First Time Sect Patrol
There is attack and defence: although the objective of sect spying is to steal intelligence from the target sect, the target sect will naturally do its upmost to guard its own intelligence. So how do sects prevent their intelligence from being stolen and capture enemy spies? The answer lies in the use of sect patrols.
How do we participate in sect patrols to guard our sect’s intelligence?
Firstly, open the interface of a sect of your choosing and on the left side select “Sect Patrols”
Secondly, in the pop-up “Jianghu Wars” page, select your sect and click the “Participate” button.
Please note: You must return to the map scene of this sect to be able to successfully participate.
Once you have been successful in participating in the sect patrol, you will receive a patrol token from that sect. As well as enjoying an additional 10% experience transformation speed, techniques will be available to you, including the sect patrol ability “Evil Detecting Skill”.
So what do you need to pay attention to when participating in sect patrols?
Players whose strength is that of a “Beginner” can receive missions from the person responsible for sect intelligence.
Sect missions can be participated in and completed at any time within 24 hours, up to a total of 20 times per day.
If you see anyone suspicious within the sect you can utilise the sect technique, “Evil Detecting Skill”. If you can expose a spy from another sect, you can give him a thrashing and seize back the intelligence he has stolen.
Sect Seizing/Guarding Books
“Sect Seizing/Guarding Books” is a game that requires both intelligence and skill; it is a competition between attack and defence. Today, many martial arts secret manuals are re-appearing in the Jiianghu and a reign of terror is fast approaching. Are you prepared?
Introduction to Sect Seizing/Guarding of Books
The basic procedure for participating in this is the same as for other sect game-plays: after opening the “Jianghu Sect” interface, click to enter your chosen sect page, you will find the “Seizing Sect Books/Guarding Sect Books” tab on the left side of the interface. After clicking on this tab, the “Jianghu Wars” box will pop-up, after entering the sect you wish to seize books for, click “Participate” to be able to take part.
Points to Remember:
Daily, a batch of secret martial arts manuals will reappear in the Jianghu and be randomly distributed among two sects. Should these manuals happen to be allocated to your sect, then on that day you cannot join “Sect Book Seizing”, but can participate in “Sect Book Guarding”.
In addition, on successfully completing the “Sect Seizing/Guarding Books” quest, not only will you receive a great deal of experience, you will obtain a reward of a random martial arts manual.
In contrast to other sect game-plays, so long as you fulfil the requirements, you may choose the area in which you wish to participate.
Sect Spying
In the world of Age of Wulin, “Sect Spying” is relatively simple to play but offers rich rewards. It involves players entering the maps of rival sects, to seek out intelligence disciples and moles within that sect, and using dialogue and spying techniques to obtain the information they are holding. Once obtained the information is handed over to the sect spying NPC in exchange for rewards. Whilst in the act of spying, players will encounter and fight with enemy sect patrols.
Players can choose to conduct sect vs. sect spying missions or they can spy for the Imperial Palace.
So how do you conduct sect spying?
Firstly, click on “My Jianghu” or hit the ‘G’ key to enter the Jianghu interface.
Secondly, select “Sect” and click on the sect figure to enter the sect interface.
Next, on the sect interface, choose a sect by clicking on the sect image.
Then, on the right of the interface of your chosen sect, select “Sect Spying”
Finally, in the pop-up “Jianghu Wars” box, after selecting the sect you wish to spy on, the bottom of the box will display an NPC name; click on the “Participate” button.
You should first of all head for the map of the target sect you wish to spy on, and then participate in sect spying as outlined above.
After joining sect spying, you will be teleported to the sect spying map.
You will discover many small boxes on the game interface, divided into three sect spying techniques. There are three different sect spying techniques:
Pickpocketing: can be used on intelligence disciples during spying activity to steal a piece of intelligence he is carrying. There is a fixed loss of use rate, after which your weak-point value increases to 20.
Attack from Behind: although there is no honour in launching a surprise attack from behind, it is very practical. Three pieces of intelligence can be stolen from sect intelligence disciples, and a sect token can be stolen from escort disciples. The loss of use rate is relatively high, once use is lost; the weak-point value goes up to 100.
Flying Locust Asks the Way: The secret agent’s most often deployed trick – throwing a flying locust stone to draw the attention of the target. When used on an escort disciple during spying activity it can cause a temporary loss in his ability to keep guard.
You will need to find 10 pieces of intelligence, if you are unable to find a piece of intelligence, you may still return to deliver your mission results. However, the reward you receive will be less.
In addition to using spying techniques to steal information, you can obtain information from talking with planted agents.
Friendly Reminder: These two ways of stealing information can only be used against off-line sect-intelligence disciples, and have a fixed loss of use rate. Once discovered by sect escorts, your weak-point value will increase and on reaching 100 you will display a spy label.
On collecting 10 pieces of intelligence you can report back and deliver your mission. You can use the “Jianghu Wars” box to locate the position of the mission NPC for your sect.
