Clash Royale Card Tier List
Clash Royale Card Tier List by Firestar493
Most people would agree that in a game with a large variety of units to potentially choose from, it is impossible to keep balance and some cards are bound to be better than others. Clash Royale is no exception. This tier list can be used as a general way of ranking the viability of certain cards in the current high-ranking metagame (Arena 7+). As of now, I am assuming complete choice of cards, but I may mention how the F2P aspect of the game affects certain viability/usage.
TIERS
S: This card dominates the metagame. This card is low risk and high reward, and it is generally worth its cost. This card often makes the backbone of winning decks or supports decks very well, with benefits far outweighing drawbacks. It does its job superbly and constantly threatens the opponent.
A: This card is very effective in the metagame. This card may have some flaws, but the benefits outweigh them. It can easily support decks or provide winning plans for the user. It does its job effectively.
B: This card has potential to be effective in the metagame. This card has notable flaws that may affect its functionality, but its benefits generally make up for them. While it may need substantial support, it can do its job rather well if used correctly.
C: This card is generally mediocre in the metagame. While this card has a notable niche, it also has serious flaws that prevent it from being dominant. Their cost may not always be worth it, and they may often require extensive support. However, they can still perform their jobs decently if used correctly.
D: This card is generally a poor choice in the metagame. While this card may have select niches that justify their usage in certain decks, their flaws prevent them from having widespread usage. They tend to be outclassed by another card that performs their job better and may struggle to stand out.
Note: This tier list is not concrete in any form. Certain matchups with lower tier cards can still be favorable against other higher tier cards. These tiers may also exaggerate the reality, as I believe the game is actually one of relative balance (for the most part). Tier rankings can change when the metagame changes, such as when new strategy is developed, goes out of fashion, or is buffed/nerfed. Also, at the time of this initial post, I am basing this off of my own judgment. However, I do promote discussion in the comments for suggestions of change in the list!
