Jade Dynasty Spirit Mystery Quest Guide by Celana

I made this guide to give you some insight in the Quest: Spirit Mystery which you can obtain from Taisung the Tao in Jadeon and to show you how you can finish it without much problems until the end.
You’ll need alot of time and patience to finish this questline, so make sure you have both of this (depending on his rewards you want to get).

On the first part of the quest Chien, I’ll give out more details to most of the parts of the quest, others are following later.

You’ll go to Jadeon and visit NPC Taisung the Tao (140, 112). You can obtain the Quest Spirit Mystery from him.

Take the first front part Qan, soon after you’ll have two pieces in your bag (quest section), one front part and one rear part.

If you start with Qan, it begins with Front = Qan and Rear = Tui the result will be a quest named Chien. You’ll now have 1 hour and 40 minutes to solve 6 quest parts which are mostly scouting an NPC, gathering an item or delivering items. The last part is always killing a boss.

First Test: Kill: Thunderbane Wielder (0/72) -437, 192 in Jadeon (This is just one example of a coordination) These monsters continuously do 200 Damage.

Second Test: 2 different Talisman (3 each) or 1x Red Flame Orb or 1x Blue Water Orb.

On the second test, instead of handing in Talisman it is possible to happen that you are asked to deliver a Red Flame Orb or a Blue Water Orb, though within doing the quest line 8 times you’re only asked to deliver this maybe once or twice.

Blue Water Orb Leowen 176, 136 Sunstream (Cost = 200 Culture points)
Red Flame Orb Nura 135, 84 Sunstream (Cost= 3000 Piety points)
You can get one orb only each Day.

Try to have already all kinds of Talisman in your bag while doing the quest to save time.

Third Test: Collect: Magic Fungus (0/1) Jadeon -108, -278

Fourth Test: Collect: Spirit Stone (0/1) Jadeon -11, -425

If you get the Seal Breaker item you have to go to the tower where the Elder of Arcaness resides and dig the pillar where the 2 Pincerhand Lorceners are fighting each other. Before you can dig there you need to eliminate them first. The easiest method is to seek help from your pet so that you can hit both at the same time. Watch both of their HP bars and make sure that they die around at the same time so that you have enough time to dig the pillar before they respawn.

Fifth Test: Jump to the platform where Aquarion Kirin stands.

That blue big dragon Aquarion Kirin is standing on the platform to the left of Taisung the Tao, you barely can miss him. If you own a Skyblade, then you just can fly up to the platform and stand there for a little while until you get a popup message to continue. If you don’t have a flying sword, then you need to use your movement speed + / charge skill and jump on Kirin’s platform from the hill on the backside.

Last Test: Kill: Illusion of Taisung (0/1) Jadeon 353, 381

The boss tests at the end of the quests always take quite some time, that’s the mere reason why you’ll most likely need every minute you’ve available for the quest and most likely only be left with 30 minutes or less once you’re finished. If you do the quest with 2 or three people, then you are able to kill the boss way faster.
Skills aren’t much of use, because you won’t make significantly higher damage than with normal attacks. Have some HP pots with you and let your pet help you to complete the last test.

You dont lose XP if you die at the Boss.

As soon as you have completed all 6 tests, you’ll get a new rear part and some Taichi Pill as reward from Taisung the Tao.
For now, stick with the front part and don’t exchange it for another one.
Once you’ve collected your pills and the rear part, which will change with every quest you do, you talk again to Taisung the Tao and do the next quest if you feel like it or continue later on.

If you did the quest 8 times from the Qan series, you’ll obtain this:

This is the first of 8 pieces to obtain a Spirit Mystery Tome from NPC Issa in Jadeon, if you give him 100 Gold along with all pieces. The Spirit Mystery Tome can be exchanged for new Chi’s which give more HP / SP than the LV 135 Chi and later on even a good amount of damage reduction.

Reward: With every quest you finish, you’ll earn more Taichi Pill:

If you’re done with all quests from the Qan series and got your first Spirit Mystery out of 8, visit Taisung the Tao again and take Spirit Mystery quest again. Then you choose a new front part. If you want to go in order, then select Tui.

Third Test: Era Ginseng (0/1) Sunstream 344, -352, 52, 45 and -358 -18.

The herb Era Ginseng seems to be changing realms after quite some time. If you’re lucky it might stay long enough on one realm but mostly the next day you find it somewhere else. If you need to search, start with Realm 5, have been most successful there.

Fourth Test: Find the Hermit of Tien in Sunstream and consult him about the Secret of Symbol.

The Hermit NPC can be found on every realm and not changing realms like it was thought first. But he’ll change positions on the map itself. He’ll wait for some minutes at one point and then disappears to another location. It seems to be random which spot the Hermit chooses next, can even be the same spot again. But you need to decide for yourself if you want to travel all over the map to look for him or trying to change realm if you think that could end up in finishing that part of quest faster. The Hermit NPC has up to 6 different positions on the maps of Sunstream, Jadeon and Skysong.

Fifth Test: Jump to the top of the flagpole in Sunstream City.
Sunstream City

It’s the same flagpole you jumped on in an early green voyage quest. If you want to save time, just use a skysword. It’s located at 135, 64.

Last Test: Kill: Firebath Suanibeast (0/1) Sunstream 368, 381

That’s the boss in the upper left corner in Sunstream (coords 368, 381), next to the other dangerous boss that guards the Zaara platform. He uses an AoE attack, and therefore makes other monsters around attack him as well. Watch out that his AoE doesn’t reach the boss. Once, I wasn’t able to get the kill because the boss was hitting on it for 60,000 damage.

NPC Hermit of Ren is located in Skysong at -400, 37 inside the cave, unfortunately I wasn’t able to find him anywhere else yet.

The Hermit NPC can be found on every realm and is changing positions on the map.

If you did everything correctly up to this point, you should have 8 different Spirit Mystery in your bag by now. With these and 100 Gold you visit Issa at 123, 192 and trade all this in exchange for one Spirit Mystery Tome, which you can hand in at Taisung the Tao for your first Chi.

Overview of all 8 different Chi’s:

If you wanna have more than the first Chi, or even the very last one which has some nice stats on it, you’ll have to do all of it over and over again because to get the next Chi you need a Spirit Mystery Tome again and the previous Chi. Example for obtaining the Chi of Truth is giving Taisung the Tao one Spirit Mystery Tome and the Chi of Purity.

To speak in numbers it’s like this:

It’s always 8 quests for one front part to get one Spirit Mystery piece, so to get a full Spirit Mystery Tome you need to do it 64 times. So if you need to finish the quest 64 times for one Spirit Mystery Tome = your first Chi you’ll most likely have to do it 512 times until you aquire the last one, the Chi of Nirvana.
