Defiance Nano Effects Quick Guide

Defiance Nano Effects Quick Guide by JxSiN

The damage numbers reflected are against normal, un-armored (dmg reducing) opponents, such as raiders. The only number I do not have concrete info on is the amount of health Syphon GIVES back to the user. Also, if anyone has concrete info on the duration of these effects in PVE, let me know. I can guestimate the seconds but would prefer actual numbers.

Note: All these Effects have to proc (Programed Random OCcurance), meaning there is a small chance for them to go off on a hit, but it is not guaranteed

Biological: Blue Bioharzard Icon.
PVE: Produces a slowing effect and target CAUSES half damage while slowed.
PVP: Same. Can be rolled off
Notes: AKA Poop shoes

Electrical: Light Blue Lightning Icon
PVE: Stuns target and does 7 dmg/tick
PVP: Disables HUD.
Note: Can be spread to nearby targets when Proc’d

Incendiary: Red Fire Icon
PVE: Ignites target causing 57 dmg/tick. Can cause the target to flee
PVP: Ignites target causing 57 dmg/tick. Can be rolled off
Note: Converters are found in game to make a weapon become Incendiary.
Note2: Can be spread to nearby targets when Proc’d

Radiation: Green Radiation Icon
PVE: Weakens target. Normal damage done against target is increased 25%.
PVP: Same
Note: Converters are found in game to make a weapon become Radiation

Syphon: Purple Swirl Icon
PVE: Does 450 damage against target and gives user a portion (unknown amount) of health/shield back
PVP: Same
Note: Can be spread to nearby targets in very close proximity when Proc’d

Toxic: Yellow/Green Splat Icon
PVE: Weakens target. Normal damage done against target is increased 20% (however, critical damage only seems to be increased 18%)
PVP: Same
Note: This nano is now very rare in the game after DLC1 patch. It used to be found on converters, but those have changed into Radiation. Now it can be only found on a very few faction specific weapons.

Certain weapons seem to have a tendency to Proc more than others, but it is not official if that is true or just chance.

WEAPON RARITY:
After extensive tests using a couple of weapons with the same nano in different rarities, I can honestly say that I firmly believe:

Weapon rarity affects Proc rate. The more rare the weapon, the more of a chance the weapon seems to proc.
**UNCONFIRMED** Just popular speculation
