Ragnarok Online 2 Colosseum and Blood Points Guide

Ragnarok Online 2 Colosseum and Blood Points Guide by Kevmeister

First and foremost, this is a WIP and it will be updated frequently with all vital information upon self discovery and the help of everyone and all credit will be given where due.

Let’s begin with an introductory of what Colosseum is.

1. What is Colosseum?

Colosseum is as its name would suggest. A place where players are pit against each other and hoards of monstrosities in a struggle to become etched in the history as the sole Gladiator to rise above the others.

In summary, it’s pure chaos in here!

2. How do I participate?

Colosseum opens its doors twice a day, every day at [9 p.m.] and [11 p.m.]. Here’s a table for conversion of times for your reference (it’s not complete, but it will give you a rough idea):

You can easily participate by clicking on the Colosseum icon that will appear at the bottom right of your screen (highlighted in the red box).

3. What do I do when I enter?

In a nutshell, dispose of everything in there before you take your last breath! Everyone and everything in here is hostile and killing them is the only way to go. For every kills you do, be it players or monster will earn you points in which you need to collect in order to proceed to the next round. These points will also be converted to your Blood Points which you can trade for items, armors and mounts from the Knightage Officer NPC in Prontera.

4. How do I gain points and how are they calculated?

For now, there is no discreet amount in which I know of, so I will be using a pseudo example of value to show the calculation. Everything that you kill will earn you points.

Killing a player: +100 points
Killing a mob = +25 pts
Death = -50 pts

Player A‘s cumulative kills/death = 10 players, 2 mobs, 5 deaths = 1,000 Points
Player B‘s cumulative kills/death = 4 players, 12 mobs, 1 death = 650 Points
Player C‘s cumulative kills/death = 24 players, 15 mobs, 2 deaths = 2,675 Points
Player D‘s cumulative kills/death = 16 players, 4 mobs, 25 deaths = 450 Points
Player E‘s cumulative kills/death = 15 players, 25 mobs, 5 deaths = 1,875 Points
Player F‘s cumulative kills/death = 5 players, 1 mobs, 19 deaths = -425 Points (Capped at 0 Points)

Player C is the winner with the highest points. In another scenario:

Player A‘s cumulative kills/death = 10 players, 2 mobs, 5 deaths = 1,000 Points
Player B‘s cumulative kills/death = 4 players, 12 mobs, 1 death = 650 Points
Player C‘s cumulative kills/death = 2 players, 145 mobs, 2 deaths = 3,725 Points
Player D‘s cumulative kills/death = 16 players, 4 mobs, 25 deaths = 450 Points
Player E‘s cumulative kills/death = 15 players, 25 mobs, 5 deaths = 1,875 Points
Player F‘s cumulative kills/death = 5 players, 1 mobs, 19 deaths = -425 Points (Capped at 0 Points)

Player C still wins despite having the least amount of player kills, while having a large number of mob kills.

Do note that different mobs give different amount of points and they also give you EXP upon killing them (especially handy if you’re leveling up your guild and you’re at level 50).

5. What are the mobs that spawn in Colosseum and what happens when I kill them?

Mobs are spawned differently per round and have varying strengths depending on the round you’re on. As the round approaches its final seconds, a miniboss will appear (a mob that is slightly stronger than the average mobs).

In addition to mobs, Novelty Porings will also spawn. They are King Porings that have only 1 HP and gives you a random buff or debuff when you killed it. The list of effects you could get from killing one are:

  • 5-Second Stun
  • 10-Second Snare
  • 5-Second Silence
  • 20-Second 50% Increase in Defense Rate
  • 30-Second 200% Damage Multiplier
  • A 100,000 Heal

6. How do I proceed to the next round?

Every round of the Colosseum consists of 6 lesser players than the round before and it starts with a total of 30, for a total of 5 rounds. In a nutshell:

Round 1: 30
Round 2: 24
Round 3: 18
Round 4: 12
Round 5: 6

7. Are there any differences joining at different Combat Levels?

If you do not count the amount of skills available at your disposal, the Colosseum is built in a way where even a level 1 character has a balanced-out stats to match up with the level 50 players. Your offensive and defensive statistics, in addition to HP/SP will be adjusted to match with the level 50 character.

Also note that no matter what equipment you use, it will not affect your stats (HP/SP, offensive stats, Vigor, Haste, Hit, Dodge nor Parry are changed). The only gears that will affect your offensive and defensive stats are equips with PVP bonuses in them e.g. PVP Reduction, PVP Additional Damage.

All characters are given a 3,000 HP boost during your time in the Colosseum.

8. What are Blood Points? How do I get more?

Blood Points are basically your scores earned per round that has been converted. You can gain more by advancing to the next round, in essence, to survive the Colosseum and by killing as many targets as possible.

9. What can I get from trading my Blood Points?

Assortment of goods from consumables to equips. Each Knightage sells a certain set of equips pertaining to the class they represent.
