Brave Frontier Trial 1X Guide

Brave Frontier Trial 1X Guide by Zugon

This is a guide for the Global exclusive Trial, known as 1X. There kind of… isn’t much that happens here, but this’ll help you understand what you need to expect in there.

This will only lightly touch on squad construction, so if that’s what you need the most, then this probably won’t help you much.

Preparation

  • Lilly Matah (or similar) is highly recommended here. Enemies here have a tendency to spam multi-target attacks many times.
  • First and second phases frequently use attacks based of HP percentage, as such, outright damage reduction is going to be better than HP boosting for them.
  • You’ll need status immunity, and some form of status cleansing as well, if you’re not getting it through leader skills/spheres. Consumable items aren’t going to cut it.

Cursed Estia

Skills

  • Has inherent chances of inflicting ailments including Curse, exact rates are unknown, but expect more ailments than the rates below would suggest.
  • Brutal Assault – Multi-Target attack. 55% BB damage, 5% Paralysis and 25% Weakness. Frequently used.
  • Cursed Vengence[sic] – Multi-Target attack. 25-35% HP damage. Frequently used.
  • Plagued Blood – Multi-Target attack. 10% BB damage, clears buffs & drains BB gauges by 50%. Quite rare.
  • Brutal Rampage – Multi-target attack used below ~60% HP. 80% BB damage, 5% Paralysis and 25% Weakness.

Details

  • Attacks 4-5 times each turn.
  • Can kill you in a single turn without mitigation/guarding.
  • Cursed Vengeance is the most common attack, followed by Brutal Assault, Brutal Rampage(after threshold), Normal Attacks, then Plagued Blood.
  • No discernible attack pattern.

Strategy

Just mitigate each turn and heal when needed and you’ll be fine.

Princess Estia

Skills

  • Star Seal – Single-Target attack. 110% BB damage & drains BB gauges by 100%.
  • Grand Star Seal – Multi-Target attack. 15%-30% HP damage, 100% Curse and 35% Sickness.
  • Golden Starlight – Multi-Target attack. 115% BB damage & heals self by 20,000-25,000 HP.
  • Royal Starstrike – Multi-Target attack. 65% BB damage.
  • Banishing Starfall – Multi-Target attack. 20% BB damage, clears buffs, 25% Injury, Sickness and Weakness.

Details

  • Attacks 5 times each turn.
  • Does not deal a lot of damage, but wittles you down by draining gauges and halting your ability to heal.
  • Star Seal and Grand Star Seal are the most common attacks, the others are used fairly infrequently.
  • Likewise, no discernible attack pattern.

Strategy

BB Manipulators (such as Zelnite) and HP Regen/HC buffers will severely help counteract her BB draining. She doesn’t hit too hard, so if you’ve packed a good defensive leader you don’t need to mitigate every turn.

Just focus on keeping your party healthy and slowly work her down.

Xenon & Estia

Skills

  • Seems to have inherent Curse rates.
  • Tag Deception – Single-Target attack. 135% BB damage, 50% BB drain & 100% Paralysis.
  • Tag Assault – Multi-Target attack. 25% BB damage & 15% Weakness.
  • Royal Radiance – Multi-Target attack. 25% BB damage & 5,000-10,000 HP Regen buff to self for 3 turns.
  • Elysian Grandeur – Multi-Target attack. 600% BB damage & 100% Poison. Used at the start of several turns at around ~40% HP.

Details

  • Attacks 5 times each turn.
  • Has a set attack pattern. Goes like:
TurnAttack 1Attack 2Attack 3Attack 4Attack 5
1TDTDTDTDTD
2TANANANATA or NA
3TANANANATA or NA
4TDTDTDTDTD
5TANANANATA or NA
6TANANANATA or NA

Which repeats.

TD = Tag Deception
TA = Tag Assault
NA = Normal Attack

  • Uses Elysion Grandeur at ~40% HP, and adopts the following attack pattern:
TurnAttack 1Attack 2Attack 3Attack 4Attack 5
1EGNANANATA or NA
2EGTDTDTDTD
3EGNANANATA or NA
4EGRRRRRRRR

EG = Elysian Grandeur
RR = Royal Radiance
TD = Tag Deception
TA = Tag Assault
NA = Normal Attack

  • After ~10% HP, Elysian Grandeur stops and is replaced like so:
TurnAttack 1Attack 2Attack 3Attack 4Attack 5
1TANANANATA or NA
2TDTDTDTDTD
3TANANANATA or NA
4RRRRRRRRRR

Strategy

The fight is fairly chill until Elysian Grandeur happens. Once it’s going, make sure you have mitigation and healing every turn. Make sure you guard fragile units (such as low-health or dark) while it’s going, and try to burst him down as quickly as possible. Don’t be afraid to burst through your consumables during that time, since once it’s over, the fight returns to the calm nature it was before.

Summary (aka TLDR)

Squad

  • Use people who regenerate BB gauge when being attacked.
  • You need status immunity. You’ll also need status clearing if you’re using it through a buffer.
  • Phase 1 & 2 are best done with a damage reduction leader compared to a HP boosting leader.
  • Phase 2 is best done with HP regen/HC buffing and instant-BB gauge filling.
  • Phase 3 Packing extra damage for Phase 3 is a good idea.

Phase 1 (Cursed Estia)

  • Mitigate every turn and just kill her.

Phase 2 (Princess Estia)

  • Keep your party healthy through whatever means necessary and just kill her.

Phase 3 (Xenon & Estia)

  • Fairly easy until Elysian Grandeur, which is about 40% HP.
  • Once that happens, mitigate and heal every turn and kill them quickly. Throw in all your items if you need to.
