Dragon’s Prophet Sorcerer Guide

Dragon’s Prophet Sorcerer Guide by xMuramasa

So! Hi!

My name is Ryuzetsu.

I started playing the founders OBT and began playing the Sorcerer, i love this class and havent looked back and would like to share my experience! This is my first guide that i have ever made, EVER! so please be gentle! :3

BASICS:

So since the patch, the sorcerer has become a paper plate, but can still be a menace when played well.

Your Combo:

Simply put, Left click -> Right Click -> Left Click -> Right Click, this will cycle through your combo and is far the best way of auto attacking for a mage imo, this is what it should look like

Teleport:
Still a great ability since the patch but currently worthless except for moving around in a straight line away from monsters, there is a huge rubber banding issue that needs to be fixed for this ability to work correctly, i removed this from my toolbars in favour of ‘special move’ which is a roll dodge ability you can check in your hot keys.

MUST HAVE ABILITY:

TENACIOUS SHIELD!

http://i.imgur.com/baJc6U8.jpg

Unfortunately one of the biggest hit abilities of the patch, before hand i was able to get 20k @ 60, now at 70 i have 2500.

It scales of magic defence now, still not sure on the ratio is it seems incredibly stupid and unclear.

Dragon soul abilities such as Squama Protection will increase the shield.

NEXT ARE YOUR AREA OF EFFECT ABILITIES, TONES OF DAMAGE!:

DRAGON SHARDS:

I still use magic damage shards, with the new dragon shard attunement system its incredibly easy to merge shards and get higher level, if you dont want to spend diamonds on the game this is the way to go, 40 magic damage is about 230 energy and i dont know how big they can go

MASTERIES:

A WARNING TO ALL – PLEASE HOVER OVER THE SKILL AS THERE IS MULTIPLE PATHS FOR MANY AND YOU DO NOT WANT TO CHOOSE THE WRONG ONE!

2 Handed Staff build.

I still believe 2h is the way to go, more damage yet i have to test 1h some more as you can get more stats with 1h/off hand attributes, it may be possible to get more damage but sacrifice some of the better 2h abilties.

Tenacious Shield : 5/5  this is still a good talent to get, the shield sometimes blocks full attacks from monsters that do over damage on teh shield

Draconic Brilliance : 5/5 bread and butter, this increases your intelligence by 10% and 20 added stat.

Meteorite :  1/5  lovely aoe damage 1-5 points depending on preference

Draconic Affinity : gives you more penetration as a passive, great skill.

Tornado Tempest : 1/5 lovely skill, especially with 3 tornado’s, does a massive amount of damage and knocks back up to 3 times.

Elemental Grasp : 5/5 passive 10% magic damage? yes please!

Black Hole : 1/1 fantastic for control mobs and players, upgrades to black hole collapse.

Black Hole Collapse : 1/5 right click after you cast black hole and targets will take a big chunk of damage, a great combo.

Annihilation : 1/5 cast takes about 5 seconds and you are immobile while you cast, deals massive aoe damage, you can bug it so you can move while casting, video will come soon.

Absolute Zero: 5/5  150% more freeze time? absolutely amazing against monsters and players alike, 5+ seconds of beat down without worry!

ABILITY POINTS:

Ok so after the patch, we get more stat points over all, i have tested Dragon Affinity and Intelligence and it seems Intelligence is the better to go for pve, it increase your damage better than Dragon Affinity by a fair amount.

However you still may want to go after ancient dragons in which case you can go full Charisma and sacrifice damage for what this game is all about, DRAGONS!!!!!!!!!

TIPS AND TRICKS!

Alot of monsters in the world are easily defeatable in an Aoe mess but i will give you a warning!

Insect type monsters and Zombie type monsters have a nasty high rate of stagger which means if you get caught by multiple of these monsters you will possibly die!

I recommend not pulling more than 5-10 of these mobs and mobs like these depending your skill level.

STAGGERING: Staggering is when a mob hits you and you go under an animation of which you become temporarily disorientated, it ranges from being pushed a little bit to being knocked down completely, when this happens if you are casting an ability it will interrupt it and the ability will go on cooldown.

PVP:

I currently still have no guide for pvp as the nerfs to the sorcerer made us quite useless, with the nerf to stagger the other classes just basically slam us, we cannot control them long enough and their staggers are far more effective.

ANSWER FOR QUESTIONS:

I use Elemental Fury and Elemental Activation, then i use my shield, usually around 2500 magic attack when it comes up, when i hit 60, i will have alot of blues and 4 set pieces to put on so it should be alot more :)

Blackhole is more in preperation to the level cap raise, its useful when having to kite around mobs, disabling elite/rare mobs, you can herd mobs into a tight enough group but sometimes your tornado doesnt hit everything, if you catch all mobs with Blackhole it guarantee’s all your aoes hit, its a fantastic ability.

Its also 1 skill point ;) personally i wasted 5/5 in cloth armor but currently i have 1300 points spare! i just dont know what i want to do with them.

Dimension Rip imo is fairly useless for pve, it decreases the cost by only 50 and the range is really not needed…i tried it with my 2nd spec that i use for testing and it doesnt seem all that great to me.

I believe that the regular TP is just fine, you have to invest 1000 points to get Dimension rip and i feel its just not worth it :)

VIDEO’S OF DUNGEON GAMEPLAY:

Well of Prophecy

Fairy easy as a sorcerer, boss does a couple of knock downs but its nothing your shield cant handle, you should be able to drag a large amount of the mobs to the boss area without pulling him then aoe them down as you cant actually force them to reset that well here, aslong as you are vigiliant and jump around and dodge a bit you should be fine :)

Accursed Tower

This one is a bit neeeh, but fairly simple again to run, just like well of prophecy, keep your shield up and most of the mobs you can run by, during the last boss – Kronos – the only thing i would suggest to look out for is the blackness he casts, it doesnt immobilise you just blackens your screen, remember that ;)

Nameless Keep

The boss here is a bit of a pasty bugger, he drains your mana and your dragon soul, be vigilant and keep your dragons out and whoop his ass :D also – Blinktail spawns in this dungeon.

Dunar Temple

Dekara Tunnels

Phantom spawns in these tunnels, and unfortunately nearly all the mobs will follow you to the boss, so best doing chunks of them as you get past them to avoid bad complications.

Tanarkan Quarry

Again, mobs follow you a hell of a long way and they are fairly strong, do this in chunks depending on how confident you are.

Aymori Sands

Easy peasy, nearly all mobs dont follow you xD and you can jump on the mushroom like i did and they should stop, the only thing to watch out for on the boss is his charge, it deals a tone of damage and if you arent ready for it, it will kill you if you have low hp/shield.

Corzine

You can run all teh way to the boss, drop down and no mobs will follow, he does a few stuns and pushbacks but hardly enough damage to break your shield
