MechQuest Zargon Guide

MechQuest Zargon Guide by Sir Gnome

I’ve seen many people with questions about the Zargon questline in general in MQQ&A recently, and so this is a step by step guide of the current Zargon Missions, from first arriving on the planet to piloting the Galactimecha in orbit!

You can start the Zargon missions from the minute you receive clearance to leave the planet. Simply go to the Map in Soluna, or your Starship, and set course for Zargon! You’ll find yourself in front of a tall building with a planet logo over the door. You might as well go in, as there’s nothing else you can do on the planet at this point.

This is the Daily Zargon, the centre for all your Zargon based quests. On the first menu, you’ll see an option for one of the game’s new (at time of writing) items: Mods! The first two shops are open when you arrive on Zargon, so I’d advise getting one of these straight away – Extra stat points never hurt!

Now, the missions. Big red button when talking to Selina, let’s get straight in!

The first part of this chain is the longest. You need to collect 20 individual Mecha Parts for Selina, by using the ‘Go Now!’ button in the mission list. You can track your progress under the ‘Mecha Parts’ button. For these quests, you fight just one enemy at a time, and if you win you Roll for finding a Mecha Part. You’ll be glad to know that while the first roll is a 50, the rolls don’t get harder as you go along, so its just as easy to find the first Part as the Last.

As you collect these Mecha Parts, its not all just plouging on with the quests – You unlock a few shops along the way too! After the first part, you can wander around the town, where you will see things which will unlock for you soon. Also, you can get into your Mecha (‘Travel’ button on toolbar), walk to the far right, and right a random supermecha.

At 5 parts, you unlock the incredibly stylish Supersuit. This means a couple of things; Firstly, you get +5 to each of your Zargon Rolls, meaning the quests become that little bit easier, but secondly, you gain the ability… to FLY! That means the two quests you may have seen if you were exploring the Town earlier are now unlocked! One starts one screen to the left of the Daily Zargon, just fly up to find the quest! You play through a minigame, then a fight on foot, for a normal gold/exp reward. For the other mission, just walk far to the left, until you get a popup about QuickFlash – Accept this, and you find yourself at a new screen for a minigame. You need to defeat the missiles by clicking on them, and then QuickFlash when he runs by, at each of the 6 locations. You then battle QuickFlash in the ‘Refinery’ setting – Watch out, as this is an ‘interactive environment’. Don’t be surprised if things explode and affect the battle! If successful, you see a small (but not essential) part of the storyline, and open up 2 Shops with Selina – Click ‘Mecha’, then ‘QuickFlash’.

At 10 parts, you unlock Selina’s weapons shop.

At 20 parts, you unlock a new quest – You need to battle through a Zargon full of weak drones, to the new prototype which Boltavolt stole from Selina . There’s a catch though – You constantly take damage from Earthquakes Boltavolt has caused. That means you need to be as quick as you can – The damage happens constantly, no matter whether you’re walking around, in battle, or on the rewards screen. After this mission, you can buy this new type of mecha from Selina – ‘Mecha’, then ‘Geekatron/Geekatron NG’.

Now you need to go out and rescue the superheroes. On these missions, you fight more drones on the way to a ‘Boss’ battle with a Superhero. You again take energy damage on the way there, but it only happens when you move, so there’s no big rush this time. Again, its a 50 Roll every time – This time however, along with the Supersuit for the +5 bonus, all SCs get another +5 naturally!

Once you’ve rescued 10 Superheroes, the final being Dr Bryce, you move onto the longer missions for the more Special Superheroes. The first is the Spider Base, where Arachnid lurks – You need to find TWO levers, which unlocks a large door to the Boss. Make good use of the Heal Pads, and you’ll be fine. After defeating Arachnid, you see some storyline, and have a 100 roll for special items – Its important to stress this is NOT needed for the questline. Its a bonus only.

Next is Mecha Bat’s cave – Here, there are another TWO levers you need to find before fighting the boss. Again, after winning, another 100 roll for a special item (again not needed!), and more Storyline.

Thunderhammer next, and this time you fight in the city again. You fight him four times, each more powerful than before, and each time followed by a flashback.

After that, its the big one. The one we’ve all been waiting for. Its… Universo! This can be tough, a chain of 8 battles back to back, each with slightly different enemy attacks. Don’t worry though, you heal between each one!

After this, SCs unlock the Galactic Battle, which is a chain of 3 minigames. Remember to dodge, and shoot everything that moves – Get past this, and unlock the Galactic Mods!
