Levels 1 to 70
For some classes soloing after level 65 is very tough. It is possible, but sometimes some have a harder time than others. To help accomplish leveling after level 65 if you are a Necromancer, I hope with what I show and tell you, this will help further your leveling. If you can kill monsters just as fast soling as you can with a full group, It’s best to solo-definitely. But if you can kill more in full group rather than soloing then obviously you need to be grouped to get this accomplished. Now I’m not saying grouping with 6 people is the solution, but you will however, get the group bonus for doing so. But this guide will show you what mobs and where to solo to gain levels quickly after level 65.
Ok for those that are not and do not have most of your flags for some of the zones I mention, this probably wont work for you, although, there are level requirements for some zones you may be able to enter them, at the specified level , and will be able to solo quite quickly.
Spells used:
Lifetap (for your level)
Snare/dot (for your level)
Lifetap/dot (Zeffers group tap or Singel tap)
Funeral pyre (fire dot)
Pyre of Mori (fire dot)
Darkplague (disease dot) or (splurt)
Magic dot interchangeable
Lich (for your level)
Feign Death ( for your level)
Child of Bertoxxulous/Lost soul/ pet for level (depends on which one you have)
One Computer or Two:
If you have 2 computers setup on the internet, use them! With two computers you can play two separate accounts at the same time. This makes leveling much easier as you can easily setup a Druid/Necromancer or Shaman/Necromancer for slows and buffs which is nice.
2 Boxing
Dual playing Although I know many people who dual play, no one has been banned for doing it. Just don’t mention to anyone that said name (upsilon) who is always with you, is really just you playing a second account. (as example)
If you have a pretty up to date computer and are able to run two separate windows then have fun doing so. If your computer is sluggish and slow and runs like a slug while trying two accounts on one computer then I recommend you not do this as this will make you end up DEAD!
Extra Tips for enhancing speed:
1. Create a second EQ directory. You can simply copy your existing EQ directory to another location and you’ll have to run the patcher from both locations to keep both directories up to date.
2. Toss an empty .txt file called nosound.txt into the root of one of those directories. The sound card being utilized by both instances of the application slows your PC down and creates a good deal of LAG For you.
Zones:
Levels 1- 10
Any home town from which you come or the tutorial
Levels 10 – 15
Kurns Tower:
Kill all the undead Skellies in the tower from top to bottom.
Levels 15-25
Paludal Caverns:
Kill the bandits at either camp 1 or camp 2,
Phlarg Fiends, Mushrooms, Beatles, etc.
Levels 25 – 30
Marus Seru:
Kill the rock creatures, Beatles, centipedes looking things, and the bandits.
Level 30 – 46
Dawnshroud Peaks:
Kill wolves, Zelniaks, Mushrooms, Centipedes, Dinosaurs, and tribals.
Now its time to learn about the planes.
Levels 46-65
Plane of Nightmare off Plane of Tranquility:
Kite the Treeants, the Crows, and Spiders near graveyard zoneout, far left of zone kite the 3 to 4 treeants pulling each back to the graveyard area.
Plane of Mischief off Great Divide:
Kite the skunks, mushroom men, and bees, be careful though there is one named Bee that will spawn near the castle entrance that summons, other than that, everything in zone is pretty much kiteable.
Plane of Justice off Plane of Tranquility:
You can kite the guards, and anything in the cells on first level, also the cells on lower level basement. Although this may be a bit harder to do, it is possible using the right strategy.
Plane of Disease off of Plane of Tranquility:
Anything in zone basically, although stay away from the named ogre and you should be fine.
Plane of Fire off Plane of Tranquility:
In this zone the most fun and best mobs in the world are at the tables. Using the right spell combos and kiting techniques, this is one place you will not want to drag yourself away from. The AA exp here is outrageous, as well as the regular exp. Kiting the guards here is fun and a unique experience.
Sanctus Seru off Dawnshroud Peaks, Merus Seru:
Kill the guards at the entrance and in the hallways, although this will lower factions with them this may not be a logical choice if you plan to come raid Seru Himself with a guild, but if you don’t mind the loss of faction, well then this is the place to be.
Griegs end off Dawn Shroud Peaks:
Very popular place to come and hang out for Experience, although not much drops in the way of loot here the Exp is quite nice.
Now if you have the new expansion for Omens of War, or Dragons of Norath these zones should be quite suitable to play in.
Levels 65-70
Nobles Causeway off Dranik Scar:
At the zone in Gulley you can kite the murkgliders up and down the valley area with no problems. Also you can head to the Wall of Slaughter side of zone and do the same at that zone in. Be very careful of the name murkglider it has 3 to 4 pups that do its bidding of killing, and can summon and is very difficult to kill solo, although it can be done with difficulty and if you use the right strategy it is possible to kill it. Also you can kill the dragorn guards on the top of the hill to the left of the gulley as well.
Harbringers Spires off Dranik Scar:
You can kite the dragorn and the discordlings although they are very social using the Feign Death method of snare run and Feign, pulling here is not that difficult.
Now for the Dragons of Norath Expansion: If you have or can obtain this expansion, I recommend doing so. A few of the zones in here are very nicely put together and are very kiteable.
Lavaspinners Lair off Lavastorm Mountains:
You can kite virtually everything in this zone, although, if you do the quest given by Quest Givers in Lavastorm you will gain Faction with them, and get rewards for the D.o.N. Cultural armor, If you decide to do it. The Exp here is kind of slow but if you plan on working those Alternate Advancement ability AA’s then this is good. I have myself been able to get about 1 to 2 % exp per kill here, and depending on how much time you plan on spending here and the speed at which you kill, it is possible to get several AA’s in about 4 hours.
Stillmoon Temple:
You can kite virtually everything in this zone, although, if you do the quest given by Quest Givers in Lavastorm you will gain Faction with them, and get rewards for the D.o.N. Cultural armor, If you decide to do it. The Exp here is kind of slow but if you plan on working those Alternate Advancement ability AA’s then this is good. I have myself been able to get about 1 to 2 % exp per kill here, and depending on how much time you plan on spending here and the speed at which you kill, it is possible to get several AA’s in about 4 hours.
The Accursed Nest:
You can kite virtually everything in this zone, although, if you do the quest given by Quest Givers in Lavastorm you will gain Faction with them, and get rewards for the D.o.N. Cultural armor, If you decide to do it.
Ok now you know the best zones and methods on how to get yourself to level 70 now go out and have fun. My motto Kill Kill Kill Kill!!!! And have tons of fun doing it.
