ArcheAge Beginner’s Gilda Star Farming Guide

ArcheAge Beginner’s Gilda Star Farming Guide by DaBigCheez

This is intended to help people – especially new 50s and newbros – know about the sources of gilda stars available to them.

A preface, though it’s not immediately relevant to the point of the guide:

Do NOT use gilda stars on your main to buy any design that costs 50 gilda or less!

The reason for this is that these can easily be farmed by a fresh alt by blitzing the storyline quests – a Daggerspell can, in less than two hours, get 59 gilda stars with starter gear only. Since these storyline quests can only be done once per character, these “easy” gilda shouldn’t be wasted on your main – save them to save up for something more spendy! Additionally, <50-gilda designs are quite cheap on the AH, less than 1 gold per gilda.

With that, here’s the daily quests available for Gilda Stars. Note that ALL dailies reset at 5pm Pacific every day.

PRE-30: NUI DAILIES

The Priestess of Nui will offer characters between levels 10 and 30 a daily quest that grants a Gilda Star. These are all quite easy. Any given quest can only be done once per day, but if you level over a boundary, it’s on a separate CD (e.g. you can do the level 10-15 quest at 4pm, ding 16, do the 16-20 quest immediately, then do the 16-20 quest again at 5pm).

Level 10-15: Talk to Priestess. Talk to priestess again. Get 50s and a gilda star. Done.

Level 16-20: Bring Priestess Memory Ink (10s from General Merchants). Collect 70s and a gilda star for great charity.

Level 21-25: Talk to Priestess. Type /flowers in chat with her targeted. Congratulations, you just got 1g and a gilda star.

Level 26-30: Talk to Priestess. Bring her a Lily (AH or just growing on the ground, esp. in Villanelle). Enjoy your 1g50s and gilda star.

POST-30: BLUE SALT DAILIES

These can be acquired in Austera, Ynystere, and possibly Lutesong Harbor (I haven’t checked). All can be done once per day. They replace the Nui dailies. They can be turned in at any location where the NPCs are – it doesn’t have to be the same one you picked it up at.

Some Perfume-Named Quest, I Forget The Name: Talk to the Blue Salt Wanderer. She has little grinders next to her. Grind up 30 of any of the mass-produced farming items – Chopped Produce, Ground Spices, Medicinal Powder, etc. – with about 30 labor, and turn it in for a gilda star.

Guerilla Marketing: Unlocked for the day after you do the prior perfume quest. Run around in Tigerspine Mountains and place down vases at each of the map locations. You can sniff them for a 45m buff as well, nothing too fancy.

Raising a Wild Snowlion/Raising a Malfunctioning Leomorph: Go to the Falcorth Plains/Arcum Iris stables, respectively, and raise another mount, using Vita Roots, water, and some time. There’s some RNG to this, unlike regular mount raising – sometimes a vita root won’t cause them to mature. Raise them up and put them in your bag. Each gives a Gilda Star.

Signs of the Salphira Cult: This sounds like it might require going into the Palace Cellar dungeon. It doesn’t. Just port to city of towers, go down into that underground passage, and pick up some leashes spawning on the ground. Easy-peasy.

MISC/50+ DAILIES:

Blood, Sweat, and Training: Get 3 kills in the 1v1 Arena. This will take a minimum of two matches.

Mentee/Mentor Quests: Each leveling dungeon (Palace Cellars, Hadir Farm, and two others – Kroloal Crater, Howling Abyss maybe?) has a “mentor/mentee” quest, where high-level adventurers team up with lowbies. Mentors get 3 gilda, mentees get 1. Note: the Palace Cellars quest seems to have unfortunate level ranges; 50s can get the quest, but are too high-level to complete it. Trino pls.

TIME-DEPENDENT DAILIES:

These are the kinda tricky ones. They’re only available at certain hours of the in-game day, but share all the other restrictions of a normal daily quest. There may be more than these that I’m not aware of.

Ynystere – Materials for War Preparation: Check the Blue Salt Bulletin Board at the front gates of Caernord between 2000 and ~2300. It’ll give you a quest to take 5 processed materials – Lumber, Stone Brick, Fabric, or Iron Ingots – to the Ynystere Fortress for 1 gilda.

Ynystere – Grimghast Rift – To the arena! (trebuchet building) – At the Ynystere Fortress, while the Grimghast Rift is active (appx. 0000-0400), there’ll be a quest to take Condensed Archeum Packs that spawn in front of the questgiver across the zone. These count as tradepacks, so use your donkeys. The packs stop spawning when the rift despawns, so if you don’t act fast enough you’ll have to come back next gameday. Gives 1 gilda. The followup can be abandoned. The item it gives you doesn’t seem important.

DELICIOUS FOOD DAILIES:

Using special meats that only drop from animal pens (requiring high Husbandry and a Farmer’s Workstation to create – note that a Farmer’s Workstation requires sacrificing your small scarecrow garden as part of the recipe), people with leveled Cooking can create fantabulous meals, which give dailies to turn them in on Mirage Isle for a Gilda star apiece. There’s three variants, requiring 10k/20k/30k Cooking and using the pens that require 10k/20k/30k Husbandry (chicken/duck/goose). They are identical other than that – each just gives a Gilda Star.

OTHER SOURCES:

Trade Runs: The obvious one. A run to the western continent Gilda traders will get you 1 gilda. A run to Freedich will get you 4 gilda. If the one turning in isn’t the pack crafter, then on the western continent, the one turning in gets the gilda, the crafter gets nothing; on freedich, the crafter gets 1 gilda, the one turning in gets 3 gilda.

Non-Repeatable Quests: Your storyline gets you 57, all told, at least if Firran. (Note that it drops for a while in Villanelle, but there’s a few more in Silent Forest.) Additionally, the quest in Anvilton (Tigerspine Mountains) introducing you to the basics of farming grants 1 gilda, and I believe there’s more but I don’t remember what or where they are – if anyone does, the info would be appreciated!

And that’s your gilda sources! So, in total, you can get:

  • 5 gilda stars/day from easy Blue Salt dailies
  • 2 gilda stars/day from Ynystere dailies
  • 1 gilda star/day from arena
  • 3 gilda stars/day from hearty meals
  • 9/12? gilda stars/day from mentoring
  • Any extra via trade packs

for a total of 8/day easily, or 17/20?/day with a bit more effort/cost, and any extra throughput from packs.

Please feel free to leave comments if I’ve missed something or am mistaken on something :)

Thanks dude, this REALLY helps! The only omission is for new players who want to do trade runs: Make and alt account on the same server, Go elves and rush only story quests until you have 50 gildas (can take 1.5 hours up). When you have 50 go and buy a clipper blueprint from mirage isle, and either trade it to your main straight off, or make the boat and THEN trade it. Now you have a main character with a boat, and all it’s gilda stars intact to save for a Galleon or Merchant ship!
