Last Chaos Ranger Guide

Last Chaos Ranger Guide by SiirrbbuU

Hopefully this will come useful for the new players and also for some not quite new , but not old players either . Despite the well known idea how to go assassin first and then ranger , with the new game changes ( new skills , new stats for mobs ) all classes are able to grind well at low lvl , not only assassins . Therefore now is good to go ranger since low lvls .

I also hope the new players pick to play the game and their characters the way they wish Smile This is meant just to give them a hand if they need it or just to hear some advices Smile

Get set cuz here we go !

Ranger Good Points

* High Attack . Until level 60 the attack power is skill lower than assassin’s but after level 70 the attack power is seriously ‘boosted’ .
* Good attack power for skills. Ranger does more damage with skills than Archer . Both in PvP and PvE . Ranger with Piercing lv 9 can do more damage than wizards with Terra Spear . Which is good .
* Better Critical Rate . Without any accessories to increase you critical rate , ranger has the highest REAL critical rate . Maybe some of you noticed the numbers now with the NUI . Well , those seem to be un real . All you can do is testing . I ve done some tests with an archer who had higher critical rate than me , but in PvP while i was doing most of the hits critical , he was doing in the best case , 1 of them , before dying . And was the same in PvE .

* Ability to farm fast at high levels . Ranger is WAY faster grinder than assassin . After getting CS , considering the fact that mobs no longer die very fast so you have to move to another one and we can find alot of mob in one place/room ( in Last Trum , Tomb Of Teos , Egeha – Ghosts ) , we no longer have to move . So CS comes very handy . Also Piercing which is an AOE skill ( ‘budget’ aoe skill , imo since you can hit just 3 targets in front , not as other aoe skills having an area range ) . The skill cool downs are awesome .
Once you will be able to get a casting up helm , will notice , u can almost cast skill non stop , even if we have just two of them . You will do only 1 or 2 hits until the next skill is recharged . While assassin , even with the same cool down for skills and a bit lower casting time , they grind slow . And also in PvE , double strike does not so much dmg . Double Strike is good in PvP only .

Ranger weak Points

* Low mana points . At high level , the MP wont be enough and you will run out of MP very fast .
* Low Defence . In PvP at the moment is not important , but matters in PvE . But i rather like more attack then more defence .

Leveling

Level 1 – 5
* Juno ( the starting map ) . Just get outside the Town ( Randol ) and kill Foxes and Deers t the beginning and then move forward to Elder Wolves and Dire Wolves .

Level 5 – 10
* Juno – Berzeker Wolves until level 8 and then Jaguars until level 10-12

Level 10 – 12
* Juno ( Open Land ) – Here you either grind on Jaguars until level 12 or you can start doing Sasquatches since you are level 10 . Considering that sasquatches are the mobs ( non- temple/dungeon mob ) that give the most skill experience , its good to start grinding on them since level 10 .
* Velpist Temple ( The Juno Temple ) – Wandering and Ancient Zombies . They give the same skill experience as Sasquatch but since they are Temple/Dungeon mob , they are harder to kill . My advice is to stay outside of any temples until level 16 .

Level 12 – 16
* Juno ( Open Land ) – Werewolves until level 14 and then Little Treants until level 16 . Little Treants are easy to kill , they have a low attack speed and also a quite good HS drop rate Smile
* Velpist Temple – Berzerk Zombie

Level 16-17 ____ The Mighty Level 16/17 Smile This is were we start getting very good skill experience . Alot if not most of the new players choose to block their experience at this level and gather all or most of their skill experience for the up coming levels , here . If you want to do the same or not , its your choise . Either way its not hard .
* Velpist Temple – Corpse Ranger ( Lv 16 )
* Prokion/Procion Temple ( Dratan Temple ) – Ghoul ( Lv 17 )

Level 19
* Prokion Temple – Mummy

Level 21
* Velpist Temple – Skeleton Soldier
* Juno ( Outside ) – Great Horned Beast ( Lv 24 )
* Dratan ( Outside ) – Harpy and Dark Goddess
*** Note : temple is just if you want more skill experience , while outside you can get less skill experience but a bit more drops . GHB can drop alot of Tool Aids .

Ranger general ( active ) and passive skills and skill points needed to max them ( includes also rogue skills )

Rogue General Skills

Tumble Cleave – 58 Skill Point(s) *** Note : Following the guide , you dont need to max the skill , unless you have extra Skill Points . Therefore , you need 0 Skill Point(s)

Snare – 149 Skill Point(s)

Confusion – 179 Skill Point(s) *** Note : I ll repeat this over and over until players will understand . MAX the skill because its helpful . For Lv 25 , 179 SP are not much , so it can be done Razz

Dire Strike – 179 Skill Point(s)

Invisibility – 207 Skill Point(s) *** Note : Invisibility is the required skill to be able to pick your second class ( job ) – RANGER . Some people say you can also pick assassin but NOOO ! no assassins Very Happy Razz

Tips (for PvP)

* Canceling CS – Use Remedy for snare . No matter what lvl is the CS , this will be canceled .
* In arena , stay invisible as much as u can . NEVER try to go invisible while fighting with another ranger or any range classes . The current Invisibility glitch will stop you from attacking for few seconds and also cancel your skill IF the opponent is hitting you while going invisible .
* DO NOT use invis in a fight with another rogue , if you both agreed not to use True Sight potions . Its pointless . And if you choose to use , use CS and go invisible right away . As soon as you see yourself spotted ( he will run fast to you knowing the place you are and you cant move/run ) , use True Sight as well and then Remedy for stun . Once you have him targeted Pierce and hits and he s dead.
* Unless you are confident with your Hit Rate , dont use Flame Arrow too much . It will miss alot , same as Hyde Shot .
***Note Hyde Shot is the only skill with 20.0 hit range . All the others have 15.0 .
* Against archers , best way is to use CS and do normal hits . Obviously the archer will take advantage of his higher hit range for skill ( 20. 0 ) and wont come in your Piercing range . Since Silent Arrow might fail . And it happens quite often . Just use CS and do normal hits . The high dmg dealt with critical hits and high critical rate will make you win .
* Do NOT go in arena , if you know you dont have good PvP accs . And by this i mean HR accs . EoS is still good unless the opponent has some better MC accs . Then its time to get some too. 93×2 and the most wanted 93×3 are priceless for us . Best PvP acc for ranger is 93×3 + 60% crit increase . Ive seen one , but the owner is a mage … Aww ;(
* If you have 60% stun ressistance , against rk/tk , use CS . No need to run . But against titans , dont use CS . Just snare , Pierce , run , snare , pierce .
* If you have less than 60% Stun resistance, is better either to run and prey or dont do PvP at all .

Tips (for PvE)

* At low levels , either if you wanna use daggers or xbow , to be either a ‘wannabe assassin or ranger’ try to use some HP regeneration potions . The ones that increase your HP regeneration . Sine at low level , our hit points (HP ) arent so many , this will help alot and will prevent you from using alot of healing potions .
* At mid levels , lets say Lv 70+ ( since cap level is currently 120 , i consider 70s as mid levels ) , you can use or not CS . Depends on situation . If you want to farm demons , its good not to use CS . Because , with the new improved passive skills to increase your Magical Resistance , you will be able , even if it takes a bit more without CS to kill the demon without any problems . And if you use CS , you will kill it too fast , something like half of the time your CS lasts and will have to cancel it to move to another mob . This since demon spots arent full with demons ( the regular ones ) and most of them have max 3 . So , instead of using Potions for snare to cancel CS , rather dont use it at all . It will be better .
* If you farm ‘Ghosts’ ( Cursed Lich & Weaver ) , its better to use it , especially if you farm in some ‘high populated’ spots , such as Maz(e) . In spots with more than 2 or 3 ghosts ( i recommend spots with at least 4 of them , for SP/gold Farming ) its awesome to use CS . Since CS doesnt lower your magical resistance or defence , it affects just your physical one . While it also ‘affects’ your attack power . In a good way of course .
* Farming in Lust Trum . If you farm on Zamara or any other mobs that can be ‘mobbed’ make sure you use Piercing , ALOT . Try to keep target on one mob and also try to have on you at least 3 mobs all the time , to hit with piercing . This helps for lvling , but not for drop hunting . For drop hunting , best is to kill them one by one .
* At high levels , 90+ , farming in Tomb Of Theos as ranger is so easy . We can see alot of knights being lvl 120 now . But thats not because they farm easier at high levels . Oh no , probably rangers are a bit lazier , but they can farm ALOT faster than most of the other classes . Between level 90 and 95 best exp per hour as ranger in Tomb Of Theos , ALONE , in solo party ( not even combat party ) a ranger can make up to 45% . Farming Commanders and Spear Men in the hall close to the last room . At level 95 – 100 , about 22.5% even 23% per hour . While at level 100+ its getting level by level a bit harder .
The best way to farm in Tomb Of Theos is as always , using Piercing and mobbing . Dont be afraid , you wont die , even with 4-5 mobs hitting you . Best way is to have constantly at least 3 mobs on you to be able to kill them with Piercing . And also make sure you keep a Booster on because , while hitting a mob , Piercing might kill another one .
I ve seen alot of players farming on Commanders in the big room with the boss . Its easier to do it in the hall next to the last room . There are plenty of mobs there and will be easier to use CS .

There are some more tips for Rangers but those are … a bit more special and hopefully all will find them by their own Smile

I m sorry for any wrong information and I hope it will help .

Cheers ,
ZeeKe
