The Secret World Slaughterhouse Farming Guide

The Secret World Slaughterhouse Farming Guide by Escalith

Yes, Heal-Tanking has been discussed and several builds have been posted; and outgearing the content was the most likely possible way to clear the dungeons. Well, kind of.

This build I’m going to describe here is a QL10 (Blue) Heal-Tank build that I use, tested and run with very positive results in the Slaughterhouse Dungeon.
I might not be the very first to come up with the exact build, but I did not copy this from anyone else. It was my own creation.

I can NOT guarantee that will be as effective in other dungeons but you’re more than welcome to try.

Build 1 – Claws/Sword

[507 Points] – Skills –

Actives

1. (Fist Tier 2) – Cauterize
2. (Fist Tier 2) – Surgical Steel
3. (Fist Tier 2) – Empathy
4. (Fist Tier 2) – Creature Comfort
5. (Fist Tier 2) – Vigour
6. (Turbulence) – Stoicism {E}
7. (Blade Tier 1) – Martial Discipline

Passives

1. (Fist Tier 2) – Hot Iron
2. (Fist Tier 2) – Making Amends
3. (Fist Tier 2) – Healing Sparks
4. (Fist Tier 2) – Empowerment {E}
5. (Turbulence) – Agitator
6. (Blade Tier 1) – Regeneration
7. (Fist Tier 2) – Glimmer of Hope

– Items –

You want to Itemize for Healing, as a Priority. 1 Head, 3 Upper, 1 Lower Talisman should increase Heal Rating and -PREFERABLY- Crit and Crit Power at a 60-70/40-30 Ratio.

2 Lower Talisman (You will need 2 sets each) – have to add +Health and either +Magical or +Physical Protection. You will want to aim for ~ 450 Protection with either set.

Your claw should have +Crit as well, the Machine Fist from Slaughterhouse is the best non Epic item.

Build 2 – Claws/Chaos

[618 Points] – Skills –

Actives

1. (Fist Tier 2) – Cauterize
2. (Fist Tier 2) – Surgical Steel
3. (Fist Tier 2) – Empathy
4. (Fist Tier 2) – Creature Comfort
5. (Turbulence) – Stoicism {E}
6. (Chaos Tier 1) – Illusion
7. (Chaos Tier 2) – Smoke and Mirrors

Passives

1. (Fist Tier 2) – Hot Iron
2. (Fist Tier 2) – Making Amends
3. (Fist Tier 2) – Healing Sparks
4. (Fist Tier 2) – Empowerment {E}
5. (Turbulence) – Agitator
6. (Chaos Tier 2) – Contradiction
7. (Fist Tier 2) – Glimmer of Hope

– Items –

Like with the first build, you should prioritize +Crit on your gear reaching around 500.
This time however you need to itemize some of your healing gear to add +Evasion. Preferably reaching around 400-500 as well.

– Notes to Build 2-

This build sacrifices some of the survivability of Martial Discipline + Regeneration to be able to add the Exposed debuff to the target due to dodging. An error on your part will be FAR more punishing, but you are able to reliably push your groups DPS up by 10-15%. If you have enough lucky evade procs you might even reach 10 stacks, giving an overall increase of 30%.
Group Heals are null, thus your DPS must be able to take as little damage as possible; aka – know all fights and avoid all the damage.

– Tactics & How to heal your group –

Your 4 DPS are preferably ranged, as the second (Machine) boss will have to be kited eventually when too many adds swarm around you.

You start the fight with Stoicism and Creature Comfort; giving you an initial aggro of ~4000×8 over the first 7 seconds. After that use Stoicism on cooldown, spam Creature Comfort and Cauterize on yourself.

Should you take damage that you believe can’t outheal in time, first use Empathy – then Surgical Steel. This order is to prevent the huge health drop from the lack of a constant HoT after Surgical Steels initial healing burst.

Should group members take damage and/or you are a point of where you are uncertain you can’t outheal yourself in time and Empathy is on cooldown, use Martial Discipline to become temporarily invulnerable. (Pretty much. 50% glance chance and a 2500 health HOT over 6 seconds)

Vigour can be used for group healing, but also for a threat boost. Hitting 5 party members when it ticks for 150 health, means 150x5x3 threat. Per second.

At least one DPS should bring a cleanse to smoothen the run and increase the kill speed on bosses with shields.

Tactics should not be ignored. If you are frozen or stuck in a flesh clump or struck down by Hybrid Soldier, the group will most likely wipe as their healer and tank died at once.

– The Fights –

Boss 1:
Tank and spank. After the first Tesla Spule discharged run behind the console to pull the boss close, the DPS should have it down before the Testla Charge returns. (Magic Gear might be more helpful than Physical Gear – Untested, possible in Physical)

Boss 2:
The dreaded Machine boss. Your DPS should ALWAYS focus the boss. Try to move and tank him in a corner and try not to pick up too many little bots. You will eventually but the longer it takes them the better. Save your Martial Discipline for the last discharge of the boss to tank all the little adds at once. Tell your DPS to stay away from you cause all of the mobs and the boss cleave.

Boss 3:
Tank and spank. Run to the right side at the start and tank the boss there. The DPS should have him down before the Tesla Charges reach you.

Boss 4:
CRUCIAL – Do not kill the scientists. If they are dead designate a DPS to run close and get stunned. Pretarget them and heal them up. If you get stunned the fight is over. Ideally send the Vampires fist.

Boss 5:
Tank and spank. Run past him and to the end of the corridor – ignore the adds. Dodge his skills.

Boss 6:
If you are Iced or Fleshclumped, the DPS must be on their toes. You won’t survive long. When the DPS is hit by the red bombs throw a quick Vigour for them to stand in and heal up. Make sure to tell them beforehand that this is most likely the only healing they will receive unless the boss is in a ‘break’ phase where you don’t take damage.
– Phase 2 – Avoid the Poison, this is a smart moment to save Martial Discipline for if you can’t evade it.

[Final Words]

Thanks to Fluttie, Riverboy, Carassana, Clautz (I got the name wrong I’m sure, sorry) and Schokoholz for helping me test and finalize this build.

I hope you have fun trying it out should you do so! =)
