The point of this guide is to analyze every single talent in Tyrael tree.

TL:DR Version

So lets start with Tier 1:

Tier 1:

  • Regeneration Master
    Gather 3 Regeneration Globes to permanently grant you +3 health per second. Stacks.

Not really necessary for Tyrael. He is fat enough as is.

  • Path of the Warrior
    Your Hero gains an extra 25 Health for every level gained.

Bonus is too low to be any useful.

  • Protection in Death (Trait)
    When Might of El’Druin explodes, Tyrael also grants nearby allies a shield that absorbs up to 50% of their max health in damage. This shield lasts for 5 seconds.

Great talent that scales incredibly well into the late game. Can turn the battle around.

  • Horadric Reforging (Q)
    Increases the damage dealt by Punishing Blade by 20%.

Punishing blade damage is really low, so 20% buff is unnoticable. Bad talent.

Conclusion for tier 1:
Protection in death is your best choice in this tier.

Tier 2:

  • Amplified Healing
    Increases healing taken and regeneration effects by 30%.

This talent can be useful if your team has healers like Uther or Malfurion. Otherwise useless.

  • Vampiric Assault
    Basic Attacks heal you for 15% of the damage done.

Your attacks barely do anything, not worth it.

  • Regeneration (W)
    Enemies that attack Tyrael while shielded grant him regeneration, gaining 30 health over 3 seconds.

Makes him more tanky, but your survival in battles is not a priority, so skip it.

  • Cleansing Sacrifice (E)
    Hand of Sacrifice now removes all stuns, roots, silences, and slows from the target.

Amazing talent, literally a life saver for your teammates. Helps them escape and survive. Amazing value.

Conclusion for tier 2:
Take Cleansing Sacrifice or Amplified Healing. Sacrifice is generally better, but it depends on team lineup.

Tier 3:

  • Battle Momentum
    Basic Attacks reduce your Ability cooldowns by 0.5 seconds

Pretty bad, your attack speed is low to utilize it.

  • Angel’s Grace (Q)
    After teleporting to his sword, Tyrael’s move speed is increased by 25% for 3 seconds.

You dont really need additional movespeed, you have no skills to make it useful.

  • Hand of Providence (E)
    Enemies in the beam take 20 damage every half second, deals double damage to minions.

This thing deals a lot of damage, great talent and helpful in pushes.

  • Searing Attacks
    Activate to increase Basic Attack damage by 50% for 5 seconds. Attacks cost 20 Mana per hit.

Useless for Tyrael, he isnt a DPS hero.

Conclusion for tier 3:
Hand of Providence (E) should be your choice. Gives you additional pushing tools while also increasing your presence in teamfights.

Ultimate abilities:

  • Judgment (R)
    Charges target, dealing 125 damage and stunning them for 2 seconds. While charging, nearby enemies are knocked back and take 50 damage.

Pretty bad, your arent Illidan, you arent supposed to charge targets. You’ll stun him, and then what? Your damage output is really low. Quite useless ultimate until they buff Tyrael damage capabilities.

  • Sanctification (R)
    While channeling, Tyrael makes all nearby allied Heroes invulnerable and unstoppable. Lasts 3 seconds.
    Does not affect Tyrael.

Amazing talent, literally makes your team unstoppable.

Conclusion for ultimate abilities:
Sanctification is the obvious choice here.

Tier 5:

  • Burning Rage
    Deals 10 damage per second to nearby enemies.

Useless talent, damage output is really low.

  • Zealotry (W)
    Increases duration by 100% and the explosion damage by 25%.

Explosion damage is pretty low so 25% buff is unnoticable, increased duration is nice but you dont really need it.

  • Imposing Will (W)
    Enemies that attack Tyrael while shielded have their Attack Speed slowed by 50% and Move Speed slowed by 50% for 2 seconds.

This is much more useful, makes you really hard to kill while you are shielded.

  • United Purpose (E)
    While linked, Tyrael and his target’s move speed is increased by 15%.

Really situational and i dont think its that useful. Not a bad option though.

Conclusion for tier 5:
Imposing Will is the preferred choice, however United Purpose isnt bad either.

Tier 6:

  • Holy Might (Q)
    Tyrael’s next 3 auto-attacks after teleporting to his sword deal 100% more damage.

Your damage is bad, so in reality 100% increase isnt that much. Under this buff you’ll just match with normal attacks of other DPS heroes like Zeratul. Skip it.

  • Angelic Barricade (Q)
    A 3 radius pathing blocker is created after Tyrael teleports to his blade.

Movement disruption is a king in this game, this talent has great value and its really useful in teamfights.

  • Atonement (Trait)
    On dying, move speed is increased by 50% and Tyrael resurrects 10 seconds faster for every Hero hit with Might of El’druin.

Bad talent, really situational and hardly worth it. Besides if you charge at enemies you cant give your allies shields from Tier 1 talent.

  • Blood for Blood
    Activate to steal 15% of target enemy’s max Health and slow its Movement Speed by 30% for 3 seconds.

Slow is always useful, but i think angelic barricade is a better choice. However its not a bad option to pick if your team lacks crowd control abilities.

Conclusion for tier 6:
Angelic Barricade and Blood for blood are good choices for you.

Tier 7:

  • Resurgence of the Storm
    Upon dying, revive back at your Altar after 5 seconds. This can occur once every 120 seconds.

Useful, but since you cant do much on your own without your teammates, its effect is diminished. I’d say other options are better.

  • Fury of the Storm
    Basic Attacks bounce twice to nearby enemies for 50% damage.

Your damage is terrible, so splash does almost nothing. Skip it.

  • Angel of Justice (R)
    Increases the cast range of Judgment by 50%, and reduces the cooldown by 30 seconds.

Again, its a bad ultimate for Tyrael, and upgrade doesnt make it more useful.

  • Holy Arena (R)
    Increases duration of Sanctification by 1 second, also increases attack and ability damage by protected allies by 25%.

25% damage increase for your allies is amazing, additional second is also useful. Great addition to your arsenal.

Conclusion for tier 7:
Holy Arena shall be your choice.
