SingNet Broadband Settings
SingNet Broadband Settings by MrJacky
I have managed to set up the Linksys WAG160N to work with my SingNet broadband connection and I thought it would be helpful to those who don’t know the multiple settings required.
I switched from the 2WIRE 2701HGV-E gateway (SingTel mio Box) to the Linksys WAG160N gateway and I set up the WAG160N with values mostly from the 2701HGV-E.
Encapsulation: RFC 2516 PPPoE
Multiplexing: LLC (VC may also work according to some users)
QoS Type: UBR (leave this as it is until you use QoS)
PCR: Blank (you won’t need to configure this if you leave QoS Type as UBR)
SCR: Blank (you won’t need to configure this if you leave QoS Type as UBR)
Autodetect: Enable
If Enable makes your connection unstable, use the following.
Autodetect: Disable
Virtual Circuit: 0 VPI
100 VCI
DSL Modulation: G.dmt (as according to 2WIRE’s setting, although some users use ADSL2+)
User Name: Your ADSL username (append @singnet if you can’t connect, for example, if your username is sing use sing@singnet)
Password: Your ADSL password
Keep Alive – 30 seconds
MTU: Auto
If Auto makes your connection unstable, use the following.
MTU: Manual
Size: 1492 (as according to 2WIRE’s setting)
The above settings should enable you to connect to SingNet’s ADSL2+ broadband service.
