Skill Build
There are a few skill builds I will describe and explain to you, Depending on your damage will greatly effect which run you will do. Make sure you bring Templar along with you, his +12% spirit regeneration ability is very useful.

Normal, Nightmare, & Hell – Build One

  • Fist of Thunder: Quickening
  • Tempest Rush: Northern Breeze
  • Mystic Ally: Air Entity
  • Mantra of Healing: Circular Breathing
  • Fleet Foot
  • Chant of Resonance
  • The Guardians Path

Explaination
This build is useful if your Spirit Regeration is enough to allow you to permanently use Tempest Rush, but not good enough to use the Tempest Rush rune: Tailwind.
Quickening is used incase you need to build some quick spirit regeneration, 3-5 punches should be fine
Mystic Ally: Air is used for 2 reason; first is his AOE dmg, that breaks barrels, barriers and kills monsters. Second being his chance to restore 100 spirit on each attack, very useful.
Mantra of Healing: Circular breathing is only useful when you do not have enough spirit regeneration from items.
Guardians path grants bonus spirit regen with a 2 handed weapon.

Normal, Nightmare, & Hell – Build Two

  • Fist of Thunder: Quickening
  • Tempest Rush: Tailwind
  • Mystic Ally: Air Entity
  • Mantra of Conviction: Submition
  • Fleet Foot
  • Chant of Resonance
  • The Guardians Path

Explaination
Same idea as Build One, except this build is only used when you have enough spirit regeneration to permamently Tempest Rush: Tailwind from items alone. This is the best, and fastest way to farm normal with a monk.

Inferno mp0

  • Fist of Thunder: Thunderclap
  • Breath of Heaven: Blazing Wrath
  • Sweeping Wind: Bladestorm
  • Cyclone Strike: Implosion
  • Mantra of Healing: Circular Breathing
  • Fleet Foot
  • Chant of Resonance
  • One with Everything

Explaination
A completely different build for another reason entirely. It won’t be easy to survive by tempest rushing around with your spirit regeneration gear, unless you spent trillions of dollars on godlike gear. So instead, we improvise with a slower run but safer run.
Use your Thunderclap to leap into enemy groups, with your Sweeping wind on you Cyclone Strike them into the center. They will all die before the Imposions stun is done. Elites may take 1-3 punches to finish off, but it is a rather easy run to finish. This run is fixed for those with no spirit regenerating items, to allow easy and effective farming mp0.

Item Build
Your item build is very specific on how you generate enough spirit to permanently Tempest Rush. Using a 2 handed Diabo is essential, Tempest Rush drains spirit based on your Attack Speed. If you drain 10 spirit a second, you have 1.00 attack speed. 13.3 spirit a second if you have 13.33 attack speed. I personally have 13.33 attack speed and 12.5 spirit a second, they balance at 13 spirit a second drained. Here are some items that you will find useful:

  • Inna’s Reach: +2.3 Spirit regen. combine this with 2 other inna’s set peices
  • Inna’s Radiance: +2 spirit regen & Magic Find.
  • Inna’s Favor: The +% holy damage helps with conviction, & + Magic Find
  • Inna’s Vast Expanse: +Magic find.
  • Slave Bonds: Movement Speed & Magic find
  • Stone of Jordan: +2.15 spirit Regen & possibly Holy damage
  • Everything Else: Crit damage/Crit Chance/Movement speed Pickup Radius/Magic Find/Dexterity

Explanation
You want to Avoid Attack Speed on your items, it will increase the spirit cost for Tempest rush. That is why I didn’t list Inna’s Temperance since it gives attack speed. Avoid dual weilding, since they have 1.4 attack speed, and actually drain 2x the spirit when using Tempest Rush.

As for the mp0 runs, your normal build you wear is fine.

Let me know if you have some more information for this guide, I wrote it based purely on experience.
