Mabinogi Spirit Weapon Feeding Guide
Mabinogi Spirit Weapon Feeding Guide by skybon
Lately, I’ve been getting a lot of questions about ego feeding. What do you feed your ego? What to do? When’s the right time?
Some of you might say, “well, there’s wiki“. All I can say is that, yes, it answers your what and how. In this topic, I’ll be posting what “specifics” and why these “specifics,” and not other things?
The following content may be fully biased and are based from my own experiences plus some information at wiki combined. It may not be your ideal way because this is my way.
Quick guide on learning what to feed to obtain the fastest speed when feeding your ego of the certain stat. I can explain it thoroughly, but I don’t feel like it; plus, just follow this guide and trust me. It’s much faster than diamonds and cost efficient.
First and foremost rule, only feed it with items between 1~999gold. For the fastest efficiency, feed it the most expensive but not more than base price 1000.
Second of all, feed your ego at stage 1~4 Unhappy until it reaches Fine. Stop at Fine.
Why 1~999gold and Why “For the fastest efficiency, feed it the most expensive but not more than base price 1000.”?
There’s a technical answer for this part. I can explain this to you; if you want to know the answer, please check my first reply in this thread…
Base Price is the price of an item at an NPC with no discounts – Filia discounts or Wednesday discounts. (e.g. A lute (normally 1000 gold) is being sold for 900gold at Filia if you’re allied at Elves; however, it does not count as an item for 1~999gold item).
It is efficient to buy things at Filia because they have discounts there. Not to worry, it won’t decrease the experience your ego would receive just because the item is discounted; it will still receive the same exp at a cheaper value compared to other shops.
Detailed explanation at the bottom of this first post, under “P.S.”
Also note, based on my experiences and a few statistics, it’s better to have your STR level 35 before focusing on other stats. Why? Because if you freakin’ don’t have level 35 STR, you’re better off using upgraded/enchanted weapon which has almost the same damage as a level 30 STR one. However, I suggest maxing out STR first. After STR maxed, I suggest Will for durability increase and a minor increase for max damage; then, Luck for more critical and also a minor increase for max damage.
For your convenience, I posted here the Specific Weapon Class and Gender and the best food to give for your ego. I will also include some Filia items that could save some bit of your pocket.

To Start Off:
——————————————————————————————————————–
A few Notes:
As much as possible feed items that cost 800g~900g.
The best ones are Ladles, Cooking Knife, Sandals, Sasha Robes, Cores’ Thief Gloves, and different number Signs.
Wands aren’t complete due to lack of information, but please try out ^these items^ for your own.
You will see some “or”s in my recommendation; that’s because i want to list out an item from Filia too; which might be a good deal for other people even though it’s not as fast as the other one which can’t be bought at Filia.
For my own convenience regarding the number signs, which are limited sales from Price, I put M for Monday, T for Tuesday, et cetera.

P.S. Fun Fact
Oh and, additional information regarding the discount at Filia. There seems to be a weird relation in there or something… Sky’s theory: the more expensive the item, the more discount it gets.
For example, Sasha Robe and Lute at Filia.
Sasha Robe’s base price at Filia (well, it’s the only place where it’s sold) is 990g.
Lute’s base price at Filia is 1,000g.
However, when we include the discount price (if you’re allied), here’s the prices:
Sasha Robe discounted price is 940g.
Lute discounted price is 900g.
You’ll notice that Sasha Robe has a 50g discount while Lute has a 100g discount. Their base price difference is just 10g though.
See a difference? Well, even though knowing this, I’d still suggest you buy items that does not exceed 1,000g in base price.
A detailed explanation why “1~999gold” item and why “For the fastest efficiency, feed it the most expensive but not more than base price 1000.”
First thing’s first. Here’s general knowledge. Whenever the Ego diminishes the appetite (wants to chat / wants an item), it loses a “100%” value on its hunger.
Here’s another basic knowledge.
1g~999g base price items restore back 20% value on its appetite.
40% for 1,000g~1,999g.
60% for 2,000g~2,999g.
80% for 3,000g~3,999g.
100% for 4,000g and above.
Here’s an observatory knowledge from Sky.
The more expensive the item, the lower EXP:Gold Ratio. Meaning, the higher the price, the less the EXP.
(e.g.): An item costs 400g base price gives 50EXP on lvl30 STR. Another item costs 800g base price gives 80EXP on lvl30 STR.
The relation for the cheaper item is 400g:50EXP -> 8g:1EXP. Meaning, for every 8 gold, you gain 1 EXP.
The relation for the more expensive item is 800g:80EXP -> 10g:1EXP. Meaning, for every 10 gold, you gain 1 EXP.
Now you ask, Can’t we just feed them with, like, 100g items?
Yes, you can. However, the time it requires to afk just to level up once on a stat dramatically increases. Instead of just ego feeding for a total of 100 hours with the more expensive ones, you’ll need to ego feed for a total of maybe 200 hours.
Then, you’ll ask, Okay, I get your point about feeding it with more expensive items in relation to the time it requires. But why did you say, “for the fastest efficiency, feed it the most expensive but not more than base price 1000?”
Why not? Jk jk. But seriously, just as I’ve pointed out above, ego gets hungry and loses 100% appetite.
How do you fill it back up? With 5 pieces of 1~999g items, or with 2 pieces of 1,000~1,999 items and 1 piece of 1~999g item?
Then, apply also the rule as I’ve stated before, “the higher the price, the less the EXP.” 2 pieces of 900g item, most likely, will give higher exp than 1 piece of a 1,900g item.
And lastly, apply my last argument – time. Instead of feeding 5 pieces of 600g item, feed it with 5 pieces of 900g items. Time spent on ego feeding to level up a stat will most likely reduced by one-fourth, if not, one-third.
There’s a question raised by my guildmate regarding Filia discount prices – relation to – EXP gives, I’d like to prove a bit of why.
cookienoob:just out of curiousity, aren’t the ego food sold in filia supposedly give you slightly less exp than more expensive ones in places like dunbarton, emain, etc… for example a short bow from meles would give less exp than the one from nerys or osla.
cookienoob:actually i think it does but not much of a difference. for example i just tried this. a short bow that cost cheaper from meles gave me 14 social and 73 str. a regular priced one from nicca gave me 15 social and 81 str. so yea barely any difference.
Actually their base price is different. You’ll notice there’s a difference. E.g. in Elen (360g base price) and in Osla (500g base price). I think you’ve confused that from the discount of Filia.
Uhm.. let’s see… If you want to know the base price of items at Filia, you can go and try seeing their price when you’re not allied to them (regular price).
The discount at Filia is like the Wednesday discounts. They don’t change the base price of the item. However, when there’s a difference between different NPCs (like Elen-Osla thing i said up there), the experience will change.
P.S.
I’ve tested your observation cookie, and it seems like I was right.
Given the example Sasha Robe. It costs 990g on base price (I used a non-allied account to buy the Sasha Robe). But then, it also costs 940g on discounted Filia price.
I fed both the Sasha Robe I bought at discounted price and base price. Both of them gave 29 social and 100 Luck.
Therefore, it’s still better buying at Filia price because you’re paying a little bit cheaper than the real price, and still get the same experience.
I have found two ways to help offset the costs to feed an ego. Fishing helps a little but should be left to auto fish over night. Using metallurgy u can collect gems, which should only be used when Ur wep is unhappy, u Wil collect various ores in the process. Using metal conversion and blacksmithing u can make items to feed Ur ego with. It helped me save a lot of money. If u want help find azurala on ruari. I will help u make items if u need.
