MapleStory Cleric Guide by YujwoO

[x] Introduction
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
Heylo, this is YuhwoO (Korean word for “fox” – yes I am Korean ^^;;).

I’ve decided to make a Cleric Guide in order to help those who seek it…
These are my own opinions after much researching and playing…
You may or may not agree with what I have written – yet everyone is entitled to their own opinions…

Just to show that I do have some credibility. I have made 4 clerics and 1 cleric-to-be. I’ve had 2 clerics who are over Level 60. In case you wanted to know how experienced I am with a Cleric.

Please note that I do not play as the character “YuhwoO” anymore. If you see a “YuhwoO” it is not me. I repeat. YuhwoO in game is not me anymore.

[o] Starting Off (For all Magicians)
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
When you are creating your character, you will need to “throw” the dice in order to generate your stats. As a cleric (or wizard), you will want to “throw” as shown:

  • STR: 4
  • DEX: 4
  • INT: ##
  • LUK: ##

The important part is getting the “4” into STR and DEX. As a cleric (or wizard), INT is what gives us our power~ if you find it hard to get “4’s” in STR and DEX, it won’t kill you to settle for a “5” in one or the other (“4’s” are still preferred). If you really want, the more INT a magician has, a little bit more MP is earned per level up (although very slight), meaning you can aim for 10~12 INT when “throwing” the dice.

Another side-note: with STR at “4”, once you enter the game with your level 1 character, you will notice that you will be doing 1~3 damage. You will be struggling very early on with your low melee damage… Those killer snails (*tip* stay on Maple Island and kill the green snails until you reach level 8; not the blue and red snails).

Once you reach level 8, head over to Victoria Island (if you haven’t, yet) and talk to the man in the ticketing booth (his name is Phil) below the ship and buy yourself a ride to Ellinia. *Warning* Do not take the black V.I.P. taxi if this is your first time playing Maple Story. Talk to “Hines” (Old Man Grendel) who is at the very top building in Ellinia and become a Magician~ yay! *tip* make sure you have at least 20 INT, although you should have more then 20int at level 8.

=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
[x] Ability Points (For all Magicians)
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
Everytime you level up, you receive 5 AP (ability points). You have a choice of distributing your points into the following:

HP MP STR DEX INT LUK

A magician’s main focus centers in on INT and LUK. Ignore the rest. What you want to do is have your LUK 3pts above your current level. The rest of the ability points goes into INT. Let me rephrase this.

LUK = 3 points above your current level.
INT = you’re remaining ability points.

Example:

-Level 8-
STR – 4
DEX – 4
INT – 41
LUK – 11

-Level 30-
STR – 4
DEX – 4
INT – 151
LUK – 33

Why do we need LUK 3 points above our level? The reason is most equipment have minimum requirements that require LUK 3 points above your current level. Basically, have enough LUK to wear your equipment of choice. There are “lukless” cleric builds – however that is not covered in this guide.

[o] 1st Job Skills (For all Magicians)
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
– Improving MP Recovery (Max Level = 16) –
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
*With this, you’ll recover even more MP every 10 sec.
The Formula to detemine your MP recovery rate is as follows: [Character Level x (Skill Level / 10) ]+3 = MP Recovery Rate (rounded down).

  • Definitely Max this skill

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
– Improving Max MP Increase (Max Level = 10) –
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
*While having a Level UP, if AP is used on Max MP, it raises the level of increase for Max MP.
This is a very important passive skill for all magicians. Everytime a character levels up, they receive a small MP boost. However, for magicians, they are able to gain even more max MP capacity with points into this skill. The more MP, the better for a magician~

  • Max this ASAP (as soon as possible)
  1. 02 MP Bonus Every Level – 01 MP Bonus through AP
  2. 04 MP Bonus Every Level – 02 MP Bonus through AP
  3. 06 MP Bonus Every Level – 03 MP Bonus through AP
  4. 08 MP Bonus Every Level – 04 MP Bonus through AP
  5. 10 MP Bonus Every Level – 05 MP Bonus through AP
  6. 12 MP Bonus Every Level – 06 MP Bonus through AP
  7. 14 MP Bonus Every Level – 07 MP Bonus through AP
  8. 16 MP Bonus Every Level – 08 MP Bonus through AP
  9. 18 MP Bonus Every Level – 09 MP Bonus through AP
  10. 20 MP Bonus Every Level – 10 MP Bonus through AP

*tip* do not put any ability points into HP or MP. Put them into INT and LUK only.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
– Magic Guard ( Max Level = 20 ) –
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

*Temporarily replaces damage with MP instead of HP. If MP reaches 0, the HP takes a full hit.
Normally, if you receive damage, your HP declines. With Magic Guard, however, a certain percentage of the damage received is taken away from your MP. As a result, your HP will decline slower. For example, at max level, 80% of the damage received will be drained from MP. When hit with 100 dmg, MP will decrease by 80 and HP will decrease by 20.

The debate usually is: “Should I get Magic Guard or Magic Armor”
The answer is: Get Magic Guard

  • Magic Guard will prevent 1-hit death
  • Magic Armor doesn’t reduce alot of damage taken from a monster

*tip* (for clerics only) if one hit from a monster has the potential to kill you – activate magic guard. (for wizards only) get in the habit of activating magic guard before it runs out; have magic guard on at all times.

  • Max this skill. I would max this skill last.
  1. 04% damage to MP – 030 seconds MP -6
  2. 08% damage to MP – 060 seconds MP -6

  20. 80% damage to MP – 600 seconds MP -12

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
– Magic Armor ( Max Level = 20 ) –
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
*Temporarily boosts the weapon defense by blowing magic into the armor.
When you activate this skill, your weapon defense raises; you receive less damage. The bad thing about this skill is that it is not percentage based. What does this mean? The more you level up, the more meaningless this skill becomes. When maxed, you receive 40 more points to your weapon defense. This does not mean the following: if you get hit by a monster who normally does 100 dmg, you now receive 60 dmg only. This is false. False. Not true. The damage received is not decreased by alot.

  • Do not put any points into this skill. It is overshadowed later on by a skill called “Invincible”. Besides, Magic Guard would be a better choice then Magic Armor.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
– Energy Bolt ( Max Level = 20 ) –
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

*Use MP to attack one enemy.
This is one of the two offensive attacks that are given at the first job. After much testing: put in only one point into this skill. It is true that Energy Bolt has a higher base attack and costs less MP – however here are the reasons why you should only put in only one point into this skill:

  • Energy Bolt cannot fire through obstacles; Magic Claw is able to hit monsters through obstacles.
  • The firing rate of Energy Bolt is too slow: as a cleric, we are weaker then other classes in terms of “damage”. Therefore having a faster attack would be more useful to compensate our low damage.
  • The MP for each attack (Energy Bolt and Magic Claw) isn’t enough to make a huge dent in your MP later on; don’t max this skill because “it is more mana efficient”.
  • Only one point into this skill. Once you become a magician at level 8, your very first point should go into Energy Bolt. After that, no more points into Energy Bolt. If you do plan on maxing Energy Bolt, then zero or one points into Magic Claw.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
– Magic Claw ( Max Level = 20 ) –
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

*Use Mp to attack an enemy twice.
When you attack a monster, Magic Claw swipes at the monster twice. This skill can attack monsters through terrain and can be cast much faster then Energy Bolt. At max levels, Energy Bolt has a base damage of 55, while Magic Claw has base damage of two 40 attacks. This does not mean Magic Claw is one attack of base 80. That is false. Magic Claw is two seperate base 40 attacks.

  • Max this. Read above on “Energy Bolt” to see why. When maxing one of the skills, you can conserve some MP by saving your “Skill Points” at level 10, then dumping it all back in.

[x] Recap of 1st Job
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
*this build is for those who wish to level faster than normal – and are rich enough to fund themselves. This build consumes mp at a fast rate. At level 17, you may keep magic claw at level 10 until you have saved 10 SP points. The downside is that your claw does less damage, while the positive side is that you will save mp (hence mesos).

At level 8, in order to make “the most perfect cleric” you may skip energy bolt. Your first point would be put into Improving MP recovery and then following any path you wish mentioned above. The HUGE downside is that you will not have any magic attacking skill until a few more levels – you will be wacking at snails for abit longer. The upside is that you gain abit more MP. If you believe that this is worth the time – go for it. If you do not think that this is worth the time – put your first skill point into energy bolt.

[o] 2nd Job Skill (For Clerics Only)
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
– MP Eater ( Max Level = 20 ) –
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Soak up an enemy’s MP after every magic attack. But if its MP reaches 0, no more.
When you attack a monster, there is a chance that you will receive MP back – meaning there is a chance to reduce the MP cost of an attack.

This skill allows your MP to drain slower. This is especially useful when you are killing mobs with Heal and / or Shining Ray.

  • This skill is a good skill to max, but not a must. Reduces your MP pot useage, also… meaning more mesos saved~!
  • If you plan on partying alot in the future – you do not need this skill maxed. When you heal party members – you do not soak back MP. Therefore, MP eater would be useless when in a party; if you plan on healing/blessing/casting other cleric skills to your party members.

– Heal (Max Level = 30) –

*Recovers the HP of all party members around the area.
This is the skill clerics will be using the most. You can heal yourself, your party-member, and attack undead monster. Heal allows you to target up to 6 targets (including yourself). This is the only skill from your 1st and 2nd job that enables the user to attack multiple monsters / party-members; you can also use this skill in mid-air.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
– Invincible (Max Level = 20) –
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

*Temporarily decreases the weapon damage received. Doesn’t decrease the spell damage, however.
This skill reduces the physical damage received. A much better skill then Magic Armor because this skill is percentage based, instead of being a constant numerical boost. The less damage you receive, the more you can focus on attacking / heal attack.

  • Max this skill.

– Teleport (Max Level = 20) –
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
*Use the arrow keys to teleport to other places in the same map on a set distance. The higher the skill level, the less MP you spend.
Teleport can be used for fun, for avoiding monsters, or quicker access to places on the map. Having Max teleport saves alot of your MP. From experience, this skill is very useful when it is maxed.
*Tip* With Max Teleport, you will be able to go up and down the Monkey Forest 1, Tree Dungeon at a much faster rate. The faster you reach the Zombie Lupin Spawns, the faster you gain experience.
  • Definitely max this skill. Some people will argue that this skill only needs 1 point, however from experience, this skill is very useful at max. Less MP cost per use. And a side-note: Teleport is faster then maxed Haste.
  • The faster you are able to reach your party members – the better and safer for your party.
  • You should definitely learn to use teleport while training or while in a party. Later on, some of your skills take a moment to cast – and teleporting away from danger is a good tactic.
– Bless (Max Level = 20) –
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

*Temporarily increases the weapon def., magic def., accuracy and avoidability of all party members around the area. BUT, it can’t be used if combined with a skill or a potion.
Just like Magic Armor, this skill is numerically based. At least 1 point in this skill will negate the minus weapon defense from “Rage” (fighter’s skill). This is a decent party skill. However it is not an amazing skill. The additional boost into the weapon defense, magic defense, accuracy and avoidability is not normally needed, although other class may appreciate it. This skill benefits the warrior and thief class the most. The weapon, magic defense received is reduced only slightly – very minimal.
*Tip* This skill helps alot when you’re party is attacking a group of monsters that are higher levels then your party. For example, if a Fighter normally “MISS” on a monster, this skill may help reduce that.

[pros] good party skill
[cons] numerical based; you do not need every boost that this skill provides.

  • You may or may not max this skill, depending on the path you choose.
  • There are many low dex characters that will LOVE Bless. The best duo, supposedly, is the cleric + spearmen. A spearmen with low dex will definitely welcome bless.
  • Your party members will welcome any skills that help them – this is a good party skill.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
– Holy Arrow (Max Level = 30) –
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

*Fires holy arrows at an enemy. Applies major damage to the undeads and devil-based monsters.
Holy Arrow does additional damage when fired against an undead / dark monster. The plus side to this skill is the fact that you will be able to knock-back monsters that Magic Claw cannot. The additional 150% against undead / dark monster is useful, too. However, the negative side to this skill is that it is much more slower then Magic Claw, only targets one monster at a time, and Shining Ray from the 3rd Job easily overshadows this skill. Basically, for training purposes, this skill is not useful. Training at zombie lupins, wraiths, zombies, etc. is much faster and your Heal will target up to 5 monsters at a time. However, for hunting purposes, this skill can be of use.

  • You may or may not max this skill, depending on the path you choose.
  • Note that JMS and KMS have received a boost in damage.

[x] The Path of the Cleric
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
Here are the three basic path for a cleric. The path you choose is entirely up to you. You may even use your own path. This is a guide, not a law – the final decision is yours. So feel free to plug in you’re skill points anyway you like.
*Note* These ideas were based on research from a Korean Forum, my experience (my own thoughts) and debates with friends. If any of these paths match another cleric guide’s recommendation, it is pure coinicidence.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
– Cleric Path #1 –
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
*This is one of the two path I would recommend, especially for early levels. This path is probably the most safest path to follow. This is the build i recommend the most. This path will have have all skills maxed, except for Holy Arrow (11 points). The basic path is as follows: Max Heal, Max MP Eater, Max Teleport, Max Invincible, Max Bless, 11 points into Holy Arrow (or any other skill i.e. Magic Armor).

Level 30: Heal 01
Level 31: Heal 04
Level 32: Heal 07
Level 33: Heal 10
Level 34: Heal 13
Level 35: Heal 16
Level 36: Heal 19
Level 37: Heal 22
Level 38: Heal 25
Level 39: Heal 28
Level 40: Heal 30 / MP Eater 01 (Heal is Maxed)
Level 41: Heal 30 / MP Eater 04
Level 42: Heal 30 / MP Eater 07
Level 43: Heal 30 / MP Eater 10
Level 44: Heal 30 / MP Eater 13
Level 45: Heal 30 / MP Eater 16
Level 46: Heal 30 / MP Eater 19
Level 47: Heal 30 / MP Eater 20 / Teleport 02 (MP Eater is Maxed)
Level 48: Heal 30 / MP Eater 20 / Teleport 05
Level 49: Heal 30 / MP Eater 20 / Teleport 08
Level 50: Heal 30 / MP Eater 20 / Teleport 11
Level 51: Heal 30 / MP Eater 20 / Teleport 14
Level 52: Heal 30 / MP Eater 20 / Teleport 17
Level 53: Heal 30 / MP Eater 20 / Teleport 20 (Teleport is Maxed)
Level 54: Heal 30 / MP Eater 20 / Teleport 20 / Invincible 03
Level 55: Heal 30 / MP Eater 20 / Teleport 20 / Invincible 05 / Bless 01
Level 56: Heal 30 / MP Eater 20 / Teleport 20 / Invincible 08 / Bless 01
Level 57: Heal 30 / MP Eater 20 / Teleport 20 / Invincible 11 / Bless 01
Level 58: Heal 30 / MP Eater 20 / Teleport 20 / Invincible 14 / Bless 01
Level 59: Heal 30 / MP Eater 20 / Teleport 20 / Invincible 17 / Bless 01
Level 60: Heal 30 / MP Eater 20 / Teleport 20 / Invincible 20 / Bless 01 (Invincible is Maxed)
Level 61: Heal 30 / MP Eater 20 / Teleport 20 / Invincible 20 / Bless 04
Level 62: Heal 30 / MP Eater 20 / Teleport 20 / Invincible 20 / Bless 07
Level 63: Heal 30 / MP Eater 20 / Teleport 20 / Invincible 20 / Bless 10
Level 64: Heal 30 / MP Eater 20 / Teleport 20 / Invincible 20 / Bless 13
Level 65: Heal 30 / MP Eater 20 / Teleport 20 / Invincible 20 / Bless 16
Level 66: Heal 30 / MP Eater 20 / Teleport 20 / Invincible 20 / Bless 19
Level 67: Heal 30 / MP Eater 20 / Teleport 20 / Invincible 20 / Bless 20 / Holy Arrow 02 (Bless is Maxed)
Level 68: Heal 30 / MP Eater 20 / Teleport 20 / Invincible 20 / Bless 20 / Holy Arrow 05
Level 69: Heal 30 / MP Eater 20 / Teleport 20 / Invincible 20 / Bless 20 / Holy Arrow 08
Level 70: Heal 30 / MP Eater 20 / Teleport 20 / Invincible 20 / Bless 20 / Holy Arrow 11

*Explanation*

  • This build focuses on hard-core training. This is the reason why I wouldn’t recommend putting 1 point into MP Eater / Teleport during the first nine levels, although you may.
  • Why 1 point into Bless, after 5 points into Invincible? If you like to party, and a Fighter activates “Rage”, you will be able to negate the negative weapon defense with that 1 point Bless. This is not needed. You can max out Invincible right away, and put the point into Bless later.
  • Why Invincible first, and not Bless? I only maxed Invincible first in this guide, HOWEVER you can max Bless first and Invincible Later. Just remember that you do need at least 5 points into Invincible before being able to put a point into Bless. Again, I repeat. If you love to party, and want to max Bless first, before maxing Invincible – Go For It!
  • 11 points into Holy Arrow is very useless. So, instead of 11 points into Holy Arrow, you may want to invest in some other skill. For example, 11 points into Magic Armor (10 points would be meaningless because of maxed bless. 11 points into magic armor would give you +2 more def over maxed Bless. So if you want the extra +2 def. put 11 pts into Magic Armor). Or you can use these spare points to fix an earlier mistake.

*Training Areas*
These are the areas I would recommend. You may advance to the next spot earlier or later – depending on you. If you wish to gain experience faster, don’t loot – looting actually slows you down (until we get a Pet). At the Monkey Forest 1: Tree Dungeon – you will be able to gain meso from the good drops. If you want, you may even find a “looter” to party with you (max level at 34 if you wish to gain 100% experience from the Zombie Lupins). If you don’t care about gaining experience fast, or really need mesos, collecting the dolls and selling them is recommended. At B3 i recommend looting. This is where you should make your meso. You will be able to loot and kill for fast experience without a problem. At Zombies, you may or may not loot – your choice.

  • From level 30 to 40: I would recommend Ant Tunnel 1, Ant Tunnel 4, Wild Boars (early 30’s), Fire Boars (hunt for Glass Shoe and make some mesos) or any other area that you can kill the monsters with 1 or 2 hits. At level 30, you may even want to PQ one last level. If you happen to be at ossyria, you may try the jr. cellion, jr. lioner, or jr. grupin. You may even wish to level in the tower, also. Just look for monster that you can kill relatively fast and easily while gaining good experience. B2 is a solid spot from level 37ish to level 41ish.
  • From level 41 to 46: I would recommend Monkey Forest 1: Tree Dungeon. The Zombie Lupins will be hard at first, but you will notice a lot less “MISS” as you level up. If you feel like you are losing too much mesos from MP pots, or that the Zombie Lupins are still too hard – you may train at the areas recommended for level 30 to 40.
  • From level 47 to 53: I would recommend B3. Learn to jump B3, because you may be spending some time here. This place is excellent for meso-making. If you find that you cannot jump B3, or always find it to be occupied, or just love those zombie lupins – you may train at the Monkey Forest: Tree Dungeon.
  • From level 54 to 70: I would recommend Monkey Forest 1: Tree Dungeon, again. Why? At this point, you will have maxed teleport and you should be able to teleport up and down the tree easily. Make sure you learn the fastest path up and down the tree in order to maximize your experience gained. If you wish to make more money, and love B3 – stay at B3. You may also move on to zombies around level 60 and up.
  • From level 60 to 70: I would recommend Zombies in Ossyria. If you wish to stay at the tree or B3 – that is totally fine.

– Cleric Path #2 –

Level 70: Heal 30 / MP Eater 20 / Teleport 20 / Holy Arrow 30 / Invincible 20 / Bless 01 (MP Eater is Maxed)

*Explanation*

  • This build focuses on the ability to hunt other monsters. Magic Claw can still kill the same monsters, but Holy Arrow offers 150% more damage to dark monsters and the ability to knock-back non-dark monsters. Holy Arrow only enables you to kill the monster abit more easily. Malady, Balrog, Dark Yeti, etc. Remember, Magic Claw can kill these same monsters, too.
  • The 10 points into MP Eater early on is to help with your meso-fund. I recommend 10 points (more or less) because you will still be hunting Zombie Lupins early on. Maxing Holy Arrow right after maxing Heal will not help you alot, because the monsters you will want to hunt are still too strong for you. You will need about 3 to 4 more levels in order to start killing these monsters (dark stone golems). Therefore, stall 3 to 4 levels by putting your points into MP Eater. Then max Holy Arrow right away.
  • I recommend maxing Invincible first, Teleport after. You will be hunting monsters that do alot of phyical damage to you and Invincible would help alot here. I do recommend putting that 1 point into Teleport – it helps, then max Teleport after maxing Invincible.
  • Why 1 point into Bless, after 5 points into Invincible? If you like to party, and a Fighter activates “Rage”, you will be able to negate the negative weapon defense with that 1 point Bless. This is not needed. You can max out Invincible right away, and put the point into Bless later.
  • Why max MP Eater last? The 10 points put into MP Eater will help you save money early on. After that, you will probably be training at Dark Stone Golems or other monsters with Holy Arrow. Since Holy Arrow targets 1 monster at a time, you shouldn’t be losing too much MP compared to spamming Heal against Zombie Lupins, B3, etc.

– Cleric Path #3 –
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
*This path is for those who wish to not max MP Eater. Good build for those who like to party alot. This is one of the two path I recommend. This path is extremely expensive for a long time (due to the lack of MP Eater). Please note that this build is good for those who also like to use holy arrow (i, personally, do not recommend holy arrow, however.) The basic path is as follows: Max Heal, Max Teleport, Max Holy Arrow, Max Invincible, Max Bless.
Level 63: Heal 30 / 01 MP Eater / 20 Teleport / Holy Arrow 30 / Invincible 18 / Bless 01
Level 64: Heal 30 / 01 MP Eater / 20 Teleport / Holy Arrow 30 / Invincible 20 / Bless 02 (Invincible is Maxed)
Level 65: Heal 30 / 01 MP Eater / 20 Teleport / Holy Arrow 30 / Invincible 20 / Bless 05
Level 66: Heal 30 / 01 MP Eater / 20 Teleport / Holy Arrow 30 / Invincible 20 / Bless 08
Level 67: Heal 30 / 01 MP Eater / 20 Teleport / Holy Arrow 30 / Invincible 20 / Bless 11
Level 68: Heal 30 / 01 MP Eater / 20 Teleport / Holy Arrow 30 / Invincible 20 / Bless 14
Level 69: Heal 30 / 01 MP Eater / 20 Teleport / Holy Arrow 30 / Invincible 20 / Bless 17
Level 70: Heal 30 / 01 MP Eater / 20 Teleport / Holy Arrow 30 / Invincible 20 / Bless 20 (Bless is Maxed)
*Explanation*
  • This build focuses on hunting at various places without sacrificing our party skill ability (Bless). This build is the most costly out of the 3 in terms of meso – due to the lack of MP Eater. However, with this build, you are depending on drops, looting, Holy Arrow to prevent fast MP loss (resulting in more MP pot useage – meso loss).
  • Why 1 point into Bless, after 5 points into Invincible? If you like to party, and a Fighter activates “Rage”, you will be able to negate the negative weapon defense with that 1 point Bless. This is not needed. You can max out Invincible right away, and put the point into Bless later.
  • Why Invincible first, and not Bless? I only maxed Invincible first in this guide, HOWEVER you can max Bless first and Invincible Later. Just remember that you do need at least 5 points into Invincible before being able to put a point into Bless. Again, I repeat. If you love to party, and want to max Bless first, before maxing Invincible – Go For It!
  • Maxing Teleport first is very useful for a couple of reasons: 1) only 13 MP is drained per teleport (when maxed) and 2) You can move up and down the Monkey Forest 1: Tree Dungeon alot faster.
  • MP Eater at level 1 is important to have early on. It is alot better then MP Eater at level 0.
  • This build is excellent to go partying around with. Why? With MP Eater at maxed or not, you do not gain MP by healing your party members. So having MP eater at level 20 or at level 1 does not matter. To make this build even better for partying, you may want to max Bless as soon as possible. How? After Maxing teleport, put in the next 5 points into Invincible. After that you should be starting to max Bless at level 49. Once you have maxed Bless, you may either max Invincible or Holy Arrow – your choice.
[o] Unwritten Laws for the Clerics (B3 Courtesy Rule)
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
There is an un-written law for B3, called the B3 Courtesy Rule. This is to prevent fustration and KSing. I wrote this so that any clerics who read this have a common ground and understanding. This was made to prevent any problems of “ksing” at B3 and to avoid such problems.
  • If the subway depot for B3 is clear, the first person to reach that area gets to train. Anyone who arrives after should either: 1) leave 2) ask for the time. If you asked for the time and you found the time to be worth waiting for, then do so. Wait at the top area where the Treasure Chest is. If the time is too long: get your ores, then change channels and test your luck again… or go train at the Monkey Forest 1: Tree Dungeon.
  • It is not worth sharing the train with another person. The spawn rate is very slow at B3. If you came for the vibe medicine, it is better to go onto the top platform and then ask for some. If that person says “no” just kindly say “bye” and try a different channel.
  • If there is a level 40 cleric training at B3, and you happen to be a level 70 cleric (who arrived after). Do not jump into the train and start killing the Wraith. Either wait, or leave. Just because you are a higher level does not allow you to kick someone out.
  • If someone is training at your favorite channel (for example channel 17). Do not KS that person, or ask that person to leave if that person was there first. If they were there first – let them finish training. No one owns a channel. You can change channels (it won’t kill you) or wait. Do not expect people to know your “training schedule” either.
  • This is not a “Cleric only” map, either. If another class is there training or hunting, same rules apply. They have every right to be there as you do.
  • WOW! Never thought I had to post this. A DEAD CHARACTER CANNOT SAVE A SPOT IN A B3. If YOU go in and there’s a dead character – you have ALL rights to claim it as yours. A friend of that DEAD CHARACTER cannot come in AFTER you and claim the train. A dead character cannot “defend” a map. If you go into a channel and a dead character tells you to leave, then you may discuss it. but if you decide not to and start training – you are ksing no one. that person lost his map through death. If a friend comes in, tough luck. That friend has to wait, change channels or start some pointless ks battle.
  • No one technically owns a map. We play this game and treat others with respect. You cannot “save” a map for someone – whether dead or alive. If you are waiting for a friend to come in and train after you leave, then your friend must be the next immediate person to train. If someone else beats your friend – that person has the rights to the train after you leave. Your friend can wait, change channels, or ks (and start a problem).
[x] Looting at Zombie Lupins
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
Here is a tip that applies to clerics only. If you enter a tree with Zombie Lupins and the people there are not picking up the dolls and meso. You may want to loot to make money. Here are a few tips:
  • Ask: some people loot on the way back, in which case they will not want you to loot. It won’t hurt to ask (unless if they’re rude).
  • When looting, Unequip your weapon. Why? If you unequip your weapon, you will still be able to heal yourself and you’re party members. You will not, however, attack the Zombie Lupins. By not attacking the Zombie Lupins, you won’t have bananas thrown at you, forcing you to kill the batch of Zombie Lupins around you. This will please the hard-core clerics who are training there. By not attacking – you won’t “steal” experience from those who are training in the tree. So please unequip your weapons.
  • Do not pick up equipments. If you see an equipment drop and the person who killed it doesn’t pick it up – let that person know. If (s)he doesn’t want it – then ask if you can have it.
  • Less talk, more looting. Please do not bother those in training. They are there to train, not talk.
  • When done looting, say “thank you”. If you want, you may offer some dolls or mesos.
  • Do not stalk the same person by whispering “can i come loot?” every 5 minutes. If you want to loot that same person, just track him / her and go to the tree if they happen to be there.
Hopefully this guide will help all Clerics or soon-to-be Clerics. Remember, keep the game clean: no hacking, no botting, no scamming, no Auto-Clicking, no KSing~ ^^ Remember to have fun~
Feel free to leave comments (hopefully positive comments). If you see any mistakes, please let me know.
Remember: this is a guide. Not a law. You may build your cleric the way you like it. And these are my opinions. We may share different opinions – do not bashe me if we do. Thanks to those who have helped me make this a better guide~
I ask nothing in return. I do not play as “YuhwoO” anymore, so do not whisper “YuhwoO” in game. See you all around~
