What is Dragonica?
border=0

Dragonica is a 3D side-scrolling MMORPG and apart from utilizing 3D graphics, it also features 8-way movement. Most of Dragonica functions can be controlled by keyboard; you can talk to NPC, accept or refuse quest, or even for map selection when entering portals with multiple area. Other than moving/selling of items, changing your system options or selecting rooms/options for PvP, there isn’t a need to use your mouse. Dragonica is also a cash shop game hence it is free-to-play.

Stats
There are 4 stats in Dragonica, Strength, Intelligence, Agility and Health. They are also allocated automatically. There is nothing that can add/change stats atm.
Strength – Increases Physical attack
Intelligence – Increases Maximum Mana, Mana Regeneration, Magic Defense and Magic Attack
Agility – Increases Physical Defense, Critical Rate, Accuracy and Magic Defense
Health – Increases Maximum HP and HP Regeneration

Skill
All skills in Dragonica require more than 1 skill point to add but it is fixed (no skill point increase when the skill is at a higher level). For e.g. both level 1 and 7 bow mastery requires 15 skill points per level. 20 skill points is gained whenever player levels. Like in most MMO, active skill are usually attack skills. For e.g. double strike is an active skill and bird watching is an active buff. Passive skill can either unlock key combos or passively increase your ability. Bow mastery for e.g. passively increases your damage. Jump shot for e.g. is a passive skill that unlock key combos instead.

Combo System
Combo in this game is the maximum number of hits a player can do. It only ends when you stop hitting a target for a set amount of time. Just ensure that the combo number doesn’t fade off and you will be able to continue building up your combo (I read somewhere that the fade off time is 2 sec, need to do some testing in Alpha2 to confirm it).
Every 10 hits give you 10% more XP per kill. Note that 9 hit combo give you 0% XP boost. XP boost is capped at 100 hits or 100% boosts.
1 – 9 hit = 0% boost
10 – 19 hit = 10% boost
20 – 29 hit = 20% boost
90 – 99 hit = 90% boost
100 hit to infinity = 100% boost
  border=0  border=0  border=0 border=0
To give you an e.g. you lets say you killed monster A in 8 hits followed by 5 hits on monster B. Your total combo would be 13 hits and killing monster B would give you 10% extra XP. Killing monster A doesn’t give you any bonus since it died on the 8th hit.

Home
border=0
    • It is used for storage purposes and can be used to recieve ur mails
    • There is a maid (admin call it housekeeper, but i insist its maid!)
    • You can see a pet area too in the picture, its for keeping your pet of course lol
    • According to past information by Barunson, those picture on the wall can be changed too. Not sure if it is implemented though.
    • Again, according to past information by Barunson, you can invite others to your house too
    • Once again, according to Barunson, you can buy different houses too (perhaps size difference?)

Pet
 border=0border=0
border=0
Pet is not available in the game yet, but this are the information I found from Barunson Interactive website:
  • Pet can be used as a mount or battle assistant
  • Displays various cute facial expressions
  • A basic pet is free of charge
  • Related items: pet food and additional pets

Joystick/Game-pad
As mentioned earlier, Dragonica function can be largely controlled via keyboards alone hence, it is very compatible with joystick/game-pad. It is currently not officially supported (meaning you need an external software) but is expected to in the future.

Guild
border=0
Guild cost 1 gold to create and has a minimum level requirement of 20. Player would have to complete a combo quest (get a specific amount of combo) before they could create the guild.
Initially, there can only be a maximum of 5 people in a guild, but it can be increased by raising guild levels. 20 gold is required to get a guild to level 2 and 30 gold for level 3 (basically it is 10 times the guild level) and 5 maximum slot is added for each guild level.
border=0
Guild skill are unlocked too by leveling guild. The picture above is the guild skill that are available, level 1 guild skill cost 100 gold and level 2 guild skill cost 200 gold and etc. the cost is basically 100 times the guild skill level. I have no idea what the skill effect is since after kongbakpao bought a few of the guild skill, it doesn’t seem to have any effect lol (the skill description was also blanked out, most likely cause it wasn’t ready). level 1 – 3 guild skill is passive, only level 4 guild skill is active.

Relationship
Most relationship systems are not implemented yet and might not even appear in future. Currently there is only buddy and marriage system:
  • Buddy system
  • Marriage
  • Brothers/Sisters
  • Mentor
Buddy System
 [No info regarding it yet]
Marriage
  •  The 1st marriage skill gives the user a active skill that allow you and your lover to have a 10% attack speed buff (I bet all gladiator would want to get married for this buff :p provided that it stacks with acceleration of course lol)
  • The second marriage skill allow the user to teleport to his/her lover.

PvE – Mission
For those new to the term instance, instance is a special area that generates a new copy of the area for every player/party that enters it basically, instance are private field. Instances solves the problem of graphic lag (when too many people are in your screen) and prevent kill stealing or looting.
Each instances has 4 difficulties, which are ranked from 1 to 4 star difficulties. Monsters are stronger for higher star difficulty but of course, the rewards are also better and it gives more XP. But it also takes a longer time to complete, so you have juggle between xp gained and time taken. Monster doesn’t re-spawn unless it is in the boss stages and they only respawn for 3 and 4 star difficulties.
Mission Ranking
Mission also has various ranking and ranking determines the item player gets. From highest to lowest, S Rank > A Rank > B Rank > C Rank > D Rank.
Mission Bonus XP
[Mission bonus XP is calculated via 4 factor: time taken, highest number of combo, number of times you got stuck and total amount of damage. For e.g. if your total points is 10,000 from having a short time and high combo and you took a total of 4,000 damage in the entire mission, your total points would be 6,000 and maybe around 5,000 points if you got struck 20 times and 4,000 points instead if you got struck for 40 times. The above number are merely used for explanation purposes it doesn’t reflect the actual mechanic of mission bonus XP calculation.] not accurate, doing a in-depth test atm
Mission Total Score
Mission total score is different from mission ranking. Mission total score is the total amount of EXP gained from the mission. The amount of XP you gained from completing the mission is Mission Bonus XP. Mission total score is calculated via the sum of EXP gained and Bonus XP. EXP gained refers to the total amount of XP you gained from killing all the monsters in the map. So for those that feels like getting an insanely high mission total score, they could camp in the boss stage and continuously kill those mob that re-spawns.

MvP
border=0  border=0  border=0
MvP in Dragonica is instances and can be done as many times as you want. Unlike Mission instances, where you have to fight a series of stages, MvP instance brings you straight to the boss stage. Below is a few clips I took from Alpha II.

PvP
border=0
PvP refers to Player versus Player. PvP in Dragonica is similar to room-games and players can enter PvP zone from any place unless they are in instances. Potion or reviving feather/skill can’t be used in PvP zone. When a player joins your room, you can view their level and number of wins/loss they have in PvP. Players can also set various option for PvP. Map, (current there are 2 map to choose), duration (min of 3 mins, can’t remember what is the maximum), mode (PK or territory control) and number of slots (maximum of 10 players). There are also rewards for winning PvP (I had only got cooking recipe though).

 FAQ
What is the death penalty in Dragonica?
Ans: You will lose a certain percentage of XP upon death. There are no item drop when dying. From some initial test, it seems to be 3.5% penalty (not sure if it is increased when you are higher level).
What about the death penalty in PvP?
Ans: There are no penalty for dying in PvP so PvP all you want when you are bored of grinding.
So what happens after dying?
Ans: You will be given a choice to resurrect on spot or back in town. Either way the XP penalty is still the same but it cost money to resurrect on spot. The money required for resurrecting is based on player’s level.
So is there any other way of resurrecting?
Ans: Acolyte has resurrection skill or you could buy resurrection feathers from NPC.
How does the stats system works in Dragonica?
Ans:  It is automatically allocated when leveling. But it can be increased via equipments or refining.
