Hearthstone Mage Legendary Rank Deck by Unicornpower

I recently achieved legendary rank and I want to post my main deck since I see almost no mages rank 5+. I played this deck all the way from rank 4 to legendary with a fairly strong winrate (I would estimate around 70-75%). In my opinion the deck is hugely favored against the popular hunter combo decks as well as any warlock deck. Manages to do around 50/50 against the rest of the meta (druid, warrior control, shaman, miracle rogue).

3 Arcane Intellect x2
3 Wolfrider x2
4 Fireball x2
4 Water Elemental x2
5 Azure Drake x2

The point of the deck is to kill the opponent around turn 6-8. Early on you spam cheap minions for hero damage then sustain with Azure Drake/Arcane Intellect and finish with spell damage. The only deck it plays a little different is against the zoo warlock deck because you really do need to gain board control over just prioritizing hero damage.

Best starting hand cards are definitely Arcane Intellect, Sorcerer’s Apprentice, Knife Juggler, Mana Wyrm, and Leper Gnome. Its decent to keep a fireball or frostbolt if you have adequate early creatures.

Cards I am somewhat on the fence about are the Argent Squire, Shattered Sun Cleric, and Arcane Missiles. I just feel there are no better options to fill their spots.
