So I’ve played for some time and have picked up on tricks to help get legendary items much quicker. (It all depends on your luck.)
Ark salvage
honestly the fastest way to get key codes, thus leading to lock boxes. Scrip is worthless really, so why sell your items? Convert them (destroy) them into ark salvage.
White-250 AS
Green-500 AS
Blue- 750 AS
Purple-1000 AS
You can quickly get 30k AS over the course of an hour. 30k AS = 30 key codes. You can also go and buy items to convert them into AS for even quicker key codes.
Key codes
simple really, other than the method above, there are major ark fall events that give 3-4 key codes along with weapons occasionally. Here’s a list of the major ark fall events that give key codes!
Farming key codes could be quick and easy. Major events, non ark fall events, convert weapons and items to ark salvage, rinse, and repeat.
Now that we’ve established how to get key codes, the rest is easy, buying lock boxes.
Stay away from tier 4, they’re worthless. Tier 3 is ideal, with a 2.6:1 ratio compared to tier 4, there is a greater chance of getting a legendary! Plus with the 12 items you get you could convert to AS and get back at least some of the key codes spent. Tier 3 has a 6% chance of legendary items while tier 4 has a 8% chance. 2% difference for 3X the cost?? Yeah..NO!
With this method I along with my three brothers have acquired 10 legendary items over the weekend. I hope this helps with faster farming and a more satisfied game experience! I got a legendary shield from a t 3 lock box it took me opening like around 10 but i got one its just by luck and chance i dont even care about the drop rate percent
It has already been stated and proven, T3 is the BEST one to go for. I have opened hundreds of T3’s and have well over 30 legendary weapons/armor/grenades. I NEVER buy t2 or t4.
I am a lvl 1254 and have always bought tier 3 lockboxes and have never found one legendary. But my first try on tier 4 and o get a legendary shotgun.
Am around level 1100. Have received 5 legendary weapons thus far. All from tier 4 lock boxes from time to time. Received two legendaries at once from a tier 4 lockbox when i was at level 372. Received one more legendary around level 800 & two more around level 1000.
I am level 2600 I have opened hundreds of T2,T3, T4 boxes. I have not a single Leg.
It matters not about what you got or even how you got it.
If you aren’t enjoying the difficulty of equipping the right gear you’v lost the point of how to play this game.
No one needs orange weapons, grenade,and shield except for the rather silly Ego Evolution Goal component tho complete a full orange loadout.
You get far superior weapons from building the right blue mods which are far more rare again than most people don’t put value to what they have.
It takes a bit of working out what sort of weapons are superior – but saying that there is not a best match unless you set up your character stats properly as well.
I opened my very first T3 lockbox not more than ten minutes ago and got a legendary lobber. So i’m not sure what all goes into the randomization. I do have Just Rewards level 3 and was partied with my father who also had that perk equipped and mastered.. I’m a lvl 336 if that matters.
I stopped counting how many boxes of all types I opened. The only legendary items I got were from tier 4 boxes.
THIS is complete BULLSHIT. I’ve bought over 20 tier 4, and 20 tier 3. I came out with 7 legendaries out the tier 4, and 1 shitty infector legendary out the tier 3. Don’t believe this dude. It’s BS.
At lvl 200 I got a tier 4 box and pulled 2 oranges out of it (bolt action sniper rifle and pyro nade with no delay). I’m about level 1000 and I haven’t seen a legendary item since. Btw, I usually get blues in tier 4’s.
opened over 60 tier 3 boxes in one weekend. i didnt get any oranges at all. think i will stick to opening tier 4 boxes as thats were i found all mine.
Got my first legendary at 903. Its an FRC SAW and Goddamn I love that thing. Got it in a tier 4. Still use it inarkfalls, constantly get first place +1000000 damage.
My girlfriend is at level 627 got two orange weapons (snipe and pistol) in a tier 4. If you haven’t got a Legendary weapon you’re shit out of luck. Try the OPs tips but buy tier 4. It’s what I’ve been doing all along and taught my gf to do.
I got a legendary vot bolter from a tier 2 box, so it is possible.
Well I can honestly say that I have bought equally Tier 3 and Tier 4 boxes and I have found 2 legendary items.. this is with the clan loot bonus and a group of people with the group with me bonuses Plus the self loot bonus and it didn’t change what I got in any of my boxes 10 of each got 2 legendary weapons.. what ever your bonus loot chance is doesn’t change the percentages for the boxes… there percentage rate is fixed Tier 3 has .5% chance for legendary items and Tier 4 has 8%… that will not change no matter what your loot chance is….. the lot bonuses that are for yourself clan and group stacks up to 40% increased ITEM DROP RATE.. not the items you get from boxes ITEM DROP RATE so Tier 4 all the way y spend 24 key codes on a .5% chance to get loot I wouldn’t neither should you
So scrip is useless, just convert all loot to AS.
So now u have alot of keys but cant buy boxes because u need 2000 scrip per box too..
I dont get job because i have no XP, i need job to get XP.
I am level 4000 and have full orange weapons.
The key to this is to farm keys, the easiest is mutant medical center.
2-4 keys per run! 10 minutes per run
I’m in the 1200 lvl range, have bought over 200 of each Tier 2, 3, and 4 lockboxes. I have completed the main quest line. I have done all of the side quests. I’m close to being halfway done with all the pursuits.
I have never seen a Legendary weapon.
Out of all the boxes I’ve earned, the T4 has given me the best results. I’ve only recieved blue/purple/orange from T4. The T2/3 have given my greens, and a lot of them. I’m sick of getting grenades and shields! Especially green ones. Arkfalls are really a waste of time unless you’re doing it for fun or just catch the last part and kill the boss for a few tokens. Co-Op gives you tons more items and you earn usually 5 tokens for completion. The % item drop doesn’t boost the rarity of items from lock boxes, it increases the amount of items that drop from kills, there’s also a bunch of perks that help increase your item drop rate.
I think they should add better item rewards for completing arkfalls, just getting shields/nades is ridiculous, the 1-3 tokens is all that’s really useful, but you could get more out of Co-Ops and they’re a bit more fun. I have over 100K arkfall pieces and I’m saving them all for modding weapons when I finally do get the ones I want.
So in short T4 is not worthless, Co-Ops give you more items and some tokens which means you can buy more keys and boxes. I’ve recieved 2 legendary and 2 purple weapons from one T4 lock box.
Got an orange BMG from my 7th tier 3 box….lucky so far hope it last :)
I’ve pulled 2 orange guns off of tier 2 boxes. All of my friends have pulled theirs from tier 2’s. honestly it takes about 20 tier 2 boxes but I usually get an orange weapon on that average
Got 3 Legendary weapons in 10 tier 4 boxes. In 30 tier 3, 0 Legendary.
my first tier 4 box got a orange sniper rifle…….at lvl 198
Also, when I said I received 2 Oranges from the same lockbox twice, I do mean tier 4’s. Just want to clarify that.

I recieved a leg grenade from a t3 lock box. Only opened 10-15 at max
Dont forget if your grouped up with friends or other people and have the loot drop % perks equipped they stack with other group members. So if every person has those perks equipped it ups your chances for better weapons by quite a bit.
1ST T4 BOX PURPLE 162X8 PUMP SHOTTIE WITH VET SYNERGY, STOWED WEAPON RELOAD, AND HEAL ON MELEE DAMAGE NANO. FELT LUCKY SO I GRINDED SOME CO-OPS AND ARKFALLS. BOUGHT TWO T3 BOXES POPPED ORANGE VOT SMG WITH SURVIVAL SYNERGY AND GRENADE RECHRGE ON KILL AND ELECTRICAL NANO, PURPLE REBOUND ROCKET WITH OUTLAW, PURPLE “LONG SOMETHING” ROCKET WITH OUTLAW AND PURPLE ROCKET THAT SPREADS GOO OR BLAST AREA. THIS WAS ALL IN ONE EVENING THE DAY OF LAUNCH. NOT TO MENTION ALL THE BLUES AND LIMITED GREEN FROM THE BOXES. ALSO PICKED UP AN ORANGE GRENADE LAUNCHER THE FOLLOWING WEEK FROM A T3 BOX
10 legendary, sorry typo. I still dont belive it. You need around 100 T3 boxes to get maybe 1 if you are lucky. If not you never will get one…
20 Legendarys at one WE? Yeah sure….I complete the game, buy around 25 – 30 T3 lockboxes and i NEVER EVER see any Legendary Weapon. So i have to say you lie, sir….
i dont find but one of the defiance says :Tier 3 boxes has less then 1 % drop für legendarys .honestly dont write bullshit like that pls!! the only way to farm is to buy Tier 4 boxes.
From what I read, the devs said tier 3’s have a 1% chance of dropping a legendary item. Do you have a data hack to prove them wrong?
I have received 2 orange items in the same lock box, twice O.o
Why not get the 2 item box then? It’s a better cost per item ratio than 3, just like is than 4. Or does the chance of a legendary go up with each tier?
