Top 7 Brunch Places in Seoul? Oui!
Do you know that Seoul is good for brunch? :D Other than its local food, Seoul offers a wide variety of international cuisine. Itaewon is considered one of Seoul’s most diverse place where you can satisfy your multicultural palate. It serves up mexican food, indian food, etc. This is where many of the tourists gather and you should definitely visit this place. But other than Itaewon, let’s check out the top 5 best places that serves up pancakes and all the delectable brunch treats.
1. Pancakes Original Story
This place is definitely one of the most difficult places to find because of its hole-in-the-wall location. But when you eventually locate it, it’s so darn worth it.
When you’re in Pancakes Original Story, you definitely need to try the pancakes obviously! This Pancakes breakfast set will definitely satisfy one hungry man or two relatively hungry girls.
If you prefer a healthier alternative, go for Puffy Mozarella Omelette. The portion looks as though its definitely not for the faint hearted but it wasn’t heavy because it was more like a souffle omelette.
2. The Original Pancake House
Don’t be confused with the first shop above. This place has creative concepts of serving its pancakes,
Apple pie pancake is first cooked in a frying pan before being baked with caramelized apples. This definitely tasted better than your usual apple pie.
The other famous dish of pancakes is the Famous Dutch Baby. The pancake is baked with cream and cheese. You’re able to enjoy the crispiness on the top of the pancakes and yet the bottom of the pancakes remained moist and creamy.
3. The Flying Pan
Don’t be confused if you see The Flying Pan Blue, The Flying Pan Red and The Flying Pan White. They’re all owned by the same brand, The Flying Pan but they specialize in different items. They aare all located in different places such as Itaewon and Sinsa, and feature different menus.
My friends indulged in the Flying pan breakfast, eggs Benedict with smoked salmon. While I had the fig tree pancake. I never had pancakes with caramlized figs before. I really enjoyed the combination of crunchy figs with maple syrup and pancakes.
5. Butterfingers Pancakes
“When you’re in Korea, you definitely NEED TO try ButterFingers.” That’s what my Korean friend said. I tried and it was definitely true. ButterFingers served the true blue American breakfast. I ordered the Waffle Cheese Steak. The portion was huge and the flavours hit my tastebud with cheesy goodness. You know the feeling when you pull your pizza and the cheese melts and oozes out? That’s the same feeling you’ll get with this waffle cheese steak.
6. 수지스 (SUJI’S)
Suji’s is conveniently located at Itaewon. One of the best and easiest brunch finds.
I ordered the Jack and Jill, which consists of French toast with blueberry compote, homemade sausage, scrambled eggs and home fries. Every single item that was delivered on customers’ tables were oh so picture perfect. Definitely a must go!
7. Wood And Brick
I’m crazy in love with croque madame.
I was so elated when I saw that Wood And Brick offered my favourite ham and cheese sandwich topped with egg. Yummers! While you’re here, the cafe also sells desserts and breads for you to take home.
Brunch in Seoul is definitely very different from the local food served. I think Korea is trying to internationalize their tastebuds and they’re definitely doing a good job! Thumbs up!
