Legend of Edda Assassin Skills Analysis

Legend of Edda Assassin Skills Analysis by Taropat

I have always been a fan of the Rogue / Stealth class styles… and with that I would like to think I have a pretty decent understand of what the class can do with its skill set depending on the game and have came up with a small review or over-view of the class itself within Legend of Edda…

at the start of the game the rogue class is no different then any other class. It has its basic attack and a 2 skills… While in CBT the archer skill only worked every once in awhile with no real reason to why it did not… BUT at this time you are open to a very powerful skill… I do not know the name but it is the archer back slide.

This skill can be very useful in War, Leveling or even PVP. Even though the turning on the sprite can be unwilling at times, you can use this skill to close the gap between your rogue and any class in the game, or even use it to get out of range…

Now when leveling from 1~20 you can honestly just throw all your points into whatever you want. since when you change your job into you desired class you get a full reset. So test the skills out multi-class if you like. You do not have to worry about skills right now…

Once you hit 20 you become available for a job change / advancement into a class of your choosing. I do not know why but it still says changing into a shadow walker… but it shows up as Assassin after words…

So you start out at 20 with 24 skill points… Do not know where the extra points come from but it is awesome…

Now I have noticed all the skills show (+1.00PA) at the end. or some other number in place… View this like attack ratios… for every # of attack you have you get additional # of damage added… so…

If you have

100 attack. and its +1.00PA, it adds 100 additional damage to your skill on top of its base number…
+0.50PA adds 50 additional damage
+0.15PA adds 15 additional damage

So take your total physical attack and multiply it by the (+1.00PA) or whatever number is inside the parenthesis, and that will give you how much additional damage the skill will do…

so take Ghost hand..

my basic attack right now at is 10+173. Ghost hand gives 50 (+1.00PA)

10+173+50 = 233 damage, now this is not factoring in defense or the chance that your weapon wont give you its 100% damage… as most weapons have ranges…

So looking at the skill list…
Let us begin…
CP – Charge Point

Ghost Hand– this is your basic skill… 3 second cooldown, adds 1 CP. I currently have mine at level 6 and it does 50dmg(+1.00PA)… I really do not think it is worth putting so many points into this skill. as it damage increase per levels is very small, but this is your primary skill I am just recommending make sure your other damaging skills get points as well. (this skill can be cast between almost every auto attack. once you hit 10+ attack speed it is every 2)

Dragon Claw– this is your primary stunner. has a slightly high cooldown of 10 seconds, and a small stun of only 1 second making it not spammable but a very useful skill to stop people from stealing your XTAL or to stun an opponent during PvP. at level 6 it gives 58(+1.00PA) and jumps to 84 at level 7, now with it being such a high cooldown You are not counting on it as much to deal the damage just for the mini stun. level it if necessary but the damage + Cooldown = not a must. have at least 1 point in the skill.

Serpent Fang– Your very first DOT ( damage over time) and with an amazing cooldown of only 5 seconds!!! meaning as soon as the poison ends you can apply it again. this skill is very useful for weakening enemies quickly. at it does fairly decent damage over 4 seconds. at level 4 this skill gives initial hit of 40(+1.00PA) and does 61(+0.50PA) over 4 seconds…

(As i said above I have 183 attack…
first hit does 223…
then does 61+91.5 (if you are wondering why it adds like that… it is because you are doing a base of 61 dmg THEN adding half of your PA)
so roughly 40 dmg per second.
Grand total of 375.5 dmg over 4 seconds.)

Blackout-– Very interesting skill with high possibility… Skill does your normal attack (+1.00PA) not bad at all… not at level 1 the skill stuns a monster for 30 seconnds and a player for 3.5 seconds. if the target is hit at all the stun is broken. with a VERY high cooldown of 45 seconds. But now here is where it gets interesting. with each successive level it reduces the Cooldown by 5 seconds, increases the stun by 5 seconds and by 0.5 against players. so at level 3 it has a 35 second cooldown stuns for 40 seconds and 4 seconds. very nice damage and very high possibility… But remember your poison counts as damage…

Stealth- Name says it all. 10 second cooldown between casts only difference from old stealth is that this one lasts forever, starts at a base of 40% reduced move speed and moves down to i believe 15% reduced move speed. what is very nice about this skill is that you can cast all of your buffs while within stealth and not break it. so pots, Fragment, infect, sprint. cast any of these and be completely ok)
Not really much to go into… Since the duration is infinite or until struck, the movement speed slow is not really that bad but it makes it a pain in catching people. leveling this is very useful.

Fragment- my favorite skill so far… Makes every single one of your offensive attacks / skills hit multiple targets. Black out… not hits multiple people. Serpent Fang same thing… the damage you do after this buff is cast seems very inconsistent, VERY HIGH cooldown of 120 seconds. duration is 15 seconds at all levels. at level one you hit 3 targets. and hit an additional target per level. so 5 targets at level 3 and so on…

Neurotoxin– Now this skill is VERY iffy… Decreases targets agility for 3 seconds at a 30% chance of happening. this buff lasts 1 hour… lvl one 30 agi, lvl two 50 agi. Now the reason I say that this is iffy. Everyone has enough skills to cast one between every attack since its a one second global cool down between skills… meaning you can only cast 1 a second… so reducing anyone but a rogues attack speed seems almost worthless… but it is the second thing that agility does… Increasing casting speed… so you have a 30% chance to reduce a casters casting speed by 30/50/70 agi and so on… which makes this skill seem VERY potent against casters and nothing else… (this buff can not be active at the same time Infect is)

Infect– Now this is what i prefer to use, it stacks with Serpent Fang to add even more DOT, Does 150(+0.10PA) over 4 seconds at level 1. but at level 2, 300(+0.15PA) is it greatly increases in dmg from level one to two. but once again… 30% chance to effect the enemy. and lasts 1 hour. So now you have 2 DOTs going on your opponent at once, so even if you stop hitting them they are going to be taking a bit of damage. (This buff cannot be active at the same time as Neurotoxin)

Combat Stealth– Lets you go into stealth while in combat VERY VERY VERY VERY useful, but if you have a DOT on you. you will pop back out in 1 second. Level 1 lasts 4 seconds, Level 2 lasts 8 seconds and so on… Now interesting fact. If you try to cast stealth directly from Combat Stealth it pops you out and puts stealth on cooldown, so you have to wait for combat stealth to end before using stealth to hide again. now combat stealth pulls you out of combat making you able to use other skills that cant be used in combat. 120 second cooldown

Sprint– another iffy skill for me… at level 1. increases your move speed by 100% for 2 seconds… now its that 2 seconds thing that makes me not want to get it… but at level 2 it lasts for 4 seconds which is nice… and im hoping maybe either 6 or 8 seconds at level 3. which would make it completely worth it. other then that its up to you if you want to put points into it. you can use it as a quick boost to catch people running away or for yourself to run away. now this can also be cast while in stealth. 60 second cooldown at level 1, each level reduces the cooldown by 5 seconds.

Life Recovery– This skill is weird and you can only put 1 point into it…highly recommend getting it even though it is kinda buggy… regens your HP per second. anywhere from 81 over 5 seconds to 54 over 30 seconds… at least for me. if you have more matk then me obviously you will heal for more. and when i said buggy i meant that sometimes you get the healing over 30 seconds instead of over something else and the opposite. Has no cooldown

Purification– Removes all debuffs… 90 second CD which is VERY high. as it stands this skill seems not worth it… As the wording states it removes all debuffs at the time of casting… so if someones constantly hitting you… that just did nothing for you but make you stop for a second to cast and let the enemy catch up… If it did a removes everything at the time of casting then reduced the effects for the next 4 seconds. this skill would be pro as all life… but it does not… so this is really up to you… I can see its usefulness having had 12+ Status effects on me at once before. but all it takes is for them to hit you again… and when its 50 people… youre going to get hit again… (Now if you can cast this as soon as you go into combat stealth and remove the DOTs… it might just save you)

Evasion– Really want to try this skill out cause it seems kinda busted… 180 second cooldown (3 minutes) Increases your EVASION by 150 for 10 seconds thats a fair duration to say no to people attacking you… now unlike a lot of things it says the official name… not the secondary name like Fortune, or Rapidity… it says EVASION, now as it stands at level 30 i have only 35 evasion… and i dodge every once in awhile… Multiplying it by 5 seems even better. now evasion is listed as *The chance to dodge an enemies attack* this does not say physical or magical… so P.Dodge and M.Dodge seem to be in one stat meaning once you cast evasion you have a REALLY high chance to dodge everything… this skill is a must.

Fragment Mastery– not really much here increases fragment duration by 5 seconds. it is a passive. if you like fragment as much as I do. you will be getting this along with me.. who doesnt love passives :O

Back Stab– *MUST BE CAST FROM STEALTH* hits your target for 37(+1.00PA) and stuns them for 1.5 seconds. 67 at level 2. I really wanna like this skill… it helps with defending your crystal and lets you get a free stun in before combat. which you can chain to the other stun Dragon Claw 2 seconds later leaving them stunned for 3 seconds. which you can chain into blackout for a 3.5 second stun. but it is the fact you have to be in stealth to use it… and catching someone in stealth is a pain. this is a very useful skill. recommend getting at least 1 level in it. as it is another stun, and having control over your opponent is the best thing ever. but 20 second cooldown

Strangle-*MUST BE CAST FROM STEALTH* hits your target for 300(+1.00PA) 450 at level 2 over 10 seconds and then silences your target for 1.5 seconds. now this is another DOT… 30 a second… now this combined with the other 2 DOTs. end up with about 110 damage per second. which is really nice damage. but once again must be cast from stealth so is only an opener. can be very effective if the silence was a little bit longer, but they can still attack. 15 second cooldown

Ambush– 900 range our very first actual AoE spell and it is sweet. hit in roughly twice your attack range. so its not a huge area but its still an area. 60 second CD, so you’re not spamming this, 97(+1.05PA) not bad damage, mainly seems used to find other assassins either running or coming in, great tool for mobbing… but here is why this skill is amazing, it stuns for 1.5 seconds. not only do we get an AoE. but it is an AoE stun. its perfect.

Gouge– *this is our replacement for Assassinate* Hits your target with a normal attack… so 183(+1.00PA) Comsuming CP will cause this skill to do more damage. 247/385/459/520/600(+0.25PA) when using 5 CP. now im not sure if this stacks or is just a base number as each point says (+0.25PA) after the damage … so were going to go with the not so broke idea… ok lets see.
183+229+600 = 1011.75 dmg, now this is a level 37 skill and I am only using level 27 weapons… this damage could double for all we know…
But I am sure you are thinking… I have 6,000 HP in war why do I consider this skill to be our new sinate? because it only has a 8 second cooldown… so now we do not have to run in and burn 90% of our HP to do a health bar we can constantly throw out high numbers all day. now we have DPS not just burst.

Blind– Range 900, 30 second cooldown, and blinds the target for 1 second making them unable to attack… 66(+1.03PA) Considering its 1 second between skills… this saves you from 1 attack… do not see how this skill could be worth while in place of a stun… but the higher levels could be much better…

Ant Lion- Now this skill, it terrifies me… Go under ground and become invisible and *INVINCIBLE* does not say how longer it lasts, reduce your movement speed by 60%. psh I am invincible, why do i need move speed? the second part I am trying to figure out how it works.
Ant Lion Continued* Ant Lions Pit- Your target will drop out of combat for 5 seconds. ( this is all it says) does that happen on cast? or cast at will? or do you pop out and put them into the ground? I must know!!! 60 second cooldown.

Survival- Worthless… Completely worthless. *EP will not be consumed while buff is active*… considering we have to wait 1 second after each skill and you regen like 200 a second… I do not see how this skill could be worth anything…now if it is missing some text my opinion could change but as it stands… worthless

If I said Adds your attack. it is considered a basic attack with a skill at the end of it. so your normal damage + the skills damage

Now this is just an over-view of my opinions about the new skills for Assassin. you can build how you want and have your own opinions but these are mine. =P

any ideas or insight onto some of the later skills would be great :O

Ok so I wrote this guide on the Legend of Edda forums before it went down for maintenance…

This is a guide for the CBT… while they did not mention it but the CBT was an old out-dated version of the LoE client… most of these skills are wrong or have the names changed… Please be considerate of that if you are looking at my guide :D
