World of Warcraft Legendary Cloak Fastest Way Guide

World of Warcraft Legendary Cloak Fastest Way Guide by Bzkay

Hey guys,

I noticed the new buff “The Gaze of the Black Prince” that will last just about two weeks. While reading the forum about it, there is a lot of complaints that it isn’t worthwhile because people are still stuck on the valor portion. The legendary quest is a pain in the butt, but I think many players approach it in a very inefficient way. I am now finishing up my 7th cloak, so let me give you my exact strategy.

  1. Pick up the legendary quest from Wrathion. First, there are two requirements. Pick up all 20 sigils (10 wisdom, 10 power) and reach honored with The Black Prince reputation. These Sigils drop from the following raid wings:
  • Guardians of Mogu’shan
  • The Vault of Mysteries
  • The Dread Approach
  • Nightmare of Shek’zee
  • Terrace of Endless Springs
  • Last Stand of the Zandalari
  • Forgotten Depths
  • Halls of Flesh-Shaping
  • Pinnacle of Storms
  • Vale of Eternal Sorrows
  • Gates of Retribution

I highly recommend starting with SoO wing 1 and 2, then going through all 4 ToT wings. Wait to go to Terrace of Endless Storms and complete MSV and HoF until you have all 20 sigils. You will want to do this the first week you hit 90 (before Tuesday!). This takes a lot of time, but I have never had a character unable to finish all 20 sigils if I completed all of the LFR within 1 week. You will also want to get honored with the Black Prince while waiting for rep. I suggest killing the Mogu at Isle of Thunder. You can also begin doing to Isle of Thunder’s solo scenarios – you will need to complete them later anyways.

Turn in both of those quests.

  1. Next, you will have to get a 100% drop chance item from the last boss of Terrace of Endless Springs (ToES). Simply queue for this LFR and complete it, making sure to loot the boss at the end. Return to Wrathion.
  2. The next two quests are to reach Revered with The Black Prince reputation and to complete the Test of Valor achievement. The ToV achievement requires you to gain 3000 valor. Remember, your value is capped at 1000 per week, and saved valor does not count towards the 3000 sum (you will always start at 0/3000). You can check your progression in the achievements tab under Quests > Pandaria. Since you have three weeks, just head to the Isle of Thunder and get rep whenever you have the chance. This step is where people mess up most often. You need to make sure that you cap valor (1000/1000) every week for the next three weeks. Since you finished sigils in the previous week, you should be starting this quest with 0/3000 valor earned towards the achievement. Simply cap valor by doing heroic scenarios or raids. Just make sure you cap every week for two weeks. On the third week, you cannot, absolutely cannot, step into a ToT or SoO raid. I suggest starting the third week on a Tuesday and doing 10 heroic scenarios to cap quickly, giving you the quest completion. Turn in both of these quests.
  3. Next, you will have to complete two PvP battlegrounds and kill a mini-boss. PvP, unfortunately, can take a long time. Make sure you don’t raid until you finish both of these quests. The mini-boss is soloable by most classes, but I did have trouble doing it on my mage and had to find someone to help.
  4. Turn in both quests and you will need to get 20 Secrets of the Empire and reach Exalted with The Black Prince Reputation. Reach Exalted the same way as with previous instances of the rep gain, but make sure to complete all of the possible Isle of Thunder solo scenarios – this is required for the next step. Secrets of the Empire can drop from bosses from the following raid wings:
  • Last Stand of the Zandalari
  • Forgotten Depths
  • Halls of Flesh-Shaping
  • Pinnacle of Storms (100% drop chance from Lei Shen)
  • Vale of Eternal Sorrows (100% drop chance from Sha of Pride)
  • Gates of Retribution

Since you completed valor in this third week without any raids being done, you are able to do all 6 raid instances for Secrets. Complete these all each week until reaching 20! This part may take 2-3 weeks or longer, but I have not personally experienced it taking more than 3 weeks. Turn in both quests.

  1. You will now have to follow Wrathion back to Isle of Thunder to complete two more scenarios before starting the final leg of the legendary quest.
  2. Pick up the next quest from Wrathion, which requires you to get 12 Runestones. These drop from the following raid wings:
  • Halls of Flesh-Shaping
  • Pinnacle of Storms (100% drop chance from Lei Shen)
  • Vale of Eternal Sorrows (100% drop chance from Sha of Pride)
  • Gates of Retribution

Make sure to complete these 4 wings weekly until you get all 12 runestones – this can take 2-3 weeks or more. I have taken at most 4 weeks for this quest.

  1. Upon completion of the Runestone quest, you will be asked to visit all 4 celestial areas, which are spread around Pandaria. I usually visit the Ox and Tiger first, then hearthstone to Shrine and visit Chi-ji and Yu’lon before flying back to Wrathion. You will have to complete one of their tasks depending on your specialization. I highly recommend completing one of the dps tasks (Yu’lon for casters or Xuen for Melee). I did the healing one on my druid and it took significantly longer than the easy caster one, which I could have done as moonkin in my healing gear! These are very easy, regardless.
  2. Wrathion will now ask you to meet him at the timeless isles to kill all 4 celestials. I usually just use the raid finder function “Other Raids” found in the raid menu and join groups until I get all 4. This is annoying, but really not hard.
  3. Turn this in, get your cloak! You now just have to talk to Wrathion right above SoO to complete your legendary quest.

Congratulations, you can now do Ordos and are on your way to real raiding!

Hope this helped!
