~Profession Skills~

Facts
– Profession skills are only available to any characters above level 30.

– You can only learn max two skills at a time.

– There is 5 different skill available.

  • Herb Collecting (Herbalism)
  • Mining
  • Equipment forging
  • Jewel Forging
  • Alchemy

– However,

  • To learn Alchemy it requires Herb Collecting Skill
  • To learn Equip Forging it requires Mining Skill
  • To learn Jewel Forging it requires Mining Skill

– In other words, you are only allowed to choose one of these combinations:

  • Herb Collecting + Alchemy
  • Mining + Equip Forging
  • Mining + Jewel Forging

– Max level for each skills: 10

How to learn profession skill?
– To learn profession skill, you need to enter into a special map. To get there, every major town has a special portal that looks like this:

Portal (left side) to Ardentmill town (right side)

To select your profession skills, you need to speak to the Chief NPC, Grant.

Note: You might need to complete a quest (The-lightbulb-on-your-head quest) by just talking to the chief NPCs before you learn the profession skills.

How to level up/forget your profession skill?
– Each profession skills has its own profession skill NPC:

  • Master of Collecting (Herbalism): Saffron
  • Master of Alchemy: Ally
  • Master of Mining: Cole
  • Master of Blacksmithing (Equipment production): Gere
  • Master of Jewel Crafting (Accessory production): Intaglio

From left to right: Saffron, Ally, Cole, Gere, Intaglio

– Talk to respective NPCs and there will be 2 options given:

  • Increase Profession skill level.
  • Forget the profession skill.

– To level up the profession skill, you are required to max your EXP of the respective profession skill first before approaching to the NPCs. Then you are needed to pay a certain amount of mesos to level up.
Note: There will be a notice in the chat box to inform you if your skill EXP is maxed.

– The amount of EXP needed to level up from:

  • Level 1 to 2: 500
  • Level 2 to 3: 1200
  • Level 3 to 4: 2100
  • Level 4 to 5: 3200
  • Level 5 to 6: 4500
  • Level 6 to 7: 6000
  • Level 7 to 8: 7700
  • Level 8 to 9: 9600
  • Level 9 to 10: 11700

– To forget the profession skill, but you will lose all your experience from that skill and will need to start from scratch if you want to re-learn the skill.

Fatigue System
– Yes, this system in the profession skill will annoy you since there will be a given limit on the usage of profession skills.

Max fatigue is 100. The amount of fatigue collected will be given later in each profession skill. Once your fatigue is maxed, you are not allowed to use any of the profession system whatsoever.
Note: 2 different profession skills will share the same fatigue bar!!

-Each skill used will obtain a certain amount of fatigue:

Quote:
Mining a mineral/Refining ores – 1 Fatigue
Collecting a herb/Making oil – 1 Fatigue
Creating through Alchemy – 3 Fatigue
Creating through Equipment/Jewel Forging – 5 Fatigue

– There are 4 ways to reduce the fatigue:

  • Via fatigue potion purchased from merchant NPC in Meisterville
Energy Drink – Red Moo. Decrease fatigue by 5. Cost: 300,000 mesos (GMS)
Energy Drink – Vita-C. Decrease fatigue by 10. Cost: 1,000,000 mesos (GMS)
Note: You can buy as many fatigue potions as you want, however you are only allowed to use 3 fatigue potions per day.
  • Fatigue will automatically decrease by 5 per hour, regardless of whether you’re online or not.
  • Fatigue will reset to 0 every midnight.
  • Fatigue Reset Coupon (Purchased via Cash Shop), which change into Fatigue Reset Drink that reset automatically to 0 upon used.

Skill Experience

Quote:
Mining and Herbalism – Processing (Refining ores or extracting oils) – 20 EXP
Mining and Herbalism – Collecting (Mining and collecting plants) – 20 EXP
Alchemy – 60 EXP
Jewel Crafting and Blacksmithing – 100 EXP

You gain 5% more EXP when you create an item per level difference, when the item’s recommended level is higher and you get 5% less EXP per level difference when the item’s recommended skill level is lower.

~Introduction to Mining & Herbalism Skill~

Before we can get started on explaining these 2 skills, here are some facts you should keep in mind first.

Facts #1
Rocks and flowers can be found in almost every level 30 and above training area, including World Tour area as well.

Level 30-99 Training Area
Rocks and flowers are spawned depends on the last digit of the monster’s level spawned in that area.
For example: 30 -> 0, 35 -> 5, 39 -> 9, 89 -> 9…

Code:
Digit Color
 0,1 Silver & Magenta
 2,3 Blue & Brown
 4,5 Emerald & Gold
 6,7 Aquamarine & Red
 8,9 Black & Purple

If there are multiple monsters in the map, rocks and flowers will spawn based on difference in max and min of monster’s level.
For example, in a map spawning level 81 and 84 monsters, the rocks and flowers that are spawned are: Silver & Magenta (from lvl 81 monsters), Emerald & Gold (from lvl 84 monsters) and Blue & Brown because it’s in between.

Level 100-200 Training Areas
All these maps spawn rocks and flowers, regardless of level:
– Emerald & Gold
– Aquamarine & Red
– Black & Purple

Training areas that will not spawn any rocks/flowers (Incomplete)
– El Nath: Ice Valley II
– El Nath: The Passage
– El Nath: The Cave of Trial I – III
– Aquaroad Dungeon (except Pianus Cave)
– Korean Folk Town: A Small Well
– Korean Folk Town: Around the Pond
– Between Sleepywood: Sunless Area and Drake Cave: Cave Exit

Facts #2
Rocks and flowers can also be found in the Cole’s Secret Mine and Saffron’s Secret Herb Patch respectively, both located at the bottom right side of Meisterville town.

However, you need to purchase a pass from the merchant. There are 2 levels you can choose, beginner or intermediate level. Once you enter, there will be a 10 minutes time limit for you to mine/farm. You can only enter this portal once a day.

  • Novice Secret Mine/Herb Patch Ticket (Cost: 500 mesos) (Only spawn Silver & Magenta rocks and flowers)
  • Intermediate Secret Mine/Herb Patch Ticket (Cost: 5,000 mesos) (Only spawn Blue & Brown rocks and flowers)

Note: Do not confuse about entering this portal for free. You are only allowed to enter this portal for free is because your normal mining/herbalism quest is activated. In there, you’ll get tutorial Faded Silver Ore/Clary Sage (which only serves as quest items) every time you mine in that area.

~Mining Skill~

Introduction
Once you learn the mining skill, you will have the following abilities:

  • Extract valuable ores of minerals, jewels and crystals from rocks (which will be explained where to find them)
  • Refine the ores, which uses fewer ores to refine than conventional methods of refinement (which was refined via NPCs)

Equipments
Pickaxes

Molds
You can purchase these from merchant NPC, Nack in Meisterville town

Note: Do not hold down ‘NPC Chat’ button or move while mining is in process. Otherwise, your mining is canceled.

3. Wait until the bar is reached to the end. The rock disappeared and you can proceed to collect the ores.
Tips: If the rock drops ore, the character emotion will automatically change to happy, otherwise will change to sad.

~Profession Window (Part 1)~

How To View Your Profession Window
There are 2 ways.
One is by double-clicking your own character, but that only shows the personality traits.

Another way is by using hotkey for Profession Window/UI. With this, you can see the full detail of your profession skills and personality traits.
Tips: For your convenience, do configure your keyboard for Profession Window

Note: Based on GMS translation

Introduction on Profession Section
On the left side of the picture as shown, there will be

  • Fatigue bar
  • Primary profession skill (Mining/Herbalism), equipment used and EXP gauge
  • Secondary profession skill (Creator/Jewelist/Alchemist) and EXP gauge
  • Tips (which is absurdly useless compared to this guide )

Reminder: Two different profession skills will share the same fatigue bar!!

Introduction on Personality Section
On the right side of the picture is the Personality section, that shows your personality stats.

There will be 6 different traits:

  • Charisma (KMS)/Ambition (GMS)
  • Sense (KMS)/Empathy (GMS)
  • Insight
  • Will (KMS)/Willpower (GMS)
  • Craft (KMS)/Diligence (GMS)
  • Charm

Each personality stat will have different ways to obtain and give out different permanent buffs/effects.

However, generally, all traits EXP can be obtained via normal quests.
Please refer to: http://www.southperry.net/showthread.php?t=45032 to see the list of quests and the EXP for certain traits.

Maximum level for each stat: 100

Note: The daily Personality Stat EXP is capped at 500 for each stats!!

At the bottom right side is the Personality window. From here, whenever one of your stat is leveled up, then one of the respective blue circle will move slowly towards the stats.

You can also move the cursor to each traits to see what are the permanent effects/buffs that you’ll obtain.
