Marvel Avengers Alliance Unstable ISOs Guide

Marvel Avengers Alliance Unstable ISOs Guide by Atis

We all know we can get unstable ISOs by accepting gifts and/or buying them with gold. This thread is about how to have more than that.

(text in green is updated for SpecOp4)

HOW TO GET UNSTABLE ISOS:

1) SpecOp Roulettes. What are the odds to gain some ISOs after defeating a boss in SpecOp is something calculable.

I’m going to report my results for SpecOp4 editing post #2. I will try to give percentages as soon as possible.
The reason I didn’t give percentages daily for SpecOp3, although I had promised to, is the increase of game speed. You can find my opinion on the matter here. I felt the need to apologize since I usually keep my promises.
Feel free to report your results too, although I can not give any promises this time. However, I decided to greatly simplify categories as you will see bellow.

I hope this statistics will be useful to those players who either will start the SpecOp 4 late and wonder if they will have the time to earn Ghost Rider in time or have him in time and wonder about the odds for the weapon rewards.

2) SpecOp Deployments. Same as above. Curently no unstable ISO seems to be as a possible reward for non specific hero deployments in SpecOp4, but there is absolute zero data for specific hero deployments (see bellow).

3) Daily Rewards. Another source for unstable ISOs, same as with the previous SpecOp.

Some people asked me why I didn’t add a poll like other people did. I had 2 reasons for this: a. I believe polls should be used only for really really important issues and b. polls are giving really really inaccurate percentages because of all the limitations those polls have (you can only vote once for example).

If you are hasty however, you can check this thread:
http://forum.playdom.com/showthread….daily-roulette
Just keep in mind you are getting just an idea as they are all greatly inaccurate.

4) Farming! Who said farming is dead? You can have plenty of ISOs by making them dropp in-battle, farming them the same way we did for CPs against the Epic Boss Electra.

Actually this is why I gave the title “9 ISOs or less per battle” to this thread: even if you are extremely unlucky with roulettes and deployments, I guarantee you are going to have one unstable ISO every time you are having a battle, resulting that battle costing you one unstable ISO less.

BUT only if you do it right. I have referred on Roulette Odds thread I have a technique for farming consumables and some newbies have asked me with pm what it is. I’m not going to write here something experienced players do not already know, but I hope this would be useful for the noobs. So here we go:

The basic principle is to make as many critical hits as possible. How you can do it – how I do it:

– Give your agent a scrapper uniform with nothing but Precise ISOs (those red which specialize on accuracy).
– Keep also a generalist uniform, again with nothing but Precise, for whenever you are going to face bruiser(s). Those two will be your farming uniforms.
– Equip your agent with 3 X-ploiters and The Perforator for a normal fight or a Batstone for an easier fight.
– Add to your team Emma Frost and Scarlet Witch, preferably, but not necessarily, with nothing else than Precise ISOs.
– If you can’t slot them only Precise, try to have as much accuracy as possible and as less attack as possible.
– During the battle try to use only Hex Spheres, Mental Trauma, one X-ploiter every turn and the Perforator (or the Batstone).
– Adjust your game-play to include Unlock Potential for restoring stamina and/or consumables from your inventory to keep your team alive and/or exclude Hex Spheres and Mental Trauma if the battle is way too easy for the drop be done before your opponents are going to be dead.
– You can even use Phoenix Essence to keep an easy opponent alive until they give you the drop!
– If you don’t have Emma Frost and/or Scarlet Witch you can always use only your agent as a farmer. A good alternative for easy battles is Mockingbird for the guaranteed criticals. For harder battles you can use a defender like Colossus, Storm or Invisible Woman. Either way try to remember never use avenger costumes and never bring an infiltrator or a class shifter in a battle with enemy tacticians cause you don’t want to do counter attacks. If this is the case you can replace Mockingbird with Phoenix (for Mind Link) if available.
– Try to remember having good and enough consumables before a not so easy battle or else you may need a gadget like Curative Reach or a healer like Iron Fist.
– Be confident. Your agent’s inventory is a powerful feature. You can win the AI without using your best tactics.
– If, however, you are afraid of loosing, quit farming and focus on wining. You don’t want to waste 10 or 20 ISOs trying to get 1.
– Be patient. Some fights are sooo easy, you might have to use nothing but the X-ploiters (which by the way they can cause item drops too, although they are not doing any damage).
– That means you may need more time for a battle. If you really really need a drop I guarantee you can have it IF the required time is available. If not, finish them and try again. Sometimes the drop takes too much time to be done.
– ISO dropping is not happening only on SpecOp. You can farm the storyline (without being afraid of wasting ISOs in case of a lose) plus you will probably need to farm storyline’s roulettes for CPs anyway, so they are battles you are going to give anyway. Have them by farming ISOs (and consumables) in-battle during your way to those storyline roulettes.
– You can even farm ISOs in-battle at pvp section, but try to remember a) you won’t have an inventory avalaible in pvp, b) the drop rate on a ranking battle is lower and c) Practice do not give anything ever, so avoid practice as a surely waste of time.

Some people say M.O.D.O.K. (1.4 boss) is ideal for farming consumables in-battle… Post your opinion if you think otherwise or if you would like to confirm this.

I think I’m not forgetting anything. Last note about farming: The drop rate is relative to the difficulty of a battle. That means you are usually either going to have the drop soon and get soon yourself free to win a not so easy battle or having an easy battle, the drop will be done after more time, but you will be safe until then and you won’t have to worry about your team’s survivability.

If you would like to help dy adding your spins results, please do so on a new post after post #23
Keep it real simple. The kind of boss (normal or epic) in case of a roulette or the kind of deployment (spesific hero or non specific hero) and the name of the reward of each of your spins would be enough.

5) Free ISOs. You can always check this thread http://forum.playdom.com/showthread….-Stuff-for-All in case of ISO gifts from playdom. Check the above link daily.

HOW TO SAVE UNSTABLE ISOS

1) Do tasks outside SpecOp whenever possible. Use this Marvel Avengers Alliance Special Operations Guide to know which tasks you can do them outside SpecOp, where you can do them and how.

2) Only necessary deployments. Unless another guide advice you otherwise (in case a deploy can make you progress faster on a mission, thus save unstable ISOs and energy), deploy on 4.1 and 4.3 only if you have already Ghost Rider and all the weapon rewards you need from the roulettes, as deployments are not free as they are in storyline and are not useful for tasks and they would otherwise be a waste of your valuable unstable ISOs. Thanks to zephyrangel for this advice.

3) 2bird. Fighting a mini boss and a boss at the same battle will save you unstable ISOs (as well as energy).

4) Avoid bugs. I personally never start a SpecOp from day 1 since there are always bugs on the first days and you may risk loosing unstable ISOs… Since you won’t need more than 5-10 days to get Ghost Rider, if you are not a late comer you will have the luxury to wait for devs to stabilize the game before you begin playing the SpecOp. At those first days you can instaid farming CPs for those heroes you will need to deploy for task 24.

If you are an experienced player and you notice I’m forgetting something, please post your comment bellow.
personal notes (keep this in white fonts) – contribution so far:
Atis – post #2 > I’m noting which are to be recorded
SpecOp3 results added. No one else contributed so far for Specop4

PERCENTAGES FROM GIVEN REPORTS SO FAR
Keep in mind those numbers are as reliable as big (or as unreliable as small) the sample is. I added results from the previous SpecOp, but more contribution is needed.
