applicable)

King’s Ruin – 40 Ancient Kingdom Gold Coins + 70 Borodin Seals (Quest, Limit 3)

  • Great Glory Necklace

Lv.70 — All Elemental Resist +15, All Elemental Damage +15

  • Great Glory Bracelet

Lv.70 — P/M Criticals +2%

Attack Damage +9%

  • Great Glory Ring

20% chance when attacked to increase Str/Int +75 for 20s, Lv.75 Stun for 3s on all enemies in 200px range (Cooldown 30s)

Vilmark – 40 Glowing Terranites (Quest, Limit 1 each)

  • Heartrending Grief Top

Lv.72 — 500px aura of Str/Int +80 on allies

  • Heartrending Grief Bottom

    Lv.72 — 500px aura of P/M Attack +33 on allies

  • Heartrending Grief Shoes

Lv.72 — Move Speed +6%, Evasion +2%

500px aura of P/M Critical +6% on allies

  • Set: Heartrending Grief Armor Set

Consumes 1 Black Cube Fragment to add +20% damage for 15s (Cooldown 20s, activates 10s after equip)

Screaming Cavern – 40 Vengeful Residual Reflections + 300 Nugol Eyes (Quest, Limit 2)

  • Buried Scream Memory (Subequip)

Lv.74 — +1 to Lv.40-70 skills

  • Buried Scream Crystalline (Magic Stone)

Lv.74 — Fire+Light Damage +28, or Water+Shadow Damage +28, or All Elemental Damage +28 (Cooldown 20s)

  • Set: Buried Scream Special Equipment

3% chance on attack to decrease defense of enemies by -10% in 150px range for 5s (Cooldown 20s)

If at 50% HP or less, enemies in 350px range lose 10% HP every 20s

-2% HP every 10s (activates 10s after equip)

Noire Ferra – 40 Impostor Reports + 450 Apostle’s Remnants (Quest, Limit 2)

  • Gracia Family Heirloom (Weapon)

Lv.76 — +1 to Lv.40-70 skills, Add Light Attribute, +18 Light Damage

Ghost Train – 30 Counter Spells (Luther’s Shop)

  • Sea God’s Cursed Top

Lv.78 — Fire Resist -7, Water Damage +7

5% chance on attack to give +80 Str/Int to self for 10s (Cooldown 12s)

  • Sea God’s Cursed Bottom

Lv.78 — Fire Resist -7, Water Damage +7

+1 to Lv.1-45 skills

  • Sea God’s Cursed Shoulder

When stunned by enemies, puts Lv.83 Curse -50 for 5s on all enemies (Cooldown 10s)

3-piece — +70 all stats

Consumes 1 Heavenly Pearl to grant Water Attribute for 30s (Cooldown 30s)

5-piece — HP/MP +250, Attack/Cast Speed +3%, Move Speed +2%

+20% damage on Cursed enemies

In 500px range, puts Lv.83 Curse -50 for 5s on nearest enemy (Cooldown 10s)

If at 12% HP or less, consumes 1 Evil Spirit Whisper to set your HP to 88%, puts Lv.83 Curse -50 for 7s on all enemies (Cooldown 60s)

Reshpon – 40 Black Gems (Luther’s Shop)

  • Source of Disease Necklace

Lv.80 — Casting Speed +3%, Poison Resist +24

Casting Speed +0.7% per reinforce/amplify level up to +10

Str/Int +30 per reinforce/amplify level starting from +11 up to +15

3% chance on attack to Lv.85 Poison 1200 for 5s (Cooldown 5s)

  • Source of Disease Bracelet

Lv.80 — P/M Critical +3%, Bleed Resist +24

P/M Critical +0.7% per reinforce/amplify level up to +10

Str/Int +30 per reinforce/amplify level starting from +11 up to +15

3% chance on attack to Lv.85 Bleed 1200 for 4s (Cooldown 6s)

Here’s some info on the quests you need to run and the materials gotten from them.

King’s Ruin

6 Ancient Kingdom Vestige (quest item, drops up to 2 per run from Borodin, can store up to 24)

2 King Borodin Seal (material, drops from Borodin)

15 Ancient Knight’s Armament (material, drops from knights)

Vilmark

10 Victims’ Keepsakes (quest item, drops up to 9 per run from minibosses and boss, can store up to 40)

15 Terranite (material, drops from enemies)

Screaming Cavern

15 Sirocco’s Residue (quest item, drops up to 6 per run from minibosses and boss, can store up to 60)

8 Nugol Eye (material, drops from nugols)

After some continuous running of ancients between a friend and myself, we’ve found probably what would be the best places to run, in the sense of the best material drop rate and quest drop rate: King’s Ruin, Vilmark, and Noire Ferra; if you happen to need some good legendaries but don’t have the time or gold to do the really annoying/low drop dungeons so many times over, those would be the recommended areas to grind at, I’d say.

Let me know if there’s some incorrect information here (translation is balls at times) and ALSO do you think it’d be a good idea to put up a list of which classes benefit most from whichever equips? Aside from just going 9-piece chronicles, that is. DK and Creator obviously benefits a ton from these in general but maybe some recommendations might help some folks that hate OV or only need 3/6-piece chronicles.
