Parties

How to form a party

To invite a player to your party you can use the “/invite [player name]” command. Or you can switch to UI mode by using the ESC or Alt keys. Then click on the player you wish to invite and select “Invite to Party” from the menu which appears.

Players who receive a party invite will have a message box pop-up asking them whether they wish to accept the invite. After 30 of no response the invite is automatically canceled. You can switch to UI mode to press the accept button.

Your UI is updated with party information when you join a group.

You can use “/p” in order to talk to your party. Locations of party members will appear on your map, as well as green arrows on your minimap showing the directions in which party members are located.

Party Recruitment Board

Party recruitment boards are a sort of party matching system. In order to help you find groups, party recruitment boards can be found in camps and towns.

  • Select the quest you wish to work on.
  • Refreshes the information displayed on the party recruitment board.
  • Choose which party you wish to view.
  • Allows you to see details on the selected party.
  • Apply to join the selected party.

Party Options

When you join a party, you will have an option to leave it. Party leaders also get other options.

  • Distribution Settings– See Below.
  • Party Expulsion– Allows you to kick players from your party.
  • Party Delegation– Lets you assign someone else as party leader.
  • Withdraw from Party– You will leave the party. If there were only 2 people in the group the party is dissolved.
  • Dissolve Party– Causes all party member to not be in a party anymore.

Party Distribution Settings

In CBT3 there are several options for looting

  • Free Loot – Lets whoever picks up an item keep it
  • Assigned Distribution – When an item is picked up it is assigned to party member either randomly, or in a sequential order.
    • There is also the option to have loot only distributed to classes which can use the item.

Group Dueling

Group duels allow multiple groups of players to participate in a consensual pvp fight.

Using Esc or Alt to switch to UI mode, you can target a player from another group and challenge them to a group duel. From there you can set up the duel or invite other groups to join in.

In Tera there is also support for betting on the outcome of duels. Bets are placed before a duel and once victory conditions are met, the gold which was bet is distributed to the winners. There also appears to be the option to bet items.

Potions

There are two types of supplies/potions. Public supplies which everyone can use, and “class-restricted supplies” which can only be used by certain classes.

Public Supplies

These potions are able to be used by anyone.

Continuous Recovery Potion

You are limited to carrying only 10 of these potions at a time.
These potions recover HP over a 30 second interval.

Instant Recovery Potion

These potions instantly recover HP. However, they cost much more than the continuously recovery potions.
You are limited to carrying 10 of these.

Speed Potion

This potions has an effect similar to that of the priest’s speed buff. It increases your run speed for 10 minutes.
You are limited to carrying 10 of these.

Class-Restricted Supplies

These potions have limitations stated in the item description, which allow only certain classes to use them.

Increases your attack by 1.15 times for 2 minutes.
You are limited to carrying 3 of these.

Increases the attack by 1.75 times and defense by 2.09 times for 2 minutes.
You are limited to carrying 3 of these.

Limited to Slayer, Berserker, Sorcerer, and Archer
Increases defense by 1.48 times for 2 minutes.
You are limited to carrying 3 of these.

Motes

Motes are instant buffs which are dropped randomly by monsters. They can have a variety of effects.

This mote increases your attack. You can use the F key to pick it up.

Examples of other motes.

  • Instant health regeneration
  • Gradual health regeneration
  • Increases damage for 10 minutes
  • Increases attack and defense for 10 minutes
  • Increases defense for 10 minutes
