Knight Age Archer Guide
Knight Age Archer Guide by Distearate
About Me
I have been playing this game ever since closed beta. Since closed beta all I have played in Knight Age is the archer class. I was the first to reach level 24 in both closed beta and open beta, which also means I was the first archer
to do so. I mostly PvP (Player versus Player) now since I’ve reached the new level cap of 35. I’ve had many experiences and tested a lot of the skills. I want to share any of my knowledge about this class and I hope it helps you create the archer of your desire.
About The Archer Class
The archer class is a long ranged physical damage dealer. It can use burst damage skills, poison and traps to bring down enemies. It also has a variety of buffs that can boost the archer’s abilities and that of their teammates. They
have great DPS (Damager Per Second) and are a great Damage Dealer/Support Damage in any party. One problem with the archer is that they have low stats. The only high stat they get is dexterity. The archer doesn’t have mana problems at the early levels, but
once you start to get more skills and your other ones get better, mana starts to become a problem. It is how you fight that mana dependence on whether you beccome an okay archer or a great one.
About This Guide
There isn’t a best build out there, it is all about preference. People always think there is one build that beats them all, but there isn’t. It is all about how you play and what you like to use. There are some things about the archer
that I think are completely useless and you may not. This guide was made from my personal experience and opinion on the skills that I tested. Wihout any more delay let’s head on to the guide.
Stats
There are 6 stats in this game. All of them affect the archer in some way. The main stats of an archer are Dexterity (Dex), Agility (Agi), Constitution (Con) and Wisdom (Wis). People will ask why wisdom? I believe wisdom is important
because the archer class is very mana dependent and needs as much as they can get to keep dishing out damage.
Dexterity (Dex) – The main stat of an archer. It increases the archer’s damage, accuracy, evasion, critical hit and critical evasion. It is a must to have a lot of dex for
your archer. It is the most useful stat an archer could have. Not only does it increase damage, you get a boost in everything you could ever ask fo. Only problem is; it doesn’t give defense or health but that gets solved with other stats.
Constitution (Con) – I believe this is the second most important stat for an archer. You may ask why not agility? Ifound that agility doesn’t increase an archer’s stats that
much. You can icnrease your agi by 4 points and if you get the same increase from dex, the dex will do the same thing and give even more stats. Anyways, con increases your maximum health, health recovery, evasion and critical evasion. Who doesn’t want survivability?
This stat helps you survive hits when you’re kiting mobs or other players in case they do get that lucky hit or some lag spike happens.
Agility (Agi) – This is tied for third for an archer. Agility doesn’t give much stats at all for the archer. It doesn’t give damage and it barely increases your evasion and
accuracy. Other classes like the Warrior benfit from this more than archers. If you want an extra evasion and accuracy boost this stat can help you do that if dex is not enough for you.
Wisdom (Wis) – This is the stat that is tied for third with agility. Archers are mana dependent. Face it, when you run out of mana your dead. To help fight that problem we
increase our mana pool by adding in wisdom. I personally will take wisdom over agility, but it is up to you which are more important.
Skills
Like all classes the archer has many skills at their disposal from burst damage skills to passives that help you deal more damage. Skills increase in damage and mana as you increase
in level and as you level up that skill. Skills are an important element in any RPG (Role Playing Game) genre. I will show (Recommended) after any skill that I believe is a must for any archer to have, and this (X/X) means how many upgrades it has. Enough
of me chatting away here are the skills.
Job Level 1 Skills:
(Attack) Powerful shooting (0/7) (Recommended)
– Fire an arrow containing powerful energy against the enemy dealing X amount of damage. I recommend maxing this skill. It has a very short cool down and
good damage and it also doesn’t use much mana. Upgrading this skill increases the amount of damage dealt and decreases the cool down.
(Attack) Deadly Poison Arrow (0/9) – Fires an arrow
with deadly poison against the enemy dealing X% of the normal damage every 3 seconds for 15 seconds. This is a great skill to have for a PvE (Player Versus Environment) based archer. Higher difficulty dungeon bosses have a lot of health and having a DOT (Damage
Over Time) skill will help. Upgrading this skill increases the amount of damage dealt and decreases the cool down.
Job Level 10 Skills:
(Attack) Deadly Poison Cloud (0/7)
– Shoots a mixture that intensifies the poison for Deadly Poison Arrow. The mixture causes the venom t spread in all directions, dealing X% of the normal damage every
3 seconds for 15 seconds on nearby enemies. In other words this poison only works if deadly poison arrow is already on the target. Also it is an AOE (Area of Effect) poison, so it will infect all the enemies around the target. I recommend this for PvE purposes.
As with Deadly Poison Arrow; DoTs help in boss fights and this one is helpful when AoEing groups of mobs. Upgrading this skill increases the amount of damage dealt and decreases the cool down.
(Stance-Passive) Chance Capture (0/5) (Recommended)
– Seizes the chance to attack during combat. If your character evades an enemy’s attack, Ranged attack increases by X%, and, if the enemy evades your attack, you have
a X% chance of increasing you rranged attack by X% for 15 seconds. What all this junk means is that when you evade an attack your ranged damage will increase by a certain percentage based on your skills level and when you miss an attack the same thing happens.
Who doesn’t want increased damage? Upgrading this skill increases the damage boost.
Job Level 20 Skills:
(Attack) Concentrated Shooting (0/7)
– Attacks the weak part of the enemy’s defense through high concentration, dealing X% of damage to the target and decreasing X% of defense for 6 seconds. I have not used
this skill yet, I should have, but it seems very useful against Warriors and Knights or anything with high defense. This can help you deal more damage seeing that it decreases defense. Upgrading this skill increases the damage, reduces the cool down and increases
the amount of defense that is lowered.
(Attack) Thorn Trap (0/9)
– Installs a 30 second trap with sharp thorns. The trapped target receives X amount of damage. Its cool down time is shared with other trap skills. I find this skill
useless. One thing is that it isn’t fired.ANother thing is that it shares a cool down with another trap skill that is more useful. Upgrading this skill increases the damage.
Job Level 30 Skills:
(Attack) Explosive Killing (0/7) (Recommended)
– Fires an explosive arrow, dealing X amount of damage to the enemies and knocking them down. I recommend maxing this skill It provides a knockdown and it has a small
AoE range, so you can knock down multiple targets if their close to each other. Great for PvP since knockdown skills are a must have. Has a kinda of long cast time, just be cautious when using it. It can be interrupted if your stunned or get rigid ( Which
is a mages interrupt). Upgrading this skill increases damage, reduces the cast time and reduces the cool down.
(Stance) Sniper’s Stance (0/5)
– Takes a proper measure to snipe a target. Accuracy increases by X amount, attack speed by X% and ranged attack by X amount for 15 seconds. If your character moves during
Sniper’s Stance, its effect is canceled. I would recommend this for PvE but not for Pvp. While partying or soloing in PvE, you won’t take much damage and this helps you dish out more damage. In PvP you are constantly running and kiting trying not to get hit.
So you won’t be able to take full advantage of this amazing buff. Upgrading this skill increases all the stats if affects and decreases the cool down.
Job Level 40 Skills:
(Attack) Restriction Shooting (0/5) (Recommended)
– Fires and arrow containing binding magic against the enemy, dealing X amount of damage and immobilizing the target. I recommend putting at least 1 point into this skill.
It is great for almost any situation during PvE and PvP. It roots targets, what else do you need this for. The damage is not that great and has a kind of long cool down but, rooting the target is the only thing you need from this skill. Sadly it doesn’t root
bosses, if it did, we can solo any dungeon. Upgrading this skill increase the damage and lowers the cool down.
(Stance-Passive) Stable Hunting (0/5) – The installed
trap eases the worry about surrounding threats. Being in a 5m radius from the installed trap increases critical hit by X%. This is useful at lower levels, but not so much at higher levels. At higher levels you have high critical rate anyways. You almost ciritcal
hit every hit when attacking. Plus it requires you to be by a placed trap. Not really recommended. Upgrading this skill increases the critical hit rate bonus.
Job Level 50 Skills:
(Attack) Fierce Shooting (0/9) (Recommended) – Fires
an arrow with lethal energy, dealing X amount of damage. This skill is the second version of Powerful Shooting. It deals a lot more damage and has a faster cool down. It does come with higher mana cost though. I recommend maxing this skill. Upgrading this
skill increases the damage and decreases the cool down.
(Attack) Vibration Trap (0/9) (Recommended) – Installs
a trap that generates powerful vibration for 30 seconds. The trapped target receives X amount of damage and is pushed from the trap. Its cool down is shared with other trap skills. I recommend 1 point in this skill. Like other traps it shares a cool down of
10 seconds, but the great thing about this one is that it knocks targets back and off of their mounts. A must have for PvE and PvP. Upgrading this skill increases the damage.
Job Level 60 Skills:
(Attack) Palsy Arrow (0/7) (Recommended)
– Attacks the enemy with a poison arrow that causes palsy, dealing X amount of damage and decreasing the target’s attack speed by X% for X seconds. I recommend maxing
this skill, very useful against melee opponents and it has more damage than Powerful Shooting. Kind of long cool down so don’t rely on it being used a lot on one enemy. Upgrading this skill increases the damage, lowers the cool down and increases the amount
of seconds it stays on the target.
(Stance-Passive) Shooting Technique
(0/5)
– The skillful employment of the shooting technique has a X% chance of increasing attack speed by X% for 15 seconds. This skill helps increase your attack speed when
auto attacking. Has no other special abilities but attack speed. Upgrading this skill increases the chance and attack speed of the skill.
Job Level 70 Skills:
(Attack) Large Explosive Killing (0/9) (Recommended)
– Fires a highly explosive arrow, dealing X amount of damage to the enemies and blowing them away. This is a better version of Explosive Killing. Not only does it knock
people off their mounts it has a larger AoE radius and actually blows them away several meters. Like Explosive Killing it has a long cast time. Upgrading this skill reduces the cast time, cool down and damage of the skill.
(Passive) Poison Research (0/5) (Recommended)
– The discovery of additional characteristics of poison through poison research enhances ranged attacks by X% when attacking the target affected by Deadly Poison Arrow,
Deadly Poison Cloud, or Palsy Arrow. I recommend maxing this skill. Any damage inflicted on the enemy when they are poisoned gets increased. The more damage you have the better. Upgrading this skill increases the bonus damage.
Job Level 80 Skills:
(Attack) Multi Shooting (0/9) – Attacks several enemies
at the same time. Attacks enemies including the intitial target within the 3m radius, dealing X amount of damage. This is one of your main AoE skills. If you want to AoE enemies it is a must to have this skill maxed. If you like single target killing; leave
this skill alone. Upgrading this skill increases the amount of damage and reduces the cool down.
(Attack) Impact Trap (0/9)
– Installs a 30 second trap that generates a powerful impact. When the trap is triggered, all enemies within a 3m radius receive X amount of damage. Its
cool down is shared with other trap skills. This is another main AoE skill. If you want to AoE enemies it is a must to have this skill maxed just like Multi Shooting. If you rsingle targeting leave this skill alone. Upgrading this skill increases the amount
of damage it does.
Job Level 90 Skills:
(Passive) Battue (0/5) (Recommended)
– A useful hunting also benefits others. The attack of you and other party members within a 20m radius increases by X%. I recommend maxing this skill. It has a great
increase in attack and it increases party members damage as well. Upgrading this skill increases the amount of attack bonus.
Job Level 100 Skills:
(Attack) Light Arrow (0/9) – Fires an arrow to the
sky for a powerful dropping attack. The arrows come down up to X seconds later, and its power is proportional to the time it took to come down. This is the last attack skill you will get. It has a long cast time and cool down. The damage is generated from
the amount of time it is in the air. More upgrades cause the arrows to stay in the air longer, increases the damage, reduces the cool down and reduces cast time.
(Passive-Attack) Lucky Penetration (0/9)
– When attacking the target, the arrow penetrates the enemy by chance. The arrow has a X% chance of dealing additional X amount of damage and X% chance of rendering the
target rigid. In other words this deals extra damage when it is triggered. The more upgrades it has, the more extra damage it does.
Gear
If you made it this far in the guide then congratulations! That was a lot of typing on my part and a lot of reading on your part. Any ways you probably want to know what kind of
stats you want on gear. You should try to get at least gear with the stats below. Just know that it’s impossible to get gear with all of these stats. Pick the stats that you think you most likely will need. Definitely get dex on gear. The other choices are
for you to pick.
Dexterity (Dex)
Constitution (Con)
Wisdom (Wis)
Agility (Agi)
Evasion
Accuracy
End Notes
Please note that I didn’t provide a skill build or my skill build. This is just information and personal opinion about all the skills for the Archer. The recommended skills are
the most useful for any archer. You will have lots of skills points to use to make a build that suits you and your play style. This information is to be used to help you pick the path you want to go down. I didn’t provide any information on hybrid archers
because I haven’t tested any but the mage. Thank you for reading my guide and please like it if it helped you and/or you loved my guide. If you see any errors in the information I put up please leave a comment. Also if you have any questions please leave a
