Introduction to Thief
The classes in brown are hidden classes. Hidden classes, 3rd job and 4th job are currently unavailable.
Thief is a physical melee character. But unlike warrior, thief relies more on evasion instead of defense. Their attack speed is also much faster than warrior (partly due to their passive double attack). Thief can equip shield but there is only a level 4 shield. There is no penalty for equipping a shield, so equip it if you can find one. The most important skill for thief is free throw and aerial frenzy. Among all the attack skill of thief, only violent blow is useful. Devilstorm Dart has only 1 main uses: to chain your combo. Since thief lacks range, it is harder to maintain your combo in instances when mob are far apart. That is where devilstorm dart comees into play. Cutdown is also an important skill for thief and it is very easy to activate (though the aoe is quite small). The main uses of cutdown is for chaining with aerial frenzy. When you missed your aerial frenzy on the mob, or when ur aerial frenzy doesn’t have enough damage, activate cutdown after the mob has landed for a while and the mob will be relaunched. It takes abt 0.5 sec after a mob is KD before you can activate cutdown if the mob was in the air. You can activate your aerial frenzy > cutdown combo immediately since aerial frenzy will do extra spin after aerial frenzy has reached it’s max hit or after u stop pressing X. In PvP, thief’s featured skill is burrow.

Thief
Double Attack
Mastery Level: 10
Skill Points: 15
Required Level: 1
Prerequisites: None
Type: Passive
Description: 92% chance to strike a 2nd time for 60% damage on your 2nd and 4th hit on a mob.
This isn’t very useful but it is still worth spending 10 points on it. Though the chance of activation is around 50+% at level 1, it is good enough.
In summary, get 1 level of double attack and leave it alone.
Pickpocket
Mastery Level: 10
Skill Points: 15
Required Level: 1
Prerequisites: None
Type: Passive
Description: 12% chance at level 1 to increase the amount of coins dropped when killing monsters. (30% chance for activation at max)
Quite a useless skill since the skill point cost is too high.
In summary, don’t get this skill since it is too expensive skill point wise.
Re-launch
Mastery Level: 1
Skill Points: 10
Required Level: 1
Prerequisites: None
Type: Passive
Description: Launch up to 5 KD enemies
Activates by pressing; down + attack, down + attack, up + attack
This skill isn’t very useful since cutdown does the same thing and is easier to activate.
In summary, skip it since cutdown does the same thing and is easier to activate.
Free Throw
Mastery Level: 1
Skill Points: 10
Required Level: 1
Prerequisites: None
Type: Passive
Description: Launches up to 5 targets on the 3rd hit.
Activates by pressing; attack, attack, up + attack
Passive launch skill that cost only 10 skill points. Nothing much to comment about except: pump it!
In summary, get it since it is a passive launcher skill.
Cutdown
Mastery Level: 1
Skill Points: 10
Required Level: ?
Prerequisites: None
Type: Passive
Description: Jump down and launch up to 5 KD enemies
Activates by pressing; down + attack [only possible in air]
The main uses of cutdown is for chaining with aerial frenzy. When you missed your aerial frenzy on the mob, or when ur aerial frenzy doesn’t have enough damage, activate cutdown after the mob has landed for a while and the mob will be relaunched. It takes abt 0.5 sec after a mob is KD before you can activate cutdown if the mob was in the air. You can activate your aerial frenzy > cutdown combo immediately after aerial frenzy has ended since aerial frenzy will do extra spin after aerial frenzy has reached it’s max hit or after u stop pressing X.
In summary, get it since it cost only 10 points.
Aerial Frenzy
Mastery Level: 1
Skill Points: 10
Required Level: 1
Prerequisites: None
Type: Passive
Description: Allows you to attack continously in air
Activates by pressing; attack [only possible in air]
Aerial frenzy can only do a maximum of like 13 to 15 hits. This skill is extremely important!! Just like how air combo is a main skill for archer, aerial frenzy is thief’s main skill.
In summary, get this skill!!! It is too important.
Somersault Kick
Mastery Level: 5
Skill Points: 20
Required Level: 20
Prerequisites: None
Type: Active (Cool down: 5 sec) (30 MP per, +5 more MP per skill level)
Description: A crescent kick that launches standing or hit aerial targets. +80 attack at level 5
You get a level of somersault kick automatically at level 1 automatically. Please note that you still spent 20 skill points for this skill which is why you start with 0 skill points at level 1. Quite a useless skill since this skill has an extremely small aoe hence it is very easy to miss. Since it’s main uses is for launching, free throw works much better in that area.
In summary, keep it at level 1 to unlock ambush so that you will be able to get Violent Blow.
Ambush
Mastery Level: 5
Skill Points: 20
Required Level: 3
Prerequisites: Somersault Kick level 1
Type: Active (Cool down: 3 sec) (60 MP per use at level 5)
Description: Launch up to 5 enemies into the air. + 90 attack
Same as somersault kick, quite a useless skill since this skill has an extremely small aoe hence it is very easy to miss. Since it’s main uses is for launching, free throw works much better in that area.
In summary, get 2 levels of ambush to unlock violent blow.
Violent Blow
Mastery Level: 10
Skill Points: 30
Required Level: 10
Prerequisites: Ambush level 2
Type: Active (Cool down: 5 sec) (80 MP per use at level 10)
Description: 5 hit combo that adds 75 atk (30 atk at level 1).
Violent blow damage is very high, making it the main skill for killing bosses. It’s main downside is the small aoe (similar to ambush and somersault kick) but apart from that disadvantage, if the user got hit while doing their 5 hit combo with violent blow, the skill would be stopped. Keep it at level 3 if you are going for jester to unlock skill. Keep it at level 1 if you are going for assassin.
In summary, keep it at level 3 if you are going for jester to unlock upper screwdriver. Keep it at level 1 if you are going for assassin.
Venom
Mastery Level: 5
Skill Points: 20
Required Level: 1
Prerequisites: None
Type: Active (Cool down: 5 sec) (30 MP per use at level 5) (Duration: 22 secs at level 5)
Description: Release a poison cloud that affects up to 5 enemies. Victims lose 50 HP for the duration of the poison. (not sure if this damage is dealt per sec, 2 sec or whatever)
This is a good skill for PvP, but leave it at level 3 if you are going for assassin. If you are heading towards jester, it doesn’t hurt if you skip it
In summary, this is a good skill for PvP, but leave it at level 3 if you are going for assassin. If you are heading towards jester, it doesn’t hurt if you skip it
Rocket Punch!
Mastery Level: 10
Skill Points: 20
Required Level: 1
Prerequisites: None
Type: Active (Cool down: 5 sec) (43 MP per use at level 10)
Description: Fire a boxing glove dealing +150 attack and 60% chance for a 2 sec stun at level 10.
Rocket punch is very good for PvP or MvP. You need this skill at level 3 to unlock devilstorm dart.
In summary, great for PvP or MvP and it unlocks devilstorm dart. Pump it to level 3.
Devilstorm Dart
Mastery Level: 10
Skill Points: 30
Required Level: 2
Prerequisites: Rocket Punch! level 3
Type: Active (Cool down: 10 sec) (77 MP per use at level 10)
Description: No idea how much damage to deals.
The damage for devilstorm dart is low, but it travels quite fast and is range, making it useful for bridging your combo when mobs are too far apart. It also unlocks assassin’s throwing dagger or jester’s sonic boom.
In summary, get it to level 2 if you want to get throwing dagger or sonic boom (2nd job skill). Keep it at level 1 if you are skipping sonic boom.
Burrow
Mastery Level: 5
Skill Points: 30
Required Level: 1
Prerequisites: None
Type: Toggle (Cool down: 1 sec) (30 MP per use at level 5)
Description: Burrow into the ground. Uses 3 mp every 3 sec. Use the skill again to surface.
An extremely good skill for PvP. Burrow is thief’s featured skill in PvP. Level 1 burrow is enough though for normal uses, but you need level 3 burrow if you want to get assassin’s shadow walk. Please note that a shadow is cast on your position, so you are not entirely invisible. Another thing to note while using burrow: never talk in all chat since a bubble is created above you, making it easier to notice your shadow. Burrow has 0 sec casting time and when the user is in burrow state, they are invunerable to AOE/attacks. This applies to all players, monster and even bosses. But please note that Lavalon’s and most likely all other island boss attacks can hit you with their AOE. But either way, no one can detect you in burrow mode and you can dump all aggro you had attracted (but when you are in a party, you can still get hit by lavalon since his atk hits randomly if another player is inside. This invunerable status makes burrow great for PvE or bossing (doesn’t applies to lavalon when you are in a party though, reason is stated above).
In summary, get it to level 3 to unlock assassin’s shadow walk. Leave it at level 1 if you are going for Jester.
Exit
Mastery Level: 1
Skill Points: 40
Required Level: 1
Prerequisites: Burrow level 2
Type: Toggle (Cool down: 60 sec) (10 MP per use)
Description: Hide in a ramen box and enter a state of invunerability for 5 secs.
Exit is like the burrow skill but you are able to move though only for a short duration. This is quite a useless skill since burrow is enough for hiding/entering invunerability. Apart from that, exit has a crazy cool down time. But if you have points, it doesn’t hurt to get 1 level of exit (the mastery level is 1 anyway).
In summary, get it only if you have points to spare.
Jester
Go for Jester if you prefer a class with more flashy skill. Jester has lots of attack skill, making it great for PvE. In PvP, Jester isn’t as useful as Assassin since they don’t have shadow walk.
Claw Mastery
Mastery Level: 10
Skill Points Required: 20
Skill Points Required: 20
Required Level: 20
Required Weapon: Claw
Prerequisites: None
Type: Passive
Description: Passively increase claw damage by 21 at level 10.
Description: Passively increase claw damage by 21 at level 10.
Max this skill since it is a passive damage booster.
In summary, max it since it is a passive damage booster.
Final Decision
Mastery Level: 10
Skill Points: 30
Required Level: 30
Prerequisites: Violent Blow level 2
Type: Active (Cool down: 5 sec) (85 MP per use at level 10)
Description: A 5 hit spinning attack that hits ground or KD targets. + 86 attack at level 10.
Final decision has all the cons of violent blow – skill breaks when user got hit and a small aoe. But it deals much higher damage than violent blow.
In summary, get it to level 2 to unlock judge dread and swift attack.
Judge Dread
Mastery Level: 5
Skill Points: 20
Required Level: 13
Prerequisites: Final Decision level 2
Type: Active (Cool down: 6 sec) (70 MP per use at level 10)
Description: Hits up to 5 airborne enemies and slam them onto ground. + 180 attack at level 5.
Judge Dread is a one hit aerial attack that knocks down airborn targets. Damage isn’t that great, hence it is best not to waste skill points on it. [Credits to apollo for this skill information]
In summary, aerial frenzy does a better job for aerial attack, dun pump judge dread.
Upper Screw Driver
Mastery Level: 5
Skill Points: 25
Required Level: 25
Prerequisites: Violent Blow level 3
Type: Active (Cool down: 5 sec) (100 MP per use at level 5)
Description: A swift uppercut that can hit standing or airborne enemies for 140 attack at level 5.
Upper screw driver is an extremely good damaging skill. The skill is also much easier to cast as compared to violent blow and etc. since it hits targets both the front and back of the user. But it still has the main disadvantage of violent blow and final decision – skill breaks when user got hit.
In summary, great damaging skill for PvE, MvP and PvP.
Swift Attack
Mastery Level: 10
Skill Points: 30
Required Level: 30
Prerequisites: Final Decision level 2, Upper Screwdriver.
Type: Active (Cool down: 8 sec) ( MP per use)
Description: Move quickly and attack up to 5 random enemies. + 240 attack
Swift Attack – This is effectively a ranged attack that targets 5 random enemies. The user essentially teleports to 1 random enemy, slashes with claws, then teleports to the next enemy and so on. When the skill is over, you teleport back to the spot where you originally cast the spell. As the name suggests, it is a very quick attack, and damage is pretty high. More importantly it also knocks down enemies. I’ve found this skill to be incredibly useful in pvp duels since this skill will hit the opponent and knock them down as long as they are within a certain radius (range is actually quite large). You do not have to line up for the attack since you teleport next to the enemy, whereas most opponents need to be horizontally aligned to land an attack on you. In other words, you can this skill to hit and knock down (disable) opponents in situations where they can’t hit you. [Credits to apollo for this skill information]
In summary, great for PvP and has good damage.
Sonic Boom
Mastery Level: 10
Skill Points: 30
Required Level: 20
Prerequisites: Devilstorm Dart level 2
Type: Active (Cool down: 3 sec) (85 MP per use at level 10)
Description: Fires a boomerang that hits up to 5 enemies in a straight line. +185 atk at level 10.
Please note that sonic boom stops upon hitting it’s 1st target (but it has some splashes, so it will still damage those around the target). Sonic boom has a slow casting time too (you have to turn 1 round before you can throw your boomerang…) but since it only has a cooldown of 3 sec, it is still quite useful for bridging your combo when mobs are too far apart and devilstorm dart is still cooling down.
In summary, great skill for bridging your combo when mobs are too far apart and devilstorm dart is still cooling down.
ESP
Mastery Level: 10
Skill Points: 30
Required Level: 20
Prerequisites: None
Type: Active (Cool down: 30 sec) (105 MP per use at level 10)
Description: Increases dodge rate by 50 at level 10. Duration: 33 sec at level 10.
Like Ranger or Hunter hallucination, ESP doesn’t seem to have an effect in Alpha I and II.
In summary, its bugged.
Assassin
Assassin uses katar and as it name suggests, it relies on stealth to fight. In PvE, Assassin is definitely a crappy class as compared to Jester due to the lack of AOE skill. Even though rolling stinger is a great AOE skill, the area of effect is too small.
Claw Blocking (please note that this skill works on katar only not claw)
Mastery Level: 10
Skill Points: 20
Required Level: 20
Required Weapon: Katar
Prerequisites: None
Description: 2.3% chance of blocking enemies attack with a katar
A useless skill since it only works against normal melee attack. All skill, magic or range attack bypass this skill.
In summary, don’t pump this crap skill.
Poison Crasher
Mastery Level: 5
Skill Points: 30
Required Level: 20
Prerequisites: Venom level 3
Type: Active (Cooldown: 80 sec) (120 MP per use at level 5)
Description: Coat your weapon with poison. Gains 120 atk and afflict enemies with poison status at level 5. Enemie’s hp is reduced by 50 periodically.
According to chinese source, poison crasher wasn’t working in their server. If it does work and the skill really does what it states (120 atk) this is definitely a good skill. The only downside would probably be the short duration of 40 secs even at level 5.
In summary, poison crasher is a great skill if it works and does what the description states.
Throwing Dagger
Mastery Level: 5
Skill Points: 25
Required Level: 20
Prerequisites: Devilstorm Dart Level 2
Type: Active (Cooldown: 3 sec) (70 MP per use at level 5)
Description: Throw a dagger at a single enemy. Causes knockdown effect. + 180 atk at level 5.
Throwing dagger is great for PvP and can be used in PvE too for bridging combo when mobs are too far apart.
In summary, get 1 level of throwing dagger for PvP.
Gimlet
Mastery Level: 10
Skill Points: 30
Required Level: 23
Prerequisites: Burrow Level 2
Type: Active (Cooldown: 1 sec) (30 MP per use)
Description: Only usable during burrow. Sends serrated blades screaming towards enemies in a line. + 140 atk
Not sure if it is really useful since gimlet was bugged in Alpha II and can be used even above ground making it too useful lol. Apart from that, it is hard to unburrow on some occassion during Alpha II due to some bug. So I can’t really tell if gimlet is useful.
In summary, no idea since it was bugged.
Shadow Walk
Mastery Level: 10
Skill Points: 30
Required Level: 25
Prerequisites: Burrow Level 3
Type: Toggle (50 MP per use)
Description: Turn invisible and move around at 90% movement speed.
Shadow walk is an extremely good skill and is the featured skill for assassin. Though shadow walk is a great skill, there isnt a need to max it since it doesn’t reduce much mana either even at level 1. But you will need to get shadow walk to level 3 to unlock shadow spring that in turn unlocks rolling stinger.
In summary, shadow walk is a great skill, but getting it to level 3 is enough to unlock shadow spring and rolling stinger.
Shadow Spring
Mastery Level: 5
Skill Points: 30
Required Level: 26
Prerequisites: Shadow Walk level 3
Type: Active (Cooldown: 10 sec) (62 MP per use)
Description: Disappear into your own shadow and attack as you rise from the nearest enemy’s silhouette.
This skill is good but it doesn’t seem to work everytime (might be cause it affects only immobile target). Therefore, keeping it at level 2 to unlock rolling stinger will do.
In summary, get it to level 2 to unlock rolling stinger since the skill seems bugged or it might simply just be that it is hard to activate.
Rolling Stinger
Mastery Level: 10
Skill Points: 30
Required Level: 27
Prerequisites: Shadow Spring Level 2
Type: Active (Cooldown: 10 sec) (150 MP per use at level 10)
Description: Do a spinning attack that hits up to 5 enemies with a 5 hit combo. + 215 ATK at level 10.
Rolling Stinger is the best AOE atk available for assassin. The only downside is the high skill point cost and long cooldown.
In summary, great skill, max it!
