Luna Online Plus Dagger Rogue Skill Guide

Luna Online Plus Dagger Rogue Skill Guide by link_killer

~Introduction~

Welcome to LinkKiller’s skill guide to the Dagger Rogue. The goal of this guide is to give a clear job by job rundown of what skills would be most useful to a dagger rogue and plan out their future without any SP issues. Although this guide attempts to provide the “best” future for your Rogue, I encourage you to try things out for yourself and decide what works best for you.

~Section 1: Main Human Path~

Lv 1 – 19 ~ Rogue:
Lv 5 Dusk Slashing
Lv 1 Zephyr
Lv 1 Blindside
Lv 1 Death Sign
Lv 2 Light Evasion
Lv 5 Dagger Training
Lv 1 Burning Rage

SPs Remaining at Lv 20: 18

Rundown:
Dusk Slashing is your primary damaging technique, the bleeding will help a lot for PvP and Ghunting. Zephyr is your trademark buff. Blindside and Death Sign add to your crit chance/damage and considering this is a very crit focused build, its always nice to have those kind of things. Dagger training will help increase your damage output some, and Light Evasion is taken over Light Armor Mastery since evading altogether is better than damage reduction. Burning Rage is a toggle-able buff that grants additional attack power while draining your HP, good for PvP but not advised for PvM.

Lv 20 – 39 ~ Ruffian:
Lv 10 Dusk Slashing
Lv 5 Rage Step
Lv 5 Wind Breaking
Lv 2 Zephyr
Lv 2 Blindside
Lv 1 Quick Move
Lv 2 Detect Hole
Lv 4 Light Evasion
Lv 10 Dagger Training
Lv 2 Shadow Instinct
Lv 2 Diabolic Instinct
Lv 2 Burning Rage

SPs Remaining at Lv 40: 22

Rundown:
Rage Step is a good PvP/Ghunting skill taken as apposed to Perforate, Wind Breaking is your AoE and has DoT damage so its usefull even when 1v1ing. Quick Move helps cancel out the speed penalty when stealthed and helps you run away should you decide to try out PK mode. Detect hole and Diabolic Instinct are more crit related skills so you’ll want to max both. Shadow Instinct is another evasion raising passive, also max.

Lv 40 – 74 ~ Thief:
Lv 5 Rapid Slashing
Lv 15 Rage Step
Lv 10 Wind Breaking
Lv 10 Sudden Raid
Lv 4 Zephyr
Lv 4 Blindside
Lv 3 Quick Move
Lv 3 Stealth
Lv 4 Detect Hole
Lv 7 Light Evasion
Lv 15 Dagger Training
Lv 4 Shadow Instinct
Lv 4 Diabolic Instinct
Lv 1 Lace

SPs Remaining at Lv 75: 72

Rundown:
Rapid Slashing is the evolved form of Dusk Slashing, so of coarse you want to get that. Sudden Raid is a stun skill used from stealth, your opening move in any PvP fight. Stealth is your upper hand in PvP, and pretty fun just to mess around with. Not very usefull for PvM though as you cant go into stealth while engaged in combat. Lace is a HP regenerating skill, not all that usefull but worth it for the low SP cost.

Lv 75 – 104 ~ Assassin:
Lv 20 Rage Step
Lv 15 Wind Breaking
Lv 20 Sudden Raid
Lv 5 Shadow Spin
Lv 6 Zephyr
Lv 7 Blindside
Lv 2 Rapid Attack
Lv 2 Rapid Movement
Lv 5 Quick Move
Lv 7 Stealth
Lv 6 Detect Hole
Lv 9 Light Evasion
Lv 20 Dagger Training
Lv 7 Shadow Instinct
Lv 7 Diabolic Instinct
Lv 2 Predator
Lv 2 Lace

SPs Remaining at Lv 105: 12

Rundown:
Rapid Attack and Rapid Movement further add to your speed-demonness, not essential but nice to have. Predator increases your crit damage in exchange for defense, by this point you’ll have a very high crit rate so its well worth it.

~RESKILL~

Lv 105 – 140 ~ Blade Taker:
Lv 10 Dusk Slashing
Lv 15 Rapid Slashing
Lv 1 Wind Breaking
Lv 1 Sudden Raid
Lv 1 Sky Shadow
Lv 5 Deadly Strike
Lv 5 Ghost Break
Lv 5 Back Break
Lv 4 Sky Shadow
Lv 8 Zephyr
Lv 9 Blindside
Lv 1 Death Sign
Lv 4 Rapid Attack
Lv 4 Rapid Movement
Lv 7 Quick Move
Lv 8 Detect Hole
Lv 10 Light Evasion
Lv 25 Dagger Training
Lv 9 Shadow Instinct
Lv 9 Diabolic Instinct
Lv 4 Predator
Lv 5 Dual Wield Training
Lv 5 Dual Wield Mastery
Lv 6 Dual Wield Expertise
Lv 3 Burning Rage
Lv 3 Lace

SPs Remaining at Lv 120: 4

Rundown:
Deadly Strike, Ghost Break, Back Break and Sky Shadow are all presumed to be dual wielding skills. Dual Wield Training allows you to dual wield to begin with and ups your damage, Dual Wield mastery increases your attack speed even more, and Dual Wield Expertise decreases the penalties of dual wielding. AoEs have been brought down to lv 1 to conserve SP but can easily be upped if you lower another skill.

~Section 2: Alternative Human Jobs~

For all alternative job paths, merely swap out 1 or more jobs from the main path with a job of the same level found below. I recommend against cross-classing more than 2 jobs.

Lv 20 – 39 ~ Voyager:
Lv 10 Dusk Slashing
Lv 2 Zephyr
Lv 2 Death Sign
Lv 1 Quick Move
Lv 2 Fatal Touch
Lv 4 Light Evasion
Lv 2 Burning Rage

SPs spent on non-main path skills: 13

Rundown:
By taking this path you open up Lv 2 Death Sign and Lv 2 Fatal Touch, both of which increase the damage of your critical hits. You will have to catch up on several skills once you go thief, but you barely spend any more SPs for a bit of extra damage.

Lv 40 – 74 ~ Archer:
Lv 4 Zephyr
Lv 4 Death Sign
Lv 3 Quick Move
Lv 4 Fatal Touch
Lv 6 Light Evasion
Lv 1 Lace

SPs spent on non-main path skills: 48

Rundown:
Like with Voyager, going Archer will grant you Fatal Touch and Death Sign, only this time at lv 4 each instead. A good option for crit damage increase if your willing to have the slight increase in lvling difficulty.

Lv 75 – 104 ~ Ranger:
Lv 6 Zephyr
Lv 6 Death Sign
Lv 5 Quick Move
Lv 6 Fatal Touch
Lv 8 Light Evasion
Lv 2 Lace

SPs spent on non-main path skills: 103

Rundown:
Yet again, this path would be taken for Death Sign and Fatal Touch, only this time at lv 6. However this job offers no upgrade to your attacks, so it will be pretty hard to lv to 105 as a Ranger as apposed to taking the Assassin route. If you do choose this path, it would be best to lv as a bow rogue and then reskill at 105 when you switch back to dagger.

Lv 75 – 104 ~ Treasure Hunter:
Lv 15 Wind Breaking
Lv 15 Sudden Raid
Lv 15 Hunter Blast
Lv 5 Hunter Smoke
Lv 6 Zephyr
Lv 2 Extortion
Lv 6 Blindside
Lv 5 Quick Move
Lv 5 Stealth
Lv 6 Detect Hole
Lv 9 Light Evasion
Lv 20 Dagger Training
Lv 6 Shadow Instinct
Lv 5 Diabolic Instinct
Lv 2 Lace

SPs spent on non-main path skills: 170

Rundown:
Now here is one of the most common paths that all rogues cross-class into. The advantage of going Treasure Hunter is you get 2 more AoEs (both of which cause DoT damage) and the Extortion buff that increases drop rate. You wont be on par PvP wise with the Assassin, but you might be the faster lvler. I recommend this path to anyone who wishes to AoE as their primary grinding method.

Lv 105 – 119 ~ Entrapper
Lv 15 Rapid Slashing
Lv 5 Ice Illusion
Lv 15 Hunter Blast
Lv 10 Hunter Smoke
Lv 5 Fire Trap
Lv 5 Ice Trap
Lv 8 Zephyr
Lv 4 Extortion
Lv 8 Blindside
Lv 7 Quick Move
Lv 8 Detect Hole
Lv 3 Burning Rage
Lv 3 Lace

SPs remaining at lv 120: 3

Rundown:
You need to reskill away Wind Breaking and Rage Step to have all the SPs necessary for the above skills. Although Entrapper does not have dual wielding like Blade Taker, it does have several strong AoEs and a high level of Extortion. The damage output from this class wont be as high as a blade takers, but its survivability and lving speed will be higher due to still having a shield and several AoE spells. I would recommend this job for anyone that does not wish to dual wield with the main path.

~Section 3: Main Elf Path~

Lv 1 – 19 ~ Rogue:
Lv 5 Dusk Slashing
Lv 1 Zephyr
Lv 1 Blindside
Lv 1 Death Sign
Lv 2 Light Evasion
Lv 5 Dagger Training

SPs Remaining at Lv 20: 21

Lv 20 – 39 ~ Ruffian:
Lv 10 Dusk Slashing
Lv 5 Rage Step
Lv 5 Wind Breaking
Lv 2 Zephyr
Lv 2 Blindside
Lv 1 Quick Move
Lv 2 Detect Hole
Lv 4 Light Evasion
Lv 10 Dagger Training
Lv 2 Shadow Instinct
Lv 2 Diabolic Instinct

SPs Remaining at Lv 40: 31

Rundown:
Rage Step is a good PvP/Ghunting skill taken as apposed to Perforate, Wind Breaking is your AoE and has DoT damage so its usefull even when 1v1ing. Quick Move helps you run away should you decide to try out PK mode and a nice boost when walking around. Detect hole and Diabolic Instinct are more crit related skills so you’ll want to max both. Shadow Instinct is another evasion raising passive, also max.

Lv 40 – 74 ~ Scout:
Lv 5 Rapid Slashing
Lv 10 Rage Step
Lv 10 Nature Aid
Lv 3 Zephyr
Lv 4 Side Step
Lv 4 Whispering Wind
Lv 3 Blindside
Lv 3 Death Sign
Lv 2 Quick Move
Lv 2 Fatal Touch
Lv 5 Light Evasion
Lv 3 Shadow Instinct
Lv 3 Diabolic Instinct
Lv 5 Mana Control

SPs Remaining at Lv 75: 291

Rundown:
Rapid Slashing is the evolved form of Dusk Slashing, so you of coarse want to get this. Nature Aid is a self heal, nice to have but not essential. Side Step is an evasion buff and Death Sign is a crit rate buff, max both. Fatal touch is a crit damage self buff. Mana control increases MP regen, less MP pot usage is always a good thing.

Lv 75 – 104 ~ Rune Walker:
Lv 10 Rapid Slashing
Lv 15 Rage Step
Lv 10 Wind Breaking
Lv 20 Illusion Attack
Lv 2 Casting Foil
Lv 2 Slack
Lv 15 Nature Aid
Lv 5 Zephyr
Lv 6 Side Step
Lv 6 Whispering Wind
Lv 6 Whispering Fire
Lv 2 Whispering Stream
Lv 5 Blindside
Lv 5 Death Sign
Lv 4 Quick Move
Lv 4 Fatal Touch
Lv 4 Detect Hole
Lv 7 Light Evasion
Lv 15 Dagger Training
Lv 4 Shadow Instinct
Lv 4 Diabolic Instinct
Lv 7 Mana Control

SPs Remaining at Lv 105: 141

Rundown:
Now is when you’ll really start to stand out as an elf rogue. Illusion attack is your new main PvP/Ghunting skill, it is ranged and can stun. Casting Foil and Slack are ranged debuffs. Whispering Fire is a crit damage party buff, very nice to have. Whispering Stream is a party run speed buff, a nice boost for the SP.

~RESKILL~

Lv 105 – 120 ~ Temper Master:
Lv 10 Dusk Slashing
Lv 15 Rapid Slashing
Lv 10 Wind Breaking
Lv 10 Illusion Attack
Lv 5 Deadly Strike
Lv 5 Deadly Soul
Lv 4 Casting Foil
Lv 4 Slack
Lv 20 Nature Aid
Lv 7 Zephyr
Lv 8 Side Step
Lv 8 Whispering Wind
Lv 8 Whispering Fire
Lv 4 Whispering Stream
Lv 2 Whispering Steps
Lv 7 Blindside
Lv 7 Death Sign
Lv 6 Quick Move
Lv 6 Fatal Touch
Lv 6 Detect Hole
Lv 9 Light Evasion
Lv 20 Dagger Training
Lv 4 Shadow Instinct
Lv 6 Diabolic Instinct
Lv 5 Dual Wield Expertise
Lv 9 Mana Control

SPs Remaining at Lv 120: 0

Rundown:
Deadly Strike and Deadly Soul are presumed to be dual wielding skills. Dual Wield Expertise allows you to dual wield to begin with and decreases the penalties of dual wielding. Whispering Steps is a nice new party evade buff. Illusion Attack was brought down to 10 to save SP.

~Section 4: Alternative Elf Jobs~

For all alternative job paths, merely swap out 1 or more jobs from the main path with a job of the same level found below. I recommend against cross-classing more than 2 jobs.

Lv 20 – 39 ~ Voyager:
Lv 10 Dusk Slashing
Lv 2 Zephyr
Lv 2 Death Sign
Lv 1 Quick Move
Lv 2 Fatal Touch

SPs spent on non-main path skills: 0

Rundown:
Really I don’t see a reason to go Voyager over Ruffian as an elf. You’ll get everything you could get here as a Scout and you’ll lose your only AoE for a long time by not going Ruffian. But hey, if you really want to nothings stopping you from going Voyager.

Lv 40 – 74 ~ Archer:
Lv 4 Zephyr
Lv 4 Death Sign
Lv 3 Quick Move
Lv 4 Fatal Touch
Lv 6 Light Evasion

SPs spent on non-main path skills: 0

Rundown:
Again, I see little reason to choose this path over Scout. You’ll get higher Lvs of some passives slightly earlier but you’ll miss out on a good bit of skills. If you really want to go Archer go ahead, but you’re better off as a Scout.

Lv 75 – 104 ~ Ranger:
Lv 6 Zephyr
Lv 6 Death Sign
Lv 5 Quick Move
Lv 6 Fatal Touch
Lv 8 Light Evasion

SPs spent on non-main path skills: 0

Rundown:
Yet another job option that brings nothing to the table you wont already get later on.

Lv 75 – 104 ~ Treasure Hunter:
Lv 15 Rage Step
Lv 15 Wind Breaking
Lv 15 Sudden Raid
Lv 15 Hunter Blast
Lv 5 Hunter Smoke
Lv 6 Zephyr
Lv 2 Extortion
Lv 6 Blindside
Lv 5 Quick Move
Lv 5 Stealth
Lv 6 Detect Hole
Lv 9 Light Evasion
Lv 20 Dagger Training
Lv 6 Shadow Instinct
Lv 5 Diabolic Instinct

SPs spent on non-main path skills: 520

Rundown:
Now here’s a job option that is actually worth taking. Not only do you get 2 more AoEs and a higher Lv in the 1 you already had, but you also gain Stealth and Sudden Raid. You’ll spend a lot of SPs in the class but it’s okay since it really does change your character a lot and you’ll have to reskill for dual wielding if you go Temper Master next. I suggest taking this job both for AoE and PvP purposes.

Lv 105 – 119 ~ Entrapper:
Lv 20 Wind Breaking
Lv 20 Sudden Raid
Lv 5 Ice Illusion
Lv 15 Hunter Blast
Lv 10 Hunter Smoke
Lv 5 Fire Trap
Lv 5 Ice Trap
Lv 8 Zephyr
Lv 4 Extortion
Lv 8 Blindside
Lv 7 Quick Move
Lv 7 Stealth
Lv 8 Detect Hole
Lv 10 Light Evasion
Lv 7 Shadow Instinct
Lv 7 Diabolic Instinct

SPs remaining at Lv 120: 12

Rundown:
To have all the SPs necessary for the listed skills you will need to reskill away the following: Dusk Slashing, Rapid Slashing, Rage Step, Illusion Attack and Dagger Training.
By choosing this job you’ll lose out on the ability to dual wield and some higher lv buffs, but you’ll gain a lot of AoEs and be much better at PvP. Overall Entrapper really is better than Temper Master. Sudden Raid is your stun move from stealthed. Ice Illusion is a slowing AoE. Hunter Blast is a burning Aoe and Hunter Smoke is a poison+slow AoE. The traps are well… traps, not exactly how they’ll work but I’m sure there’s some use for them. Extortion is a drop rate buff, very nice for item hunters. You’ll have higher Lvs of several offensive passives than Temper Master. I recommend this job for both AoE and PvP.

~Section 5: Stat Builds~

STR:
Probably the most common build for every class that doesn’t use magic. The idea is to kill so fast that the enemy wont have enough time to strike back. An effective build that is easy to lv with and decent in PvP.

DEX:
Common build for Rogues. You’ll get more crit rate, more evasion and more accuracy (not that a rogue would ever miss to begin with). Kills a little slower than STR builds, but has a good bit more survivability and crits more consistently. My personal proffered build for Dagger users.

VIT:
More commonly a PvP build or a solo AoE build. You’ll do less damage than either STR or DEX builds, and you will have to take more hits than either as well. But since its easy to do good DoT damage as a rogue it isn’t a bad choice. You will have more HP and more DEF which is always a good thing for PvP.

WIS:
For those PvPers who just hate mages. I highly advise against lving with this build, this is purely something to restat to after your “done” grinding and just wish to PvP for the rest of your chars life. You’ll also have more MP and MP regen as well, but that’s not really worth sacrificing what other stats have to offer.

INT:
Lol? Your looking at the wrong class if you want to use this stat.

Hybrid:
Although going a pure path does usually have better results than hybrids, there’s still nothing wrong with adding to multiple stats. If you do decide to go hybrid I suggest you get the secondary stat to 100 first and then just add to the main stat afterwords (ex: 100 DEX, XXX STR).

~Section 6: Equipment~

This is a list of the suggested known equipments. Do not be dismayed if you cannot get said items, often times self crafting your equips can be more beneficial than using an expensive rare set. Especially with weapons, I usually advise self crafting over spending tons of time/money trying to get a rare drop.
