Domain of Heroes Paladins Guide by KarstAvenger

As we all know, Paladins are warriors of the Holy Light. As such, their Skills focus around damage, are also built for Endurance, and can build up a very good resistance to Fire, Ice, and Lightning attacks. Depending on what race you run, a Paladin can be easy to play, medium difficulty, or even hard difficulty (for a better challenge).

Today, I am sitting down to explain more about Paladins, what Race Options are best to choose to play a Paladin, what Character Stats work, what Skills are the best for your Combo, and what kind of gear you need. For easy browsing, I suggest using the ctrl+f keys to “find” articles using the Table of Contents below.

1. Paladin Info and Skills

Info:

Paladins are knights that have pledged an oath to a god of light, from which they derive their power and holy might. Paladins who please their master are usually blessed with special abilities and healing powers as well.

Skills:
  • Shield of Light: Increases your Endurance. Endurance determines how much physical damage you take.
  • Heavenly Smite: An attack that uses Basic Weapon Damage. It also deals a small amount of Holy Damage.
  • Divine Favor: HP Regeneration. If you go below a certain amount of Hit Points, you begin to regain Health.
  • Holy Armor: Increases resistance to Fire, Ice and Lightning attacks, reducing the amount of damage you take from attacks that use Fire, Ice, and Lighting elements.

2. Karst’s Personally Preferred Race/Class Combos

  • Angel: Angels are excellent for a Paladin combo because of their Holy Multiplier, “Holy Spirit.” The only setback is that you need to compensate with Poison Resistance Enchantments (and 45% Base Resistance to Poison). I would not recommend making an Angel Paladin until the Class becomes a Hybrid Class. For those of you with Angel Paladins above Lv 15 already, keep them. You won’t regret it.
  • Dragon: Dragons have a lot of Life, which increases their Hit Points. To top this off, they have a Skill that increases their total Life, “Dragonheart.” This makes them live longer to deal lots of damage.
  • Giant: Giants are good for Power, and they have a skill which further boosts their Power: “Massive Muscles.” With such, you can max out your Endurance Skill and your Power SKill. Max out Heavenly Smite and Divine Favor as well, and place your last 20 Skill Points into Holy Armor.
  • Human: Humans are a good choice because not only do they have an Experience Boost, “Quick Learner,” but they have a Power and Mind boost as well, “Innate Ability.” Mind reduces the amount of damage taken by Elemental Attacks (which are attacks that use Fire, Ice, Lightning, Poison, Psion, and Holy damage), while Power increases damage dealt. For the basic beginner, I would recommend this race with a Paladin.
  • Troll: Trolls only have one skill: “Happiness.” This skill increases Power, grants Hit Point Regeneration, and it has Magic Finding to boot. Divine Favor and Happiness do stack, so you’ll be making a pretty long battle with your HP Regeneration. It’ll be like the opponent pretty much never hit you.
  • Werewolf: Werewolves are walls. Literally. They have a Hit Point Regeneration Skill, “Bestia Aeterna,” and an Agility Skill, “Shapeshifter.” Not only do they hit more often, but they can dodge, and their Hit Point Regeneration makes it so that you are gaining any Hit Points you lose if you fail to dodge. Longer battles for your enemies, but less damage taken for you.

3. Karst’s Personally Preferred Character Stats, Skills, and Gear for Each Combo

  • Angel Paladin: The Angel Paladin’s major Character Stats are Power and Mind. While Holy Spirit increases your Holy Multiplier, the only setback is that you need to compensate with Poison Resistance Enchantments (and 45% Base Resistance to Poison). You’ll be doing the usual, making sure all Base Resistances are placed at 45% and Enchanting your gear to jack up your Resistances from 45% to 75%. Tier 3 Enchants will do this, since you’ll only need 2 for each (Physical, Fire, Lightning, etc.) Holy Armor will help with your Fire, Ice, and Lightning Resistances, so you won’t need to worry too much with those. As far as Character Stats go, place them into Agility, Life, Endurance, and Power, as mentioned above.

As far as Skills go, you’ll be placing 35 Points into Heavenly Smite, Holy Spirit, Shield of Light, and Divine Favor. You will only need 20 points in Holy Armor.

The majority of your Gear will go towards Endurance, Agility, and Life. The rest can go towards Power.
