Weapons and armor can be made stronger (+) by using Power Scroll  (for weapons) and Guard Scroll (for armor). These scrolls can be found from a variety of ways such as quest rewards, random monster drops, treasure maps, etc.

Fortification scrolls have a safety point, meaning for up to a certain number of enhancements or plus (+) the success rate will be guaranteed (100%) however the down side is once the enhancement has passed a certain number of enhancement (+) failure of the fortification process will result in the utter destruction of the equipment . So be very sure you are willing to take a gamble before you proceed to fortify pass the safety point.

To use the fortification scrolls simply right-click on the scroll in your inventory. It will open up the fortification window on which you can put your weapon or armor which you wish to fortify.

A Safety stone  can be used to protect your equipment from destruction in case of a failed fortification attempt. One Safety stone is used per attempt whether successful or failure. Fortifying a weapon increases it’s physical and magical attack power while fortifying an armor will increase it’s defensive properties. To use the safety stone simply slot it on the “Bonus Item” slot of the fortification window. Remember one stone is used per attempt!
