Dragon Oath Stall and Peddling Guide

Dragon Oath Stall and Peddling Guide by LadyEnfinity

Hello everyone!

After another morning poll the results are in. You all said you wanted to see a guide on peddling/stalls, so here it is. I hope you find this information useful. As usual, if you have additional information you’d like to see added to this guide, please feel free to respond or send me a private message. If this guide was helpful to you – let me know!

Purpose of this guide:
To help new and experienced players with the typical functions available with the Peddle feature.

What exactly is Peddling?
Peddling is a very handy way to sell your items (weapons, food, pets, etc.) to other players in the game. This is also called opening a “stall” or “booth”.
The store is your own personal little shop that other players can visit, purchase items and leave questions/feedback in a dedicated pane.

Why is this a good feature?
This is a fantastic feature – don’t down sell it! Hehe. The reason this is a helpful feature is because you will be able to take part in the game’s economy. You can also make a larger profit off of your items. Merchants are great for selling when it comes to junk, but if you get an item that another player can use – this is the best route.

So, you think you can sell?
Dandy – that sounds like a great feature, how do I use it? I’m glad you asked.. aren’t I always?
First, you need to make sure you meet the requirements to use the feature.
The following requirements need to be met in order for you to open your own stall:

  • You cannot open a stall with your pet summoned.
  • You cannot open a stall while you are mounted.
  • You must be at least level 15 to open a stall.

You may cry out, “Wait! My pet is my world! Really!… Actually, I just don’t know how to dismiss it.”
Not a problem! By dismissing your pet, I do *NOT* mean freeing it. In game, it is called “Rest”. This simply puts your pet away.. we’ll pretend it went to pet day care To do this, simply hit “X” or go through your character screen and click on the “Pet” tab. Select your pet in the list and click on “Rest”.
To dismount, in case you just got it and haven’t done anything else before reading this post, just click on the mount button again and it will cancel the mount, leaving you on ground level to open your stall.

Great! Now you’re ready to open your Peddle Place, right? Not really. There’s one more thing you need to keep in mind before you try to open your stall. Trust me – if you don’t take this into account, you’ll be clicking in a million areas and pretty much killing your mouse.
There are specific areas in town where you can open your stall.
For example, most people like to open their shops in So Zhou near the main Teleport area. This is fine, but if it’s too crowed for you it is possible to open one in another town. I’ve also noticed that you can’t really start peddling in the middle of the street.
I know of two other great spots for selling. One is located in Lou Yang – right where you teleport into town. The other is located in Lou Yang, as well, near the second teleport spot. The spot is right between the teleport NPC and the “Pet” area, with the NPC that teleports to Pet Island.

I would honestly suggest that you travel to So Zhou and take a look at the shops there. You’ll get an idea of the placement required to open a shop.

Once you have a good idea of placement, lets talk about opening your stall.

To open your stall, right click on your avatar/portrait in the upper left-hand corner of the game interface.

When you launch the peddle feature, this is what it looks like, by default:

(This is just an example from a character I’m not playing.)

Now, as you can see there are 3 windows that open by default. Here’s a little explanation regarding each pane:
The “Sell” pane:
The most important and contains the most options. As you can see, the “Item” tab opens by default. By default, this tab is also set to the initial page. However, you can click on the “Pet” tab and choose “Set to initial page” if you wish for other players to view the pets you have for sale when they open your stall.
You can also see in this pane that the default title for your stall is “Groceries Stall” – Now, this is acceptable, but it really isn’t helpful for players that are walking by. They want to see something that entices them to open your store. Be creative, because the title only allows 12 characters/letters.
In order to set your title, you must enter the text you desire and click on the “Change” button to the left of the text field.

The “Information” button located at the bottom of the Sell tab will open and close the “Stall Information” pane. This comes in handy if you want to refresh the “Stall Information” page to check for player comments, or purchase records.

The “Quit” button will give you the option to close your stall.

The “Stall Information” Pane:
I really like this pane, it’s very.. informative!
In this pane you can enter a personal message that will appear when other players open your stall. Note: You can add smiley faces here, just like you would in normal chat. Just make sure that your cursor is active in the chat by clicking on “Change” and then use the smilies from the chat pane. This is a little different, you may have up to 39 characters/letters/numbers in this section. When you’re done with your message, click on “issue”.

The “Empty” button will remove all transaction records and chats that have been saved to this pane by yourself or other players.
This pane will record each purchase that has been made by players visiting your stall and can also be used for players to submit messages or questions to the seller.
Also, you can respond to the messages that are left in this pane. Type the message you wish to leave in the chat area at the bottom of the pane and click on “Send”. It seems to be that you need to refresh this pane to see any changes. So, if you’re keeping all the windows open, you may want to check periodically to see if anyone has left you a message. You can do this, and view other player stalls by clicking on the stall title over the character’s head.

Here’s an image so you can get an idea of what this will look like with messages:

The “Pet list” pane:

This pane will allow you to add a pet to your stall. This way you can sell your young, rare, special and if you want, your wild pets.
To do this, select the pet you want to add in the list and click on “Select”. A little window will pop up after doing so. Enter the amount that you wish to charge for the pet. The pet information can be viewed by yourself and other players when the pet listed in the “Sell” pane is right-clicked. That’s right, they get all the information (stats, growth rate, etc.).

Some additional information:
Ever seen someone with that special sparkly border on their stall display? You can purchase the items that add this feature from Lily White, the Pet Seller located in Dali (264 125). To receive the item, click on “Let’s Peddle”. She will explain that you will need to be level 30 or above to use the “Sign Board”. These boards will give your stall a different effect for 24 hours.

Stacked items can be a little difficult to display and I’ve spoken with a couple of players that have sold stacks for incredibly low prices, due to the fact that it the stall does not sell them individually. So, make sure you have enough room in your inventory and split the stacks before you put the items in your stall to sell. To do this, open your inventory, select “Split” and enter the amount you’d like to split. Then, you can click and drag the amount you wish to sell into the “Sell” pane.

Well, that’s it for now! I hope this information has been helpful.
Have a wonderful day in Dragon Oath and beyond!
