PlanetSide 2 Infiltrator Rifles Guide

PlanetSide 2 Infiltrator Rifles Guide by Xiphos

I wrote this guide based on the PS2 weapon data sheet since the in-game information on weapons isn’t accurate. Each faction has the same weapons, with a few minor differences. Sniper rifles come in two flavors: bolt-action rifles and semi-automatic rifles. The bolt-action rifles kill in one hit to the head and two hits to the body but must chamber a new round after each shot. The semi-automatic rifles kill in two hits to the head and three to the body (targets with maxed Nanoweave armor require four).

So what’s better, the semi-automatic or bolt-action rifles? Semi-automatics are better against targets likely to shoot back and when sniping targets that keep moving to make headshots difficult. If headshots are possible, the bolt-action rifles are obviously better.

What are the scout rifles good for? They’re meant for infiltration.

The Flashlight is counterproductive on all rifles and the Forward Grip is useless on bolt-action rifles. As such I have omitted them. The default scope has presumably a 6x magnification.

Compared to the semi-automatic sniper rifles, aimed shots are slightly less accurate but hip shots are MUCH more accurate. They lose a LOT less accuracy per shot as well.

This is essentially an assault rifle. Compared to the semi-automatic scout rifle it does slightly more damage per second but with harder to control burst fire.
